This 2 story 'A' frame cabin was originally built by our family in the 1960's and has been in the family ever since. We have had many Holidays here.
I am surprised at the 5 star reviews. After staying here for a few days, I am convinced these reviews were done by friends/family members. Kim was was pleasant over email and phone prior to our arrival. We were very excited about our trip.
As soon as we arrived we noticed that there was a bunch of condiments and food in the freezer and fridge. Coffee maker, pots and pans were extremely dirty and dusty. There were a pair of dirty socks on the floor near the couch. The tv stand was extremely dusty and filthy. There was a bunch of old cereal stuck between the openings of the dining table.
A few of my family members brought their laptops to do some work. The wifi was not showing up. We contacted Kim about it and she said to log into an unsecured network and said, "well that's your only option!" Not once was she apologetic. One of the shorter stools was broken. The light bulb in the living room was broken when we got here. We left the house much cleaner then how it was left for us. The bathrooms were extremely dirty, we were very uncomfortable taking showers. My nephew was looking for a toy behind and under the couch; we found socks, food, a dirty beanie (in between the couch cushions-it was full of dust and pet hair). We walked in and there was a bottle of Clorox just in the middle of the floor. The beds we're extremely uncomfortable; one was very hard and the others had springs poking our backs.
After we checked out I emailed Kim about our stay. It has been almost 2 weeks and she has yet to acknowledge my email. Very unprofessional!!
Our group of 12 people stayed at the Heavenly Valley Ski Cabin in early January. The house had enough beds to accommodate everyone in our party. The location is unbelievably convenient (only a hundred or so feet from Heavenly Ski Resort's parking lot. It was nice to be able to ski in the morning, come back for a filling lunch, and get right back to skiing in the afternoon. The price is hard (if not impossible) to beat for larger groups.
Looking forward to staying here in the future.
I got married last weekend in Lake Tahoe and needed a big place for some of the family members to stay with us. I searched online and stumbled onto this property so I contacted the owner and it was available for my dates. I was skeptical because at the time it had no reviews and I'm a yelper!! Sure enough I mailed her a check and that same week she not only mailed me a key but a map on how to get there. (Driving to Lake Tahoe was a nightmare, there was a fatal accident and we did not get to the cabin until 11pm on Friday) I ignored the map and mapquested the address. BIG MISTAKE!! the roads were closed, eventually I pulled out her map and sure enough made it there. It's very close to restaurants, Heavenly Skii Resort, and grocery stores. I drive a Corolla and needed chains to get up the driveway but my other fam did not with their SUV. The parking is wide and log enough for multiple cars. The house was very clean, and once the heater kicked on the house warmed up nicely, so much so that in the middle of the night we were warm and toasty. There were more than enough beds, extra mattresses in almost every closet, extra sheets, lots of towels, a good selection of movies, lots of firewood, and many dishes to feed an entire army on. I felt at home there, nice and cozy. The only complaint I would have is that we ran out of hot water rather quickly the day of my wedding and everyone needed to take a shower but that's expected anywhere. The area is beautiful, I'm from the Bay Area and had not been to the snow in years!! I'm so glad we stayed there, and I hope to return soon. There's even a bbq pit thing inside! and a huge grill for the outside. The fireplace is huge, we found lots of board games to play and even a dog leash to tie the kids up with (jk) we forgot ours. We had an amazing time and thank the family who owns this cabin for sharing it with us!
We stayed at the Heavenly Valley Ski Cabin with a large group ~ 15 people. Everyone had their own bed! The space is homey and perfect for spending time together inside, but also super close to all that South Lake Tahoe has to offer. From the big family dining table to the warm fireplace, everything was cozy and perfect! We had all the amenities we needed in the kitchen to make our Thanksgiving feast, and we enjoyed walking to Heavenly to hit the slopes. Kim was a pleasure to work with and you can tell that her family has loved this cabin for decades! I look forward to staying there again in the future.
We stayed here this past weekend and let me just say it was the first family vacation we've ever taking together with my 3 sisters, brother, mom and all our kids. The minute we walked in we felt at home the house has 5 large bedrooms which accomadated every single one of our families perfectly. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It is literealy a few steps away from Heavinly ski area, sledding and less than a 5 min drive to casinos etc. We absolutely fell in love with this cabin and we are already looking forward to going back to celebrate more family gatherings. Thank you Kim for allowing us to enjoy an excellent weekend in your home.
