Wonderful 1770 built cape with views of the Mystic River. Five minutes walk to Historic Mystic Seaport, five minutes walk to the numerous restaurants, bars and shops on Main Street. Five minutes drive to Mystic Aquarium and Olde Mystick Village. Just ten minutes drive to the nearest beaches and twenty to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos. The house underwent major improvements in the Spring of 2014 (kitchen extension, second bathroom, and third bedroom). There will be accommodation for 8; two in each bedroom and a very comfortable pull out sofa in the living area.
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely house. The house included all the basic amenities plus some as added bonus! We loved the house book which included restaurant & activity recommendations. We pretty much used this as our guide for our stay. We loved that we could walk to most attractions & restaurants so it was easy to return to Mystic Seaport for 2nd day. I would highly recommend this house to others. The owners were very responsive and pleasant to deal with too. Thank you Wendy! Your house is fab!
My husband and I spent a lovely week at the John Denison house while exploring Mystic and surrounding areas. Unique cottage with history but updated for comfort. It was well located, quick walk to shops and the Mystic Seaport. Owners Wendy and James have outfitted the house so well, like being at home. Peaceful setting. We really appreciated the book letting us know particulars about the house and sightseeing recommendations.

We absolutely loved our stay in the house! Location is ideal, walk to everything: fabulous shops, restaurants, and activities. We walked to the aquarium, the seaport, the shops. We took a short drive to the beautiful Misquamicut Beach, and another short drive to the USS Nautilus Submarine Museum. Every detail is tended to in order to make your stay more accommodating. Was able to cook in the fully stocked kitchen, BBQ, choose a book from the shelf and play board games from the nice selection on hand. Even DVD's were provided for our down time at home. Upon arrival the house was immaculate. So many comforts of home that you usually don't find in a rental. James and Wendy you have done an outstanding job and we thank you so much for your hospitality!
The house is absolutely lovely, and in a fantastic location. It was well maintained and clean, and the owners were wonderful. Beware though that the upstairs ceiling for the stairs is quite low. It's a historic property so it was to be expected. We found the place charming. We used the outdoor grill and the kitchen quite extensively. We were able to easily walk into town, to the seaport and even to the aquarium (1.4 miles). Would highly recommend!
The home was adorable and quite comfortable. All of the ammenities you need were made available. We were within walking distance to most everything in the area. My family had a great week and we would definitley return again. James and Wendy were so accomodating and gracious as well. Overall a wonderful experience.
We stayed in the house for a week and were delighted with the house and location. It was perfect for our requirements and the one thing that really impressed us was the very comprehensive range of things in the house from kitchen items to toys to beach towels, picnic basket, garden toys etc etc. The house had everything that we could possibly need for our stay and in particular we liked the fact that there was a supply of detergents, dishwasher tabs, toilet roll etc so that we didn't have to stock up on these things on arrival. Our 2 boys had an amazing time playing with all the toys and games, which kept them entertained for hours. Thank you for making our stay so easy....
Mystic is a lovely, pretty town with lots of lovely restaurants and plenty to keep the family entertained and all within easy walking distance. Would definitely recommend this place to friends/family....
Living in Mystic has been like being on permanent vacation for our family! There is always something to do, from walking to the point of Napatree, to mountain biking at bluff point, lounging on amazing beaches, and spoiled for choice with local restaurants. Two highly reputed restaurants are opening Spring 2014. And on cold nights we may even take the short 15 minute drive to Foxwoods for a bit of gaming.
