About Michelle Fanton
This was the owner's custom-built (in 1973) family home for many years until a gorgeous new home came available just above vineyards across the road on his ranch and with some arm-twisting from his 2nd wife he reluctantly agreed to relocate. He now agrees that from their new home it's easier to operate the Tunnel Hill Winery and Sunshine Farm, which overlook beautiful Lake Chelan, so this original family home has become available for your family to enjoy!
Michelle Fanton purchased this House in 1973
Why Michelle Fanton chose Chelan
This home was built on the narrow strip of land at the pumphouse for the orchards above, which is why you'll find it a uniquely long and tall shape, but with a perfect sandy beach.
What makes this House unique
Sandy beach great for kids and sandcastles, large decks to relax on, long dock for boats and sunbathing, lots of nooks and crannies inside for many family members.
Sports & Adventure Activities
Beautiful location. Sub par cleanliness inside.
Got to speak with the owner who is a lovely man. He was unaware of the lack of housekeeping and would see to it that it gets taken care of. I bought cleaner and cleaned bathrooms and counter tops my self and Tried to make the best of it. Left 3 days early.
View, view, view!
What a great location! Right on the water where we spend all of our time. The house is large and easily accommodated seven of us. The kitchen is well equipped.
We enjoyed the free wine tasting at their winery, don't miss this!
Best summer vacation for friends and family!!
Let me tell you that this place was perfect for our group of 12! Easy lake access, sandy beach for the kids, awesome neighbors and the people who work with you to rent this place are fabulous and accomodating.
The pictures don't do it justice but I hope they don't update the pictures because this is my new secret gem!
Great location and lake access
We vacation every year at Lake Chelan and have rented many homes. This was by far the best one for lake access. We also loved the ability to sit out on the deck anytime after 10am and not be in direct sun. It is an older home but the kitchen is well stocked with anything you may need. However, the coffee pots need to be replaced. Sometimes the carafe wouldn't sit straight and we would have coffee all over the counter. It does get a little warm inside, even with the air conditioning, so you may want to bring your own fan for sleeping. We had plenty of room in the dock area to tie up our boat and two seadoos, along with our big fun island. All and all, we would highly recommend this rental property for your family vacations on beautiful Lake Chelan.
So great to hear that your family enjoyed our beach, docks, decks, water activities and that the house had room for everyone. Thanks for your kind comments. Wish you had told us sooner about the coffee pot trouble and needing fans, as there is always someone available at the winery to take care of problems right away. New coffee pots are in house now and extra fans for bedrooms have been added. Your were here during our hottest days, so we hope if you come next summer, things will be a little more comfortable. Again, thanks for staying with us!
Our 3rd summer with all our family at this terrific location. The grandkids loved the beach, the dock, swimming, and just playing in the water. If you're looking for luxury, this house is not for you, but if you're looking for a casual, relaxing location, it's great. We hope to come back next year as well!
Thanks for spending three summers at our LakeHouse — we love helping build memories for families like yours!
Regarding several comments indicating, "comfortable, homey, but not a real luxury place", we'll work on upgrading bedding next year and see if things can feel a little fresher and more up-to-date next time you come.
Thanks, again, for letting people know what a great place for family vacations our lakehouse can be.
Lakehouse was perfect!
We had a family reunion this past week and the Lake house fit us perfectly! Four generations and the house, beach, and dock had something for everyone. Very comfortable, and Michelle and Denny quickly took care of any questions or concerns. Tunnel Hill Winery, Texaco Mini mart, and the fresh food stand within walking distance kept us happy. Wish we could stay longer...thanks!
Located on the south shore near landmark Pat & Mike's convenience store, the Sunshine Farm Market and Tunnel Hill Winery, it's just 1-1/2 miles east to water slides for summertime fun, places to rent boats and jet-skis and the Lady of the Lake boat dock. There is daily passenger service to Stehekin, a remote village at head of this 55-mile glacier-fed lake. At 3-1/2 miles you come to the historic town of Chelan, with its Riverwalk, shopping and restaurants. To the west 10 miles (along southshore road or there's a great bike trail), you'll come to alpine terrain and the state park. In the area you'll also find a dozen more wineries to visit, two gorgeous and challenging golf courses, trails for mountain-bike riding, a casino, and world-class hang-gliding. Other Activities: Agricultural tours and wine-tasting.
