Cute cottage in picture-perfect Mystic
A charming cottage with comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Just a 10-minute walk to the drawbridge and a 5-minute walk to Mystic Seaport. We loved sailing on the Argia, ice cream at Mystic Drawbridge Icecream and dinner on the terrace at Latitude 41.
For trips further afield, the cottage is well situated for visiting the Connecticut River Valley, (Gillette Castle and the Essex Steam Train are both worth a visit). Rhode Island (Newport) is around an hours drive away and also worth a visit.
Great location and adorable home
Owners were fantastic. Responsive to all questions and needs. Home is adorable and worked well for our family’s needs. The upstairs bedrooms are up steep stairs with slanted ceilings. We had one member of our party who couldn’t do stairs but they stayed in the downstairs bedroom. Two bathrooms, both on main floor. Wonderful backyard and easy walk to downtown mystic.
Very quaint but incredibly functional
Six of us stayed for a weekend to celebrate the 65th birthday of my sister. The home is very welcoming. The first floor has an open floor plan between the large eat-in kitchen and the living room which accommodated all of us quite well. We spent quite a bit of time at the dining table in the back yard. The proximity of the house to the town is perfect. It' a quick walk into town. The kitchen was fully equipped. The first floor bedroom and bath is very nice for anyone with mobility issues. Thanks to Wendy and James who made us feel right at home.
Classic house in idyllic town
Cheers to James and Wendy!
Their house, which combines some modern amenities with some old school character, was the perfect fit for a recent trip I took there with my wife, 60-plus year old parents, and brother and sister-in-law.
The home has a big enough back yard to grill and relax as well as a nice open living/kitchen and dining room area that never felt cramped for the six of us.
There is a king bed on the first floor, and two rooms upstairs - one with a couple of single beds and one with a queen. Both of them have wall mounted AC units.
To top it off, the abode is a few minutes stroll from the restaurants and other action this idyllic seaside town has to offer.
I would recommend this house. We had no issues whatsoever.
Great location, charming home
We stayed here 5 years ago during our first family trip to Mystic and we enjoyed our stay even more this time! The home has been updated to have a large open kitchen and living room. With 3 bedrooms we were very comfortable as a family of 6. I also was so happy that they had a pack n play and booster high chair for my baby to use. Another big plus was the home is in a wonderful location, walking distance to downtown Mystic, the Seaport and a charming park for the kids to play.
The owners are a pleasure to work with and we'd certainly stay again! Thanks for a great vacation!
Great location in a comfortable cozy home
Our family of 6 stayed at the Dennison Cottage and truly enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect, our kids had sailing camp at the Seaport which is a 5 min walk, and we enjoyed the short walk to town for dinner or ice cream nearly every day. The home had everything we needed and was totally comfortable for all of us. We also loved the backyard and outdoor dining set. Overall, it was a great experience for us, and we will seek to stay again next year.
Living in Mystic has been like being on permanent vacation for our family! There is always something to do, from walking to the point of Napatree, to mountain biking at bluff point, lounging on amazing beaches, and spoiled for choice with local restaurants. And on cold nights we may even take the short 15 minute drive to Foxwoods for a bit of gaming.
