I have 2 cars parked on the grass beside the driveway. If this is going to bother you read no further. Had bad ratings because of these cars. Accept this as part of my home or go elsewhere. I updated the photos. The top row 1 through 12 are the old photos. Photos 13 through 24 are the photos of what the house looked like during the 2016 rentals. This house is not a one star slum as a few have rated it. You have the new photos of what the house looked like to include the cars during the 2016 rental period. You be the judge. If you think the photos show a one star house with a junk yard, than there is always the Trump Towers for you.

A Beautiful Colonial House, with 2 car driveway parking. Quiet dead end street. 2 extra Large bedrooms, 13 feet x 23 feet. 2 Regular size Bedrooms. Total 4 Bedrooms. (With 3 King Size Beds ) 2 Full sized Tub/Shower bathrooms. Air Conditioning in each bedroom, New Washing Machine & Dryer. Home Office with computer, monitor, scanner, & printer, for printing your Photo's.

Wireless Network Connection Installed. Bring your Laptop and connect anywhere in the house or use the Desktop to connect to the Internet.

Full kitchen with Microwave, Dishwasher, electric stove with oven, dishes, pots and pans for cooking. Two beaches are less than a 10 minute walk from the house ( Cressy Beach & Half Moon Beach ).

After having an Irate renter that felt i was not honest about the house. Here are some of the bad points. 1. 2 Bedrooms have doors, 2 bedrooms do not have doors. 2. I did not re stain the deck and picnic table this year. 3. Low water pressure on the top floor. 4. Basement bedroom is 80 percent finished, still needs some painting. 5. 3 cars are on the grass at the house, so you can park 2 to 3 cars in the driveway. 6. The basement utility room temp ceiling was cut approx 2 feet x 8 feet to repair broken water pipes (not put back up for this rental as there is insulation to be completed when i get back home). If any or all of the above are deal breakers, so be it. Half of these will be completed or fixed before the 2017 rental season. Do not miss out on a great rental for a few problems. Train, Bank, Car Rental, Restaurants, Shopping Stores, Bakery, Pizza, Whale Watch, Pier Overlooking TheWater & Fishing Boats. These are some of the many places that can be walked in 10 Minutes. YMCA, Library, Town Hall, Post Office, About 50 Stores On Main Street, Fire Department, Museums, TennisCourt, Information, All under 15 minutes from the house. More to include StageFort Park For Picnics, & Weekend Bands. Dog Park, where you can safely socialize you dogs in 3 fenced sections. The Harbor beside StageFort Park watching the ships and Sunrises.

I hate to repeat what others have already written however even though this house has plenty of room and is in a great location, the cars on the lawn were disappointing. The reviews mentioning these didn't post until after we booked. The owner didn't mention them until an email the day before our stay was to start. We didn't use the basement bedroom because it was damp and cold. While the owner provides coffee, pasta, etc. all we used was coffee because we mostly ate out. Had the other reviews been there when I was searching for a rental home, I would not have booked this one.

Owner's Response: With this 3rd reviewer angry that I have cars at the house. I do not see what my families cars have to do with the comfort of the house. For anyone who reads this. There will be 2 cars at the property. If this bothers you, than this rental is not for you. As these people were so disappointed with the cars, they could not see the good in the house. If you CAN accept the cars, you will have the comfort of a large house in a great location. If you can not accept the cars, do what the reviewer claims she would have done and rent elsewhere. I am retired and restoring a 1983 Chevy Camaro Z28. I have been a back yard mechanic over 40 years. This is being restored for my family for when I am gone. If you do not like Classic, and Antique cars you may not understand the pride of keeping them on the road. The body and frame is mint, runs good, but working on exhaust and interior. The second car is a 2003 Cadillac Deville with a pushed in drivers side door. I have replaced lots of parts, and it runs great, and for highway driving. It also has A/C for front and back seats. So if it either the cars or the renters, I choose the cars. Now that it has been fully aired that I have the nerve to have cars on my house property. It is time for you to choose. Ask yourself will the cars bother me so badly that I will not be able to enjoy my vacation. If that is so, than this rental is not for you. I do not want people to feel I am hiding something as some have. I really did not think it was going to be such a big negative thing. Again There are 2 cars parked on the grass beside the driveway. You have access to parking 2 cars in the driveway. A 1983 Chevy Camaro, and a 2003 Cadillac Deville are parked at this rental property. A few other problems with the house. No doors on the upstairs bedrooms, separated by hall only. I am working on finishing the basement utility room only half finished. If you are looking for a perfect rental, this is not it. This is a pet friendly house that the basement bedroom is mainly for pets. Too cold no problem as I will now only rent July and August. Will not be going out of my way any longer for one star ratings. You think the house pictures shows a One Star house ? It is a very comfortable rental with 3 King sized beds & sleeps 12. If you can do better in Gloucester than by all means do so. High speed wireless that runs 6 devices.

The pictures totally misrepresented what we found when we arrived.

