The Beach House was wonderful. Great sand. Loved the Gazebo. Good snorkeling right
out front. Could not ask for more. Casita, great cook, could not ask for more. Thanks
to Deno, Dawn, and Paul for making everything Great.
After the first time we stayed here we couldn't believe what an incredible vacation we had. The house, grounds and above all the staff were amazing. After leaving the first time we couldn't wait for the next year to go back. This was now our third year and we are already booked again for next year. Thank you for giving us an amazing vacation.
Just spent a fabulous week at Linga Awile....could have lingered longer. Took the whole family, from 2-82 and everyone had a ball! We were so well taken care of. The bonfire on the beach on the last night was a huge hit. It went from a blast for the kids to a bit romantic for the adults. Cheers to grandma. Can't wait to return...won't be long.
Linga Awile Cottage Is our top pick for the best cook in Jamaica. We go back for the food this was our 7th time going here out of the 23 trips we have made to the island. Casita can cook anything you want but for the Best tell her to pick what she want to make. You will not be disappointed. Paul the gardener is there everyday to rake the yard. This keeps the grounds clean, the beach has nice white sand that is also so clean. The pool is just right for a nice dip before supper oh and doctor birds fly around the pool and buzz your head. I plan to hand feed them next time we go there with 50% sugar & 50% water mix.
The AC was the best we have had I had to keep it at 25 most places have old units that you have to keep at 19 just to cool the room. The butler Deano was always there to keep our drinks full and help us with any needs. He does a good Barbeque Rib out on the outdoor grill. It is also nice to have a generator as Jamaican’s drink a lot of rum and tend to run into the utility poles. What is also nice and new, Is a Tasty Patties Bakery just 3 minutes away these are like heaven in a crusty taco shell made of pie dough cooked to a flake. The snorkeling at Linga Awile has also been the best. We have seen Octopus, Eels and Turtles just off the dock a few 100 feet out.
We loved everything about Linga - Our expectations were met and EXCEEDED!
Our staff - which we liked to refer to as our Team (it was hard getting used to be looked after like that!) - were everything and more! Casi, Dawn, Deanoe, and Paul are a fabulous group of people and they quickly became family. It was so hard to leave Linga - and even harder to leave our Jamaican family!
Spent a week last winter and this winter at this wonderful home and wish we could "Lingawhile" longer! Have been vacationing in Jamaica for years but decided to do something different by renting a villa with friends for a week. It was so wonderful last year the whole group of us decided almost immediately to return this year. I think we were there a few hours this year when we decided as a group we were returning next year. The setting is perfect and the staff is wonderful. Always felt like it was our home and the staff went out of their way to make us feel that way. Cassita's cooking is unbelievable, and the rest of the staff made sure the house was spotless and welcoming and there was always plenty of cold Red Stripes nearby. A perfect way to chillax.
Linga Awile is an amazingly peaceful place. Discovery Bay has, thankfully, not yet been discovered by the mega resorts that are cloning themselves elsewhere in Jamaica. It is a place of sun, sand, warmth and welcome! Jenni was so gracious to let us arrive a day early due to the massive storm that closed down the SE US, and Casita, Cheryl and Deano gave up their day off to welcome us. It only got better from there. The kids spent hours each day in the pool and the adults Linga'd on the Veranda and Gazebo. We all swam in the warm ocean, kayaked and melted in sunshine and 85F. Around the area we enjoyed the caves, horseback riding - into the ocean no less - rafting, and a magical visit to Glistening Waters. We went to local markets and tourist markets, shopped in the local grocery store, and came home each night to a comfortable home, and amazing meals. Don't miss Casita's fried chicken, or coconut moaa, or the talapia! Cheryl kept us in dry towels and dry floors and keeps a spotless house. Deano served us coconut fresh from the tree, every meal, took care of the yard and allowed us the priviledge of getting to know him better in the evening. Moma Casita, Auntie Cheryl and Brother Deano, we have already booked the same time for next year!
