Hilltop House w 360-degree views: Yellowstone River and Mountains - Stars Galore
Our beautiful hilltop home on 4 acres in the heart of Paradise Valley is an ideal location from which to tour Yellowstone Park. Enjoy breathtaking views of Emigrant Peak, Yellowstone River and the Paradise Valley while relaxing on our wrap-around deck, around the fire pit, grilling on the patio, or playing PING PONG! With views like these, you may not want to leave the house! Our 3-bedroom + loft home easily accommodates 8-10 people. Come enjoy the quiet serenity, sweet mountain air, unparalleled views for miles & Milky Way stars galore - in the privacy of this luxurious, peaceful spot.
Paradise valley offers Yellowstone River fly fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, horseback riding and some of the best scenic beauty Montana has to offer. Famous Chico Hot Springs is close by. Soak in the mineral waters or dine at their wonderful gourmet restaurant. We truly look forward to welcoming you to our home!
Attractions: Yellowstone River, only 5 minutes away, is famous for it's trout-fishing. The river meanders all through the valley, so if fishing or playing on the river is your passion, do make this your destination and indulge it to the full!
If you happen to arrive at dusk, you may find yourself greeted by a hillside full of deer! Watch closely as you drive up - their colors blend in with the hills. Or watch them cross just below the house in the morning. You are free to hike and roam the hills around the house - keeping a respectful distance from other homes & fence lines.
MEALS! -- Kitchen & Patio Grilling: The large, gourmet kitchen provides all you need (from cookware & utensils to crystal wine & champagne glasses) to create home-cooked meals whenever you choose to 'eat in.' The kitchen table, the grill on the patio or our new large deck are the best spots to congregate with full-on views of the mountains, river & valley! With plenty of room & seating for 12 in the farm-style kitchen, along with the wide-open, top-of-the-hill views from the dining room & patio, preparing and enjoying meals here will be one of your most memorable times.
The living room has comfortable seating to watch TV (or a DVD from our library), read a book, daydream or just gaze out one of the many large windows to watch the weather move thru the valley. It is open to the kitchen, so even a large group of people may enjoy their time together in the 2100 sq ft. open floor plan.
Accommodations: Our home easily accommodates 8-10 people. A king size bed in Master bedroom & large soak-er tub & shower in the master bathroom indulge your sense of privacy & comfort. A queen bedroom upstairs is across the hall from the 2nd bathroom (shower). The 3rd bedroom is also upstairs & has 2 twin beds. A full size futon is available in the loft area (with birds-eye views of both the house & surrounding areas). Two twin air mattresses for use in any room, allows us to accommodate up to 10 people. Luxury linens go a long way to ensuring everyone has an excellent night's rest.
The open loft area is a great spot for the kids to hang out after a busy day outdoors, with games, puzzles, and books, or choose a selection from the video library, with many titles to pick from. Connect to the outside world with wireless high-speed internet access. Your vacation home is completely prepped before you arrive & cleaned after your stay.
Come & be renewed in the peace & beauty of this wonderful Valley!

About Kevin and Debbie
Hi there, we love to be outdoors in the Natl Parks and Rocky Mountains! We look forward to sharing our home with you, as you experience your own time under the big skies of Montana, where the clean mountain air, bright stars and that wild west adventure await you!
Kevin and Debbie purchased this House in 2010
Why Kevin and Debbie chose Emigrant
We have hiked, backpacked and fished in gorgeous mountainous areas for years and found this valley from which to base our adventures! And so close to Yellowstone too - what a bonus! Emigrant Peak beckons from just across the valley, which we hiked/climbed Sept 2010 - about 6 miles to the top at 10,900 ft - a challenging one for us!
What makes this House unique
Some of the best views in Paradise Valley - and all it has to offer, above and beyond our proximity to Yellowstone!

Great place. Everything was as advertised. View over the valley was amazing, house was clean and cozy, and make for easy access to Yellowstone.
We really enjoy staying in Debbie's house! It's so well decorated and the view is excellent!

