About Bill & Calina Eckert

Calina is a Native San Diegan, and Bill arrived in San Diego with the Navy in 1975. We married in 1977, and vowed to someday move to the Beach. We built our dream home in North Mission Beach and move in the summer of 2002.

Calina retired from Teledyne Ryan Aeronautical in the late 1990’s and Bill retired from L3 Communications and the U. S. Naval reserve, in 2008. We now enjoy traveling to places we always dreamed of visiting but couldn’t, with our busy work schedules.

Why Bill & Calina Eckert chose Cathedral City

When the weather got a little chilly in San Diego in winter months, we loved to visit our friends in Palm Springs. In the late 1980’s we bought a Condo at the Village Racquet Club and enjoyed as many weekends there as possible.

We started advertising our Village Racquet Club Condo on VRBO in 2002 and were successful renting 3 winter months each year to folks in northern climbs wanting to escape the cold.

In 2002 we also learned about a luxury housing complex to break ground about a mile east of the Palm Springs airport and adjacent to the Cimarron Cove Golf Resort. We purchased our new, Cimarron Cove Luxury Home in 2005, moving in that December. For the last 11 years, when we were not able to enjoy our Palm Springs home, we’ve been very fortunate to share our Cimarron Cove home with vacationers from the US and Canada for several months of the year as we had done with our Village Racquet Club Condo.

Very beautiful home in a nice relaxed neighborhood and friendly neighbors.

This house was basically a home for me while traveling for work. It had all the essentials and more to make it a very nice stay. The home owners are great people and very friendly, whenever i had a question they answered me within minutes. Would definetly recommend this house to anyone very clean and organized home.

Owner's Response: We enjoyed hosting Justin and his work partners from Texas. They performed a very needed maintenance on the Coachella Valley windmills and their work schedule was extended several times from June to their departure in October 2017. Justin and his partners were very respectful (Texans, right?) and treated our home as their own. We couldn't have asked for better guests. It was comforting for us to know that they had a relaxing place to return to at the end of their work days and had virtually all the amenities they could want in a home away from home. They also had a chance to treat their boss, visiting from Amarillo, to a fancy dinner in our cozy dining area off the living room. We hope to be able to host Justin and his crew again next summer when we're sure the windmills will need maintenance again. Sincerely, Bill & Calina

Fantastic Rental!

This was the second time we stayed at Bill & Calina's Cimarron Cove home. The house is in a very quiet gated community. Security patrols the area so it is very safe and the location is terrific...close to shopping, grocery shopping, restaurants, downtown Palm Springs, the airport and even the I-10 to get you to and from the outlet malls.

The house is very spacious and impeccably clean (I'm a bit of a clean freak so for me to say that IT'S CLEAN!). It is also very well maintained and has everything you could possibly need. The beds in all 3 spacious and very private bedrooms are very comfortable. We really enjoyed the BBQ with the surround sound music while dining outdoors. The weather was very warm so we also enjoyed the misters and ceiling fans on the covered patio. We also enjoyed the calming sound of the waterfall in the backyard. We didn't use the spa as the weather was very warm but it looked great.The neighbors were very friendly and even the gardener always had a pleasant smile and a friendly word to say.

The community pool was very close and it was terrific. There were lots of tables, umbrellas and lounge chairs and even had BBQ's so you cook out at the pool if you wished.

The photos of the indoors are very accurate whereas the outdoor pictures were taken before the cover was added to the patio and the landscaping at the front was it's nicer than the pictures. What a great place to relax and enjoy the desert.

Bill and Calina are extremely responsive to any inquiries and needs you may have...very nice people to work with. We highly recommend this property without any hesitation.

Hidden Gem

A group of friends and I stayed at this lovely home for Coachella. There were 6 adults and we were all very delighted with how spacious the home was. (The pictures don't do it justice.) The backyard was perfect for barbecuing burgers and enjoying the desert sunset. The community pool was nice to cool down in, and beds were comfortable. The home owners were very accommodating and answered all my questions very promptly.

We definitely plan on staying here next year!

We like to meet newcomers so we can do a quick walk-through to familiarize them with all of the amenities in our home and the community. We also post information on the fridge and in the office, but the personal walk-through seems to resolve any potential issues.

We loved this large modern well furnished house in a gated area of Cathedral City.It is near shopping,golfing and downtown Palm Springs which has lots of great restaurants and the best street scene in the valley.

They highlighted some of the same things we love about our location in Cathedral City - closeness to numerous stores and restaurants, to golfing, and to downtown Palm Springs, with all of it's activities. Our Cimarron Cove HOA and management company are very vigilant keeping our gated community quiet, safe and well maintained. We look forward to their next visit.
