The house is light and open with summer amenities including window unit air conditioning, washer/dryer, dishwasher, flat screen TV, cable/wireless internet, ceiling fans, outside deck, outdoor shower, private yard, BBQ grill, fire pit, and ample parking.
Narragansett is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in New England. Within walking distance is Kelly Beach, home of the Bonnet Shores Beach Club. This family friendly beach is great for collecting shells, building sandcastles and playing in the gentle waves. Also, walking distance to Little Beach with views of Jamestown and Newport Bridges.
Down the road is Narragansett Town Beach (The Pier), great for avid surfers and boogie boarders. The town has many attractions such as the Towers, The Coast Guard House and 'the wall', Narragansett's famed seawall.
Dining: Narragansett is home to many iconic restaurants. Aunt Carrie's is a seafood establishment which has been in business for over 90 years. Little in this restaurant has changes since it's opening day. Spain Restaurant is another local favorite. This restaurant serves up Spanish cuisine to a packed house almost every night. Great for the kids is the Mew's Tavern in nearby Wakefield. A tree in the middle of the restaurant provides kids the opportunity to write their names with marker (and not get into trouble)! And the funky 'Got Beer/Need Beer' signs further enhances the casual, fun nature of this great establishment,
Nearby: No trip to RI is complete without at least one day trip to Newport. Home of the mansions, Fort Adams and countless festivals, Newport is a tourists paradise with something for everyone. In nearby Charlestown, RI there is the 'Fantastic Umbrella Factory' a quirky outdoor shopping experience complete with cafe, and petting zoo....definitely something not seen every day!! Watch Hill in Westerly is another great day trip. Home to the country's oldest carousel and some of the most breathtaking homes in RI, it is a day trip everyone will love.
Our family lives in MA and has been coming to Bonnet Shores for 45 years. Many, many happy memories growing up on Kelly Beach, building sand castles, playing wiffle ball on the beach and with kids in the neighborhood. Now my kids and their cousins are building memories here :)
Ted & Keri Keenan purchased this house in 2015
Beach house near most beautiful hidden beach in New England, Kelly Beach. Moderate water temperatures and surf make it ideal for swimming and playing in the water. Rocks at either end of the beach for exploring hermit crabs and sea life. Also walking distance to Little Beach, the Point, and Wesquage Pond. Family friendly area with lots of kids riding bikes, short drive to Brickley's Ice Cream. Dinner at Coast Guard House or a day trip to Newport/Jametown are great options.
Great balance of price and walking distance to Kelly Beach and Little Beach.
My family loved this house! There was plenty of room for us to spread out and it was a short walk to the beach. There was shopping close by and several good restaurants to choose from. We are looking forward to going back!
We love Bonnet! This home was perfect for our family of 5! It was a quick bike ride to and from Kelly beach. The home had an outdoor shower which made it quick and easy to get all the sand off from our daily beach visits. It was a very hot mugy 1st week and the air conditioners in each room made it comfortable. The open kitchen dinning and living room was perfect for family time each night, we played board games together and watch the Olympic Games. Brickleys ice cream was a fun after dinner treat, we also went to the coast guard house for dinner and seaside on the pier, walked the small shops and enjoyed the sunset view. One day we took a break from the beach and drove to the mystic aquarium in CT, beautiful place great for kids, we all enjoyed it very much. Roches market had great fresh meats which I picked up daily for dinner and grilled. One night we took the kids to adventure land for mini golf, and bumper boats, warning, you get really wet! I would recommend this home for a rental, I know I will be back next year. Thank you for having such a wonderful place for my family to stay and enjoy RI!
We had a great time at Bonnet Shores this summer and our stay at this lovely beach house had a lot to do with it! This house is probably the fourth that we have rented over the years in Bonnet, and it has been the one that we have enjoyed the most and met our needs best. It was very clean and well maintained. We loved the natural light and airiness of it! It was just the right size for my husband and me, and two older teens, a son and daughter. There was plenty of room for us to have our extended family visit. I, the bird lover in the family, loved the trees in the backyard that provided privacy and attracted some terrific birds. Best of all it was just the right walking distance from the beach, about 10 minutes if you walk slowly.
We highly recommend it to others and hope to re-book it for next year. If you're looking for a cute, fully furnished beach get-away that's a stone's throw from Kelly Beach, this is the house! You won't be disappointed!!!
We stayed here June 2016, and we had a wonderful time. The owners were very responsive and accommodating. House was clean and updated, comfortable for my family of three and parents. It was a nice short walk to the beach. We had a great time visiting the mansions in Newport as well.
I was a college student at the University of Rhode Island this past year and rented out this house with two of my friends for the school year. It is a lovely, little house that had everything that we needed in it. Any issues that we had with the house (which was not many at all) were very quickly dealt with by the owners, which was great! This would be a perfect summer rental because it is close to Bonnet Shores Beach and it is very close to different stores and coffee shops and especially Brickley's Ice Cream which is a perfect treat after a day at the beach.
Great house for our family of 4 and my parents. Updated and well kept with decent size living/dining area. Nice deck for after-beach cocktail and meals. Walking distance to Bonnet Beach and some other cool stuff. Love this area!
Golf: There are several public golf courses within a 20 minute ride of the home. Jamestown and Newport are across the bridges.