The Stay at House on the Hill was very relaxing after touring Yellowstone Park for the day. It was a quiet reprieve from all the traffic and people at the park. The view was spectacular and we were able to sit out on the patio until after dark with no bugs!! Enjoyed it very much.
Wonderful, quiet home outside Yellowstone.
My husband and I and our 17yo son rented this house for a week. Our 2 college age sons and 4 of their friends drove out and stayed with us a couple of nights. We flew in to Bozeman and drove to Emigrant. This house has it all if you want to stay outside the park. We enjoyed the drive to the north entrance. We also explored Livingston, drove the Beartooth Highway, and did the Upper Loop in Yellowstone, Lamar Valley. Saw bears, bison, coyote, deer.
The house is high on a hill and very quiet and peaceful. It was equipped with everything we needed and more. It was very clean. Plenty of linens, board games, ping pong, guide books, kitchen with every pot or pan you could need, coffee, tea, spices, washer/dryer, etc. We cooked every morning and several nights. The first 2 days the temperature reached 95 degrees and the house was really hot in the day, but cooled off at night (no A/C). They have plenty of big fans that help keep you cool if needed. The owners responded immediately when the power went out one night (it came back on after 2 hrs). We did encounter a rattlesnake right off the patio so we were just more careful after that. We would definitely stay here again! The view is fantastic and you will see beautiful sunrises over the peaks. Only used the fire pit once because the winds were very strong at times. Grocery store in Livingston and smaller one in Gardiner. Ate at Old Saloon, Wildflour bakery, Lighthouse, Yellowstone pizza, Rosa's pizza and Chophouse.
We did not drive to the lower part of Yellowstone. There was some road construction in the park that slowed down traffic.
This was our first time to stay in a VRBO house. Great experience, great owners, beautiful views, wonderful home. We all loved it.
Very well maintained home
Please read this if you are using the house in the heat of the summer!
There is no air conditioning in the home so please check the temperature before booking. Other than the air conditioning it is a lovely home with all the supplies you need. The owners are very nice and so easy to work with. We used the home for a family vacation to Yellowstone and loved the convenience of having the home base and sharing breakfast and dinner together.
I highly recommend this home if you are going during a season that is less hot than the first week of August.
The 10-day forecast (Aug 6-14) for Emigrant this morning shows lows of 48-55 with highs of 64-83, with low humidity. Our guests experienced a few days of unseasonably high temperatures, which can infrequently occur. Even on those hot days, the evenings cool off to the mid 50’s or lower. We recommend keeping the blinds and windows closed (as we indicated in the Guest Notebook binder) while you are gone during the day on your adventures in Yellowstone and then open them up when you return to let the cool evening breezes in. Our patio and large wrap-around deck are a great place to grill and enjoy the sunset and evening stars! Kevin and Debbie
Exactly as described on VRBO. Very well stocked & better than the pictures could show.
The house was exactly as described and stocked with the basics like toilet paper, Kleenex, lots of towels, soap, condiments, & paper towels as well as extras like bubble bath and q-tips. Everything about dealing with the owners was pleasant and their expectations were well defined. There was no doubt as to exactly what we needed to do upon arrival & checkout.
There is another home nearby that we didn't see in the picture so we weren't as isolated as we thought we would be but that wasn't a problem.
We used the house our home base for Yellowstone. It was a little far away for that though. We didn't realize that it took so long to drive within the park so we spent more time driving than we planned to. The home owner did tell us the driving distance to the north entrance so we were informed. We just underestimated the amount of time it would take to get to areas like Canyon and Lamar Valley. It worked out but equaled about 45 mins to 1.5 hours one way to drive to the areas where we wanted to be in the park.
The house doesn't have AC and we where there during usually warm temps. We got in late each night from Yellowstone and the house was warm since we didn't have the evenings there to open the windows. (It gets really cool in the evenings). Each room does have a fan to help cool it.
Overall, it's an awesome property and the best stocked VRBO I've stayed in. We enjoyed our time there. We even enjoyed the fire pit one night and made S'mores. Highly recommend the properly.
