At Point Williams Lodge, experience the heart of the San Juan Islands with the convenience of drive-in accessibility. Reaching out into the waters of North Puget Sound, Point Williams Lodge is a private, gated property nestled in a setting of unparalleled natural beauty. Set on six acres of the outermost tip of Samish Island, the newly-constructed, timber frame lodge offers a luxurious space for relaxation, or a point of departure for your next island adventure.

1200 feet of private oceanfront, a superb heated swimming pool, the hot tub and outdoor fireplace cleverly integrated with a spacious deck for entertaining or just kicking back. Among majestic trees—Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar, the bold timber joinery of this finely-crafted home reflects the serene environment, overlooking the confluence of Samish and Padilla Bays, a haven for herons, hawks and eagles, otters, seals and whales, fishermen and boaters.

Six well-appointed bedrooms accommodate up to 14 guests, plus vaulted great rooms, grand fireplaces, a gourmet kitchen—framed by the genius of Cascade Joinery: lofty arches, stout metalsmithing, an enchanting puzzle of beams and rafters—a sanctuary of warmth and light.

Point Williams Lodge exemplifies the magical duality of the Pacific Northwest: a place to explore the beauty of nature one minute, and relax in comfort with a good book the next.

Take a short drive or bicycle the easy roads along farm fields and nature preserves to arrive at the doorstep of a foodie’s delight: the Skagit Valley’s offerings include strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, myriad other fruits and vegetables, artisanal cheese, fine wine and craft beers, divine bread, and fresh shellfish.

Superb restaurants in the region like Nell Thorn's in La Conner, the famous Rhody Café, and Tweets in Edison specialize in creating an array of fresh combinations available in this unique maritime valley.

Stock up in charming Bow-Edison or at quaint roadside stands and shops along your way to the lodge, and prepare to feast in comfort, surrounded by the land and sea that provides this rich bounty.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Our family was looking for a special place to celebrate our Mother's 80th birthday and several other milestone birthdays and anniversaries being celebrated by members of our family this year. I happened upon Point Williams Lodge while searching the internet for a properties in the San Juan Islands (our chosen destination for this celebratory vacation) that could accommodate our extended family (we were 16 at our largest point), and I simply could not have found a better place. Gudrun's guidance, suggestions, attention to detail and prompt follow-through enabled us to put together a perfect week during which we had the best possible introduction to all that the area has to offer. From the immaculate condition of the house and fresh flowers that greeted us upon arrival, to the in-home massages on Saturday, gorgeous sunsets every day (the weather couldn't have been better!), hiking, biking, clamming, cooking delicious family meals together, lounging by the pool and hot tub, yoga on the pool deck (led by my nephew and his girlfriend, who are instructors), whale watching, a day trip to Orcas Island, and a finale celebration meal prepared by Chef Ryan Ross, it was a completely perfect week. This home is not only beautifully designed and constructed, it provided a comfortable setting that was sufficiently spacious so that no one felt crowded, yet those who wanted quiet time and privacy could find it. It also enables visitors to experience the San Juan Islands with the convenience of staying in a property that is attached to the mainland yet feels as secluded as one of the islands. As I write this entry it has been three weeks since we left the house, and we are all still glowing from the experience. I highly recommend this property to anyone considering it; you would be hard-pressed to find a better location and venue for a visit to this part of the country. Thank you Gudrun and Point Williams Lodge for a truly memorable week for our family!

Perfect Weekend for Girlfriend Gathering!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends and I just had a girls getaway reunion at the Point Williams Lodge and the weekend was better than we ever could have imagined! We all grew up in Washington, but driving out to the house felt like we were really getting away to a secluded location on the water. The house was in immaculate condition and sun was shining when we arrived. The first order of business was having a beverage on the patio and soaking in the scenery. We made so many memories over the weekend, from group dinners together to walking down to the bluff each night for sunset, to gathering around the fireplace inside at night and sharing stories. Gudrun was extremely helpful coordinating all of the details for our stay and answering questions. We will definitely be back, everyone wants to make it an annual trip now! It couldn't have been more perfect.

