About The Owner

I lived and worked in Santa Fe for 17 years and found my career as an artist there. Santa Fe has a charm and 'vibe' that is addictive - one of the most artistically stimulating places in the world - the natural beauty, native Hispanic and Native American heritage, and lovely people permeate this place with positive, creative energy. I bought this house and renovated it thinking I would move back to Santa Fe permanently. Although my work has taken me elsewhere, this house is a treasure and I love to share it. My primary work has been the restoration and renovation of the interiors of several historic churches including the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis 1 block from the historic Santa Fe Plaza as well as San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church on the plaza in Old Town Albuquerque. Google John Alan Design to see some of this work.

Cozy, comfortable... they thought of everything!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I spent four nights in the Santa Fe Artist's Retreat. The two bedroom, two bath accommodations were perfect for us. Nice fully equipped kitchen, TVs with good Internet connection. Easy drives to the sites of Santa Fe and the Tune Up Cafe is just 2 or 3 blocks away... a 'must do'.

Lovely Home, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay Santa Fe - the Plaza, Farmer's Market, churches and galleries, the aspens... so much to see. The house was clean and as described - just like the photos. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was great, close to many places. Rose, the manager, was readily available if needed. We would definitely recommend this house. Thanks for having us to stay!

Really Nice Place, Very Reasonable

  • 5 of 5

Lovely and comfortable, and loved being in the Railyard district ... close to everything ... restaurants and Wholefoods Market. Rose, the manager, cooked a wonderful authentic Santa Fe dinner for the four us that was ready the first night we arrived. The Chocolate Maven nearby is a MUST for a full breakfast or a sweet treat. The owner is easy to deal with and we definitely plan on staying there again. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had never been to Santa Fe before but after reading all the reviews for the artist retreat, we couldn't wait. This place was beautiful and convenient to everything. Rose, the care taker, was amazing! She waited for us to get in from our late flight, showed us around the home and was just a phone call away if we needed her!!! We would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a charming place to stay while in Santa Fe!!!! And definitely eat at the Tuneup, which is within walking distance, very yummy!!!!

Wonderful, wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This condo is just the best. Great location, very clean with comfortable beds and good lighting. This was our first time in Santa Fe and I have to say when we drove up and saw the gate and the wall, we were a little worried. But, inside it looks exactly like the pictures - beautiful! We were there in a chilly March, but it was fine. Big heavy curtains for nighttime that pull back to let the sun shine in everywhere. Parking was easy; the caretaker was so helpful and full of information and there was a well-stocked library to help us decide where to tour. If we are ever in Santa Fe again, we will try to stay here. In the meantime, I highly recommend it!