The outside of the house had 3 junk cars in the drive way an on the front lawn The outside patio and surrounding area was totally unusable due to trash and debris littered about. The first floor bedroom had could not be used because the ceiling had huge holes in it. The second and third floor were dirty, animal fur balls all over the floors. The refrigerator was full of old left over food. The stove did not work,for which the owner rebated $300.00. The furniture was old an looked like it had not been cleaned in months.

This house has a lot of potential but needs a LOT of work before it should ever be rent again or the pictures should show what your really getting.

Owner's Response: First off the cars are not Junk. An Antique 1983 Chevy Camaro Z28 body is mint. A 2003 Cadillac. Only a 1993 Ford Mustang is trash. I will update the photos when i get home in November. If you can not accept that i have cars parked on my grass to allow 2 car parking in the driveway than go somewhere else. The large back burner on the stove broke with renters before these renters. I ordered the part, it arrived, and stove was fixed, about 2 weeks after it broke. The front burner, oven, and grill still worked on the stove. I called these people up 4 days before arrival to tell them about the large back burner on the stove broke. I was told no problem as long as they could cook breakfast, as they would be out eating mostly. I picked up a large griddle to cook on and refunded 300 dollars. Seems people are so upset by the cars outside that they make up other stuff. No Hole in basement bedroom. No trash on back patio making it unusable. I was there the morning these people were arriving and there was no fur balls floating around. Saw how my cleaning people had the house cleaned and none of these described problems were seen. I left a check for 300 dollars and the cooking griddle because of the stove problem. Now these people do not want you to believe the photos that are posted. That would be fraud, for which i could be Sued. I am really not that stupid to post false photos of the house. What you see is what you get. As the saying goes "I am not as stupid as i look". Maybe they were having a bad hair day on their vacation. I see the house as a strong 3 to 4 to be honest, if you can see past the cars outside. The house should be a solid 4 by 2017 summer. Please take photos of any areas that you feel are problems and send them to me. Do not say general things, like old furniture. What piece of furniture seemed to offend you, so i can remove it. If you think something is dirty, please explain in detail, what is dirty. I will than correct the problem. Telling me animal fur balls are blowing around, was completely false. I was there the check in morning with the cleaning crew and floors were cleaned and washed throughout the house. I will be updating all the photos in November when i get back to Gloucester. Property is being renovated. Still needs to be finished.

Ed was a very nice man. The bathrooms were clean, but the house is being updated. We didn't have an outdoor space to cook, so we bought a small grill. The front yard had abandoned vehicles and also needs to be cleaned up.

Great place for the weekend

The owner is very responsive, helpful, and great to work with, and the price for the weekend was extremely affordable. It's in walking distance to downtown on a very quiet street. We found the place to be very clean and tidy - don't let the old cars in the front yard deter you. Our group of 8 enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house to anyone.

Best location in Gloucester!

The house is a short walk to the downtown area with lots of shops and restaurants; No need for a car during your stay! The owner was friendly and great to work with. He was very flexible with me on check-out/check-in time. The house is well appointed. There is everything a traveler needs!!

Nice owner but pictures and description of house are deceiving.

Owner was very helpful up to our stay providing guidance on places to visit. He also responded very quickly to any communication we had with him.

The location is good, very quiet and within walking distance to Gloucester downtown, harbour and beaches.

However, pictures on Homeaway's homepage are deceiving, you are being met with a carwreck graveyeard in the front of the house, patio on back is not at all red and nice looking, instead not maintained for many years, just as several dog shits were located around the house.

The description of the interior is also deceiving. The cellar, where 1 one of the bedrooms is located, stinks of "old moist cellar" and is inhabitable. The ceiling in the entrance of the cellar is non exsting. The 2 bedrooms on 2nd floor are not separated, but just one open space. The water pressure in the showers of both bathrooms is also hardly existing, so to take a shower takes ages, as very little water comes out. The airconditioning units are noisy and 1 did not work.

In general the interior of the house is dirty and is in need of a proper cleaning exercise.

Overall impression of the house is very poor, subsequently it is extremely overpriced, and we quite honestly felt cheated.

Owner's Response: This last reviewer would lead you to believe you are renting a shack with no roof. Pictures do not lie like people would lead you to believe. They saw not one good thing about the house, only the bad. If that is how you see the world only the bad, than this rental is not for you. You think the price is too high, you can rent a one room shack for cheaper. You should not rent a 4 bedroom house and than complain if you can not afford it. Prices are listed for everyone to see. I spend 3 weeks cleaning before the first renter, as it is a large house. Brand new shower curtains, toilet seats, and Egyptian cotton sheets this year 2016. 2 New euro top California King size mattresses. Full stocked kitchen, with all you can eat pasta for anyone staying at the house. I tell people that you can help yourselves to any food at the house as a little extra. Their is pasta, sauce, rice, beans, coffee, tea, snacks, etc. for anyone renting to eat while staying here. I do not know if their are any other home rentals that throw in all you can eat food while staying. I am very flexible on arrival and departure times. Check in can be as early as 6am, and check out as late as 6pm. I just need to know in advance so i can schedule around the times needed. So if you are nit picky renters you can see how this place would never work for you. Again if you can not see the good and only the bad around you, than this place is not for you.
