Patsy's Place,a Hidden Gem unlike no other!

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 1-6) 3 night Minimum

Welcome to Patsy's Place - it is our second home. It is a beautifully updated 1959 cabin that is situated on 3 lots or .50 acre, and it the last cabin on the block, located on the West shore in Tahoma, CA. This place is equisite,no detail untouched. The first thing you will notice when entering this property is the gorgeous setting, it is truly quite lovely and you won't get any closer to Sugar Pine Point State Park as you can see from the pictures it is literally and seamlessly in your front yard. There are very few lots that are this large, private and at the end of the block.

We have worked very hard to update all of the appliances, providing a wonderful kitchen and living space. This cabin is 1544 sqft. the vaulted ceilings in the living space makes for a comfortable stay. The kitchen, dining room and living room host an open plan, leading down the hall to a rather comfortably sized bathroom with shower and soaking tub. There will be a down sectional in the living room which is great for settling into snowy nights with a book or a great movie. You will find plenty of storage. Although no need to bring sheets or pillows, we provide all cotton sheets and down pillows, large bath sheets and beach towels. If you are allergic to down then byo. We try to make each and every stay one that we ourselves would want to experience. One of the beautiful features about the cabin is the outdoor space-we have an enormous 3/4 wrap around deck that is close to the ground, we have worked hard to clean up the grounds and continue to work on the garden. And we were the recipient of the Garden Glove Award for Tahoma. We are so pleased to be recognized by our community, but know we have worked hard to create a tranquil space.

Hopefully by the pictures you can see the charm of Ole Tahoe, and the new come together beautifully with the new additions, but the beauty is that it is updated and provides for a very wonderfully restful stay. This is the place you want to bring your Sweetheart, the place you've haven't had the time to read that book or better yet write your biography. Patsy's Place is truly about renewing your spirit. You may hear a few children in the neighborhood, but at night it is something rarely ever experienced, total silence.

Enjoy the little town of Tahoma, West Side Pizza, PDQ Market-try their renowned sandwiches, the local video shop, Homewoods new deli...there is a small HOA rocked beach, but Meeks Bay Beach is a few miles south and Chambers Landing Public beach is a short skip North. Homewood Ski is very close and Tahoe City is about a 12 minute drive north and Squaw Valley is about 25 minutes NW.

We feel you will think you have found a jewel in the Tahoe Basin, as we feel we were blessed to be stewards of this beautiful property. Please inquire as to our availability and don't hesitate to ask questions.

We wish you and yours a very wonderful and fulfilling stay at Patsy's Place, Tahoma, CA.

About Laura Franceschini

My name is Laura Franceschini. My husband Tim and 2 sons and 3 dogs live on the old family farmstead that dates back to 1846. We grow Organic Pears and Cherries, conventional vineyard and a variety of grow crops. We were looking for an Ole Tahoe cabin on a unique piece of property, though I wrestled with the size of the little cabin, 2 years later we made it into the absolutely charming cabin it always wanted to be, we were also mesmerized by the grounds and its location. We find that when we need rest from the riggers of farm life and the heat of Sacramento County we long for our beautiful place in the woods. It's quite the magical place! Peace & Pinecones, Laura & Tim

Why Laura Franceschini chose Tahoma

The West Shore is considered the best shore as its magic comes from the larger snowfall that gives a lush and green landscape. Here is a place for rest and relaxation. The property is very magical-it brings back memories of my childhood where we spent many of our summers in Chamberland at my Uncle Jim's cabin. It is a dream fulfilled! And room to roam and be free, this is a lot that you do not find in the region. Big and private.

What makes this cabin unique

The property is the last cabin on the block and borders Sugar Pine Point State Park. This wonderful cabin sits on three lots nearly a 1/2 acre in total. Which makes the property endless as it borders the state park. We love this charming neighborhood and can't wait to get back as we never fail to miss our little cabin in the woods. In the winter snow shoe right out to the Park, sleigh down you own manmade mountain. It really is one of the most charming rentals in the area and around the lake-If you are looking for a Old Tahoe but updated cabin this is your place. No paint on these walls-we come to the mountains to be in a mountain home. We hope Patsy's Place will be your destination in Lake Tahoe for years to come.

Guestbook comments from the owner

What a wonderful place. Thank you so much for sharing it. What a wonderful remodel, you have made it so cozy and relaxing. We enjoyed the fire pit, the yard is beautiful. We brought our Kayak's and kayaked to Emerald Bay and stopped at the island to explore the Tea House, that was so cool. Enjoyed seeing the snow. Just glad we got 2 days to kayak. Also went on 2 hikes. Tahoe is just so breath taking. We will be back again.

1/2 acre of privacy, cabin set in off the road-unusual for the area. Nice neighborhood, better homes. Said to be one of the nicer homes in Tahoma given the lot and location. Please note very few places have AC we do however have overhead fans in Bedrooms and living area.

Awesome cabin and location!!!

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a cozy cabin next to forest land and found it!!

Everything is first class and well maintained!

This a wonderful winter or summer place!

Size and layout good for 2 couples (1 upstairs and 1 downstairs bedrooms) or family with up to 3 children.

Thanks for yummy chocolates!

Very cozy

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice stay, and the location is great!

Notes: the fan/light over the stove is kind of broken.

I found the dish drying rack cute, but not very usable :)

Small things. Loved our stay. Thanks!

This place is amazing, far exceeded our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we walked into this house we felt instantly at home. The attention to detail and beautiful decor was absolutely perfect, we couldn’t have wished for more. It is filled with everything you could want/need and is kitted our with all the appliances you would have at home. It’s is cosy, warm and wonderfully clean and the beds were extremely comfy. It’s in a great location easily accessible to numerous state parks and Homewood ski resort.

We hope to definitely return in the future as this is a little gem, a great home from home, our kids didn’t want to leave! Thankyou so much!

Beautiful and welcoming cabin in great location next to state park and short walk to Lake Tahoe

  • 4 of 5

Fully stocked kitchen with almost anything you could want. Loved the master suite upstairs. Turn heater to 65 at night and crank open windows to keep upstairs comfortable. Loved the large hot tub perfect for most couples. Coordinate downstairs shower and tub with upstairs as you won’t have enough hot water. Loved having the state park nearby for easy hikes or cross country skiing. Across the highway is the zBerg estate which is now state park property and open to the public. Trail ends up at a beautiful beach on the lake. We choose to drive to Kirkwood with all lifts and trails open and small crowds. Only

Patsy's Place Has it All

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in late July and found it exceeded our expectations. The cabin was spacious and beautifully maintained. This is not your rustic adventure in the woods! The kitchen is a dream, well appointed with anything you could possibly need and more. The master bedroom is just right for romance, with lovely little decorative touches and a super comfortable bed. The soaking tubs are great after a long hike. We are tall people, 5'10 and 6'5, and were not cramped. The yard is good for afternoon lounging or for dining al fresco. Nearby, we found the gelato place, Where We Met, to be a daily stop and getting to other places around the lake is very easy from this location. We'll be back!
