Winter HOLIDAY Special!

Eco-Friendly Lodging in Yellowstone

Come experience the magic of Yellowstone National Park. Our custom log lodge, located just 5 miles from the north entrance of Yellowstone, is just the place to hang your hat after a long day of Yellowstone adventuring. This 4 bedroom, 3 bath, 3000 sq. ft custom cabin/timber frame home luxuriously sleeps 8-10. Reclaimed lumber, true plaster, slate, hardwood flooring, and unique western touches ornate this vacation rental. Enjoy a cup of coffee or a gourmet meal on the expansive deck while soaking in the immense views of Yellowstone, specifically the steam from Mammoth Hot Springs. Let the sounds of Bear Creek soothe your soul.

The Sunny Slope Lodge is located in an ideal location for Yellowstone touring, sightseeing and wildlife watching. Natural hot springs, horseback riding, fly fishing, wolf watching, rafting, hiking, even museums and gourmet dining are less than 30 minutes away. During the winter months, you can snowshoe or cross country ski from the cabin, take a snow coach or snowmobile tour into Yellowstone or head out on a truly unique dog sledding adventure.

Let us be your home away from home and make memories lasting a lifetime.

“Our goal is for each guest to have the best possible experience in Yellowstone and they can pick from a myriad of adventures to fit their groups needs and desires,” said lodge owner Lisa Coleman.

I have been a Yellowstone back country ranger for many years and am happy to help you arrange all activities including but not limited to fly fishing, hiking, rafting, horseback riding, dog sledding, and tours within Yellowstone.

About Lisa Coleman

I own and manage all of my vacation rentals to provide the special attention that each guest deserves. I was a backcountry ranger in Yellowstone for many years and am happy to help you arrange activities in and outside of the park. My goal is for each guest to have a Yellowstone adventure that they will never forget.

Why Lisa Coleman chose Yellowstone

We built this home from recycled materials found in Montana. The original building was an old homestead built in the 1800's that a farmer was going to burn down. Instead, we tore down the logs and re-stacked it in Jardine. Other materials include an old fence torn down by a neighbor. The walls are plaster with slate in the bathrooms and kitchen. This used to be our home and we loved the unique touches. Please come and see for yourself the beauty in recycling.

What makes this lodge unique

The Sunny Slope Lodge is only 5 miles to the north gate of Yellowstone and the town of Gardiner. The park, restaurants, shops, activities are all at your fingertips yet you may never want to leave the house. You truly feel out of the hustle and bustle of town and Yellowstone yet you are only a stone's throw away from everything.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"What a beautiful setting and the house is gorgeous too! I rented this place to have a xmas gathering for me and 7 of my friends. We couldn't of chosen a better place. The house was clean and well equipped and the beds were extremely comfortable. None of us wanted to get up in the morning. I would definitely recommend this place and I myself would love to stay again sometime. The North entrance to Yellowstone National Park is only a few miles away, which is super convenient. If you plan to stay here during the winter, be sure to have good tires or 4wheel drive if there is snow on the ground. The driveway can be a challenge for a wimpy sedan :)"

Absolutely gorgeous lodge just outside Yellowstone

  • 5 of 5

Incredible! Large yet cozy cabin with long sweeping views of the mountains. Just minutes from the north entrance of Yellowstone while still maintaining a secluded, private atmosphere. Easy access to dining options, shopping and cafes in the surrounding area. The lodge itself is stunning with high ceilings, comfy bedrooms and a fantastic kitchen. Large deck with a grill for family BBQs.

The detail of the woodwork and decor is phenomenal.

Nothing short of outstanding!

Beautiful, upscale lodge right outside Yellowstone

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed in many of the VRBO options around Yellowstone, and the 'Sunny Slope Lodge' is definitely the best option that is anywhere near the front entrance of the park. The location is perfect: close enough to Gardiner for a grocery run or dinner but separated by a 5-mile dirt road (well maintained). You can be in the park in fewer than 15 minutes, but the area around the lodge itself is beautiful and scenic. There is a trailhead nearby that runs into unbroken wilderness to the north and south in case you're seeking hiking outside of the park.

The home itself is of excellent and beautiful construction. All of the pictures are accurate and yet they under-represent how nice the house is. The house has beds for 8 people but could comfortably fit 10 or perhaps more.

Highly recommended!

Quiet rustic lodge perfect for a park vacation

  • 5 of 5

Sunny Slope Lodge was a wonderful, rustic home base while we explored the north end of Yellowstone. Lisa was extremely responsive to our emails and ensured we had what we needed for our stay. I am a gourmet home cook and was quite pleased with the kitchen, grill, and tools provided. We cooked the majority of our time there, but check out KBar Pizza while in town as well. Delicious! Since cable or satellite is not provided, I would encourage future visitors to bring DVDs if you want to relax with TV. I would stay here again and highly recommend it.