Wonderful House - Perfect for our staff retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had nine employees at Point Williams Lodge for our annual staff retreat and it was perfect. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms and we never felt crowded. The house is located in a beautiful wooded lot with ocean views and was so peaceful that it was hard to leave. We decided to re-book for next year within 15 minutes of arriving. Although we didn't rent them, there are very nice bikes to rent if you feel like going for a ride and there are enough bikes for everyone. The fresh flowers were a nice surprise and Gudren who handled our reservation was very hands on and attentive, you couldn't ask for a nicer person to work with. I would recommend this house to anyone for any occasion.

Best Weekend!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a large group stay at this magnificent home! Everything was perfect! It all started with the help and patience of Gurdrun. She was so willing to work with me and all my questions and changes to our reservation. It was a very last minute reservation and she still made it very easy for us. The house is set up very well. You have everything you could possibly need. Not to mention the HEATED pool and hot tub. The beds were very comfortable to sleep in and they were plenty of them! The view was amazing! Thank you Gudrun for making it a great weekend! We hope to come back soon.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience, Kelsey. So appreciated! We were delighted everything came together for you so beautifully, so last minute. All the last minute changes were entertaining, weren’t they? You were a joy to work with, and your wee family was a genuine pleasure to host. Please consider a return soon. Perhaps a special staff or family convergence sometime in December? Our personal chef’s presently maintain fair availability, and the lodge is beautifully dressed in Holiday décor this time of year. With twinkling tree, grand fireplace raging and the smell of Holiday dinner mingled with the scent of fresh pine—our past guests love this time of year at the lodge! Thanks again for the opportunity to host your gracious group, Kelsey. It’s groups like yours that make our work fun! Gudrun, Seaside Lodging Northwest, Inc.

Amazing House. Amazing Property. Amazing View.

  • 5 of 5

16 members of our extended family ( ages 4-70+) gathered here for our annual reunion and it was the perfect spot for us . Everybody's needs were met: Kids ( ages 4-18) loved the pool. The adventure seekers had great access to local trails for hiking and serious mountain biking. The golfers were very satisfied with local courses. The shoppers enjoyed Bellingham and La Conor. And those of us who like to chill by the pool with a book for most of the day managed to get out for some great runs and bike rides in to town for delicious food when we felt like being active.

We spent all of evenings together with cocktails by the pool, dinners on the deck and a walk to the bluff to take in the incredible sunsets.; a beautiful way to show off the PNW to our East Coast family members.

The house itself has everything you need and then some and the manager was very eager to accommodate and help in anyway needed during our stay.

If you want a private , exquisite property that sleeps16 people comfortably with tons of amenities - this is your spot. You won't want to leave the house once you check in - It's awesome!

Beautiful Lodge

  • 5 of 5

The PW Lodge was an amazing experience for our company's annual meeting and then we stayed 2 extra days with our own family. The amenities were top notch but also livable where we did not have to worry about our children breaking anything. The hot tub is great and the views are spectacular. We will be back annually for sure.

Heaven on Earth!!

  • 5 of 5

Point Williams Lodge is BREATHTAKING. We visited Point Williams lodge with our extended family for a holiday weekend in October 2015. Our group ranged in age from 16 to 86 years old and everyone was overwhelmed with it's beauty.

The home is an architectural masterpiece with finishings of extraordinary quality. The kitchen is very well appointed and a pleasure to cook in. Everyone in our group wanted to take a turn cooking! The main living room showcases a majestic stone wood burning fireplace, hardwood floors and beautiful leather furniture. In addition to the main living room there is a wonderful den where one can retire for a quiet read or a little TV time! The bedrooms are extremely comfortable and very spacious. Beautiful linens and towels throughout the home. The pool and jacuzzi are very clean and beautifully maintained.

The property and grounds surrounding the home are exceptional! The outdoor deck area with the wood burning fireplace/barbecue overlooking the beautifully landscaped yard and Bellingham Bay is wonderful. The views, every way you look are truly amazing. From the home and yard you cannot see another home or building. You are completely secluded but not isolated. There is WiFi, Direct TV, Telephone and good cell reception.

The Point Williams Lodge manager, Gudrun, was very helpful and accommodating. From the time of booking until our arrival Gudrun was very gracious about answering our questions and giving us a very thorough walk through of the home upon arrival.

Anyone who has an opportunity to visit Point Williams Lodge should do so. It will be an experience you will never forget. We all look forward to our next visit!
