|Minimum Stay||3 - 4 nights|
Beautiful 4 bed, 4 bath waterfront home on acreage in Courtenay. Bright and airy with 200 degree views of the ocean. Cozy fireplace and soaker tub inside, 4 person hot tub outside where you can relax and watch the eagles.
Main floor has a queen size bed, upper floor a queen bed and 2 twins, and ground floor an additional double bed. Each bedroom has its own bathroom.
Located 5 minutes from shops, restaurants and the Kingfisher spa, this relaxing retreat also has a wonderful beach out front that is child friendly and perfect for a stroll. Kayaks and bikes are included for those who want an active holiday, and the home is within 15 minutes of several lovely golf courses.
Fishing is great right out front of the house, on many local rivers, and with local charters. Convenient location to make daytrips to Hornby or Denman Islands, and only a quick 30 minute drive to the top of Mt. Washington. Something for everyone!
We are a family with one young child who enjoy the activities and climate of the Comox Valley.
Lisa Banks purchased this house in 2002
We came up to Courtenay one Valentine`s day to go skiing, and the weather was so nice we decided to spend the day golfing instead, followed by shopping and a great dinner out. We skied the very next day and were so enchanted by all the amazing things we could do here year round that we decided to build our dream house here. This is where we are hoping to retire and spend our time exploring, fishing, skiing, and golfing.
Golf, fishing, spa, exploring, fossil hunting, shopping, going to farmer's markets and art galleries, skiing, hiking, whale watching, bird watching, kayaking, biking, relaxing (whew).
We really had a wonderful time with our family in this spacious house. The kitchen is well equipped and there are toys for the children to play with. We wonder if a little more organisation would be helpful though. We would have liked a comprehensive booklet explaining the use of the house and equipment.It would save time when getting to know a new house and area. Also more drawer space and hanging space especially in the basement.(Also hangers which we went out and bought) There seemed to be linen in any available drawers which might be better stored in a basement cupboard.The Deck chairs could do with a refurb!
We loved the area and had a wonderful holiday and we never tired of time on the Deck enjoying the view, the Eagles and Deer.
This beautiful home is in a great location with an inviting and spacious layout with floor to ceiling windows to enjoy your ocean views. It is equipped with all the amenities you will need to enjoy your stay. All you need to do is decided what to bbq on the amazing deck overlooking the Royston wrecks. When the sun goes down you can enjoy the hot tub and then retire to the movie room to watch something on the big screen projector tv or enjoy a fire in the fireplace. My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The owners have thought of everything, including kayaks, board games, kids toys, an a fully stocked kitchen for all your cooking needs. They were very easy to communicate with and ready to quickly answer any questions or concerns that I had. This was hands down the best vacation rental experience I have had over the past 10 years !!!
A group of us were looking for a upscale, waterfront house to serve as our home base to do some golfing, kayaking and fishing in the Courtenay and Campbell River area. The home was absolutely perfect for our needs. It accommodated 6, each in their very spacious and comfortable bedroom ---we also rented the detached suite. The owners were more than helpful in organizing our stay. Don't be concerned about the Royston address, it is very well located and close to restaurants etc. Generally, everyone was totally impressed with the whole area, and surprisingly, the full array of available oysters!!
We recently stayed at this property when we visited the area for a family wedding. It was a great set up for three couples with each of us having our own bathroom. It is a beautiful house but needs a thorough cleaning (some spider webs, sticky floors and counter tops). We had hoped to use the bikes but one of them had a flat tire and we did not see a tire pump. Overall it is a very nice house and we had a pleasant stay.
This was our second time staying at this property and we enjoyed it equally as much as the first. The location and space was perfect for our needs. The owners are very accomodating, easy to communicate with and have provided an accurate listing of the property and all its amenities. The home is very well maintained and was clean upon our arrival. The availability of the optional detached suite was a great help! We had wonderful weather during our visit allowing us to thoroughly enjoy the beautifu setting which rivals many sought-after foreign destinations. Our dog loved it too!!! Thank you Lisa and Kent for another great family holiday.
I recently rented this home along with three of my golfing buddies for a three night stay and it was ideal for our needs. We are all semi-retired guys in our early 60's and are well beyond sharing bedrooms and bathrooms, so the lay out with four of each was perfect for us. The location is great, very central to lots of golf. We played Storey Creek, Pheasant Glen and Crown Isle while in the area. The view from the sun deck is fabulous and there was an eagle constantly hunting and feeding her fledgelings. We could also see the sun glinting off the mainland mountains while the sun rose over the Salish Sea.
In the house, the kitchen, dining room and great room are all connected which makes it all very social. There is a bedroom and bathroom on the main floor which is good for anyone with trouble with stairs. Upstairs, there are two beds and baths including the master which has a great view over the estuary. The fourth bed and bath is in the basement along with the hot tub which we made good use of. The kitchen is very well equipped and we had some great dinners. There is a very large high capacity fridge and nice island for assembling meals.
All-in-all, we had a first class experience, the owners are great god deal with and we will have no hesitation renting from them again. Highly recommended!
Courtenay is well known for fossil hunting - check out the Paleontology museum. Whale watching and wildlife tours are also very popular. Golf, fishing, and skiing are all available in the immediate areas.
