Minturn House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms, 4.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

A beautiful, new single family home with a contemporary feel, completed in January 2010. This is a one of a kind home with high end finishes throughout. Located right at the end of the famous Minturn Mile back country trail - ski from Vail mountain to your door! In summer, the hiking trail to Lionshead Rock is right out the back door. The spectacular great room is elegantly furnished and ideal for family gatherings or small groups, with unbelievable mountain and cliff views in all directions. There are sliding glass doors out to a large deck at the front and patio at the back. The kitchen has modern gloss cabinets and granite work tops. The master bedroom has sliding glass doors to a balcony overlooking Meadow Mountain, a king bed, a beautiful limestone bathroom with huge soaker tub and a steam shower. The three guest bedrooms all have queen beds and limestone bathrooms ( one with a large shower, the other two with bath/shower) The third guest room also has a full sleeper sofa. There is a mud room and a 2 car heated garage with ski racks. Must be seen to appreciated. Homes this nice are normally not rented.

About Tom Sullivan

We first came to the Vail Valley 15 years ago and fell in love with Minturn. It is great to stay in a real mountain town and be only a 10 minutes drive from two of the greatest ski resorts in the world - Vail and Beaver Creek. We live in England most of the year, but our lovely new mountain home with its cool modern feel and spectacular views makes us long for the ski season and the beautiful Colorado summers. We hope you love it as much as we do.

Tom Sullivan purchased this house in 2009

Why Tom Sullivan chose Northwest Colorado

We love Minturn and we love skiing.

What makes this house unique

There are very few homes that are truly ski in off of Vail Mountain and this is one of them. The back country trail The Minturn Mile is a great way to end the day. Leave through the back country access gate at the top of the Lost Boy run off of Game Creek Chair #7. Ski down the powder field at top and then follow the run off along Game Creek. it is about an hour run and at the end is our home. It is a very soft back country experience with no chance of avalanche and difficult to get lost.

Perfect ski home at the foot of Minturn Mile

  • 5 of 5

My family has been renting in Vail for ski vacations for 25 years, and we finally have found the perfect home. The interior is gorgeous, kitchen top notch and the gas fireplace, high end audio and gas grill provide every reason to stay at home. For those that ski the Minturn Mile, this is the first house, literally, at the foot of the trail. The views from the top floor are spectacular. Tom was easy to work with and very responsive. If you have thought about staying outside crowded Vail Village, I promise if you try this once, you will never go back, and of course, the Village is still just a 10 minute car ride away. We will be back!

Wonderful Home!!

  • 5 of 5

And that is exactly what you get--a home. Not just a house that someone rents out. This place has every amenity you could hope for. The manager, Tom, is quick to respond to any communication, and to do what he can to make sure your stay is fantastic! We are a family of 10--parents; 3 grown daughters; 2 sons-in-law; and 3 grandchildren. We were truly "at home" in this place. We were there to celebrate a late Christmas together & ski. The owners had been there just before us and were very gracious to leave their decorations, including a huge, live Christmas tree up! What a delight for us all.

The lower level bedroom is a family room with a bed, and a pull-out sofa in it, so that was great for our family of four--they even had a pack-n-play for the littlest one. The middle level has the other 3 bedrooms--the master has a king bed, and a huge walk-in closet, so our family of 3 took that, making a bed for the 5-year-old grandson on the floor of the closet with extra pillows & comforters. He loved it--"just like camping, Nana!!". The master also has a large soaking tub and a steam shower. Our single daughter took one of the bedrooms with a queen bed, and my husband and I took the other. The one we had had the smallest of all the bathrooms, but I chose it because it was one of the two "walk-in" showers, and I'd just had back surgery in December. The other two bedrooms have bathtubs with showers. All are beautifully tiled, and very nice.

Laundry room is on this floor, too.

You want to cook in?? Well, you'll find everything you need in the very well equipped kitchen! Dishes, glasses, silverware, pots & pans, serving dishes, cooking utensils, spices, etc. It is all there. The Kitchen and living area (or great room) takes up the whole top floor. Windows all around, and the views are fantastic! The gas fireplace was a very popular spot after the days of skiing or sledding! The table is big enough to seat us all comfortably. The HUGE island & the regular countertops are beautiful marble, and the island even has another sink w/garbage disposal in case the large regular sink is taken. The half bath is also located on the top floor.

Too can ski-in from Vail on the Minturn Mile run, if you wish. Our group skied/boarded Beaver Creek every day, so no one in our group did that, but every day, I saw people making their last run "into town".

Obviously, I can't say enough good, no GREAT, about this place. SOOOOOOO worth the money!!!!

Perfect spot for skiing

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this house during spring break and it was perfect. I took a group of senior boys skiing and one of the other mothers brought out some younger girls. We skied at Ski Cooper (which is a drive but worth it with the cheaper prices and no lines) and normally stay in the Avon area but wanted something a little closer but couldn't find something for both of us so we joined groups and it was great. As long as you don't mind stairs as the kitchen/Living area is on the top floor! The kitchen was well supplied and Tom answered our questions quickly. The only thing that we didn't come prepared enough for were some of the soaps/paper supplies. The decks were great and the kids grilled every night so we didn't check out the restaurants downtown. You are close to Avon/Vail/BC if you want to go there for an evening or supplies. We went ice skating in Beaver Creek as well as some groceries that we didn't bring with us. Had there been snow like a normal year it would have been beautiful looking out from the decks but it was a very warm spring. We were close enough to Minturn that we did walk downtown and looked around. It was a great place with lots of room to spread out and let the boys have their own area as well as the girls had their own area. The heated garage was nice but only one of our vehicles could fit in as they were both large. It was beautiful but spoiled the kids from staying at other places!! If we have the right number of kids in the future we would definitely consider staying there. Would highly recommend it to anyone that doesn't mind stairs with the high altitude.

Family ski reunion

  • 5 of 5

Minturn is a charmingly funky little town conveniently located between Vail and Beaver Creek. Our skiing family (two parents, two married children with wives, one grand-daughter, and one adult daughter) had been looking forward to a reunion where we could all ski together once again by bringing together the eastern family and the western transplants. This exquisite 4 bedroom house provided the ideal venue for our reunion in the Colorado Rockies! The house is very light and spacious with first-rate construction details. The views are great, the furnishings are gracious and the manager was very responsive to our needs. We look forward to returning with family and/or friends.
