I have 2 cars parked on the grass beside the driveway. If this is going to bother you read no further. Had bad ratings because of these cars. Accept this as part of my home or go elsewhere. I updated the photos. The top row 1 through 12 are the old photos. Photos 13 through 24 are the photos of what the house looked like during the 2016 rentals. This house is not a one star slum as a few have rated it. You have the new photos of what the house looked like to include the cars during the 2016 rental period. You be the judge. If you think the photos show a one star house with a junk yard, than there is always the Trump Towers for you.

A Beautiful Colonial House, with 2 car driveway parking. Quiet dead end street. 2 extra Large bedrooms, 13 feet x 23 feet. 2 Regular size Bedrooms. Total 4 Bedrooms. (With 3 King Size Beds ) 2 Full sized Tub/Shower bathrooms. Air Conditioning in each bedroom, New Washing Machine & Dryer. Home Office with computer, monitor, scanner, & printer, for printing your Photo's.
Wireless Network Connection Installed. Bring your Laptop and connect anywhere in the house or use the Desktop to connect to the Internet.
Full kitchen with Microwave, Dishwasher, electric stove with oven, dishes, pots and pans for cooking. Two beaches are less than a 10 minute walk from the house ( Cressy Beach & Half Moon Beach ).
After having an Irate renter that felt i was not honest about the house. Here are some of the bad points. 1. 2 Bedrooms have doors, 2 bedrooms do not have doors. 2. I did not re stain the deck and picnic table this year. 3. Low water pressure on the top floor. 4. Basement bedroom is 80 percent finished, still needs some painting. 5. 3 cars are on the grass at the house, so you can park 2 to 3 cars in the driveway. 6. The basement utility room temp ceiling was cut approx 2 feet x 8 feet to repair broken water pipes (not put back up for this rental as there is insulation to be completed when i get back home). If any or all of the above are deal breakers, so be it. Half of these will be completed or fixed before the 2017 rental season. Do not miss out on a great rental for a few problems. Cars are not needed to get to a great many locations. An ideal location Just minutes from the water. A quiet dead end street. Train, Bank, Car Rental, Restaurants, Shopping Stores, Bakery, Pizza, Whale Watch, Pier Overlooking TheWater & Fishing Boats. These are some of the many places that can be walked in 10 Minutes. YMCA, Library, Town Hall, Post Office, About 50 Stores On Main Street, Fire Department, Museums, TennisCourt, Information, All under 15 minutes from the house. More to include StageFort Park For Picnics, & Weekend Bands. Dog Park, where you can safely socialize you dogs in 3 fenced sections. The Harbor beside StageFort Park watching the ships and Sunrises.
I hate to repeat what others have already written however even though this house has plenty of room and is in a great location, the cars on the lawn were disappointing. The reviews mentioning these didn't post until after we booked. The owner didn't mention them until an email the day before our stay was to start. We didn't use the basement bedroom because it was damp and cold. While the owner provides coffee, pasta, etc. all we used was coffee because we mostly ate out. Had the other reviews been there when I was searching for a rental home, I would not have booked this one.
The outside of the house had 3 junk cars in the drive way an on the front lawn The outside patio and surrounding area was totally unusable due to trash and debris littered about. The first floor bedroom had could not be used because the ceiling had huge holes in it. The second and third floor were dirty, animal fur balls all over the floors. The refrigerator was full of old left over food. The stove did not work,for which the owner rebated $300.00. The furniture was old an looked like it had not been cleaned in months.
This house has a lot of potential but needs a LOT of work before it should ever be rent again or the pictures should show what your really getting.
Ed was a very nice man. The bathrooms were clean, but the house is being updated. We didn't have an outdoor space to cook, so we bought a small grill. The front yard had abandoned vehicles and also needs to be cleaned up.
The owner is very responsive, helpful, and great to work with, and the price for the weekend was extremely affordable. It's in walking distance to downtown on a very quiet street. We found the place to be very clean and tidy - don't let the old cars in the front yard deter you. Our group of 8 enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house to anyone.
The house is a short walk to the downtown area with lots of shops and restaurants; No need for a car during your stay! The owner was friendly and great to work with. He was very flexible with me on check-out/check-in time. The house is well appointed. There is everything a traveler needs!!
Owner was very helpful up to our stay providing guidance on places to visit. He also responded very quickly to any communication we had with him.
The location is good, very quiet and within walking distance to Gloucester downtown, harbour and beaches.
However, pictures on Homeaway's homepage are deceiving, you are being met with a carwreck graveyeard in the front of the house, patio on back is not at all red and nice looking, instead not maintained for many years, just as several dog shits were located around the house.
The description of the interior is also deceiving. The cellar, where 1 one of the bedrooms is located, stinks of "old moist cellar" and is inhabitable. The ceiling in the entrance of the cellar is non exsting. The 2 bedrooms on 2nd floor are not separated, but just one open space. The water pressure in the showers of both bathrooms is also hardly existing, so to take a shower takes ages, as very little water comes out. The airconditioning units are noisy and 1 did not work.
In general the interior of the house is dirty and is in need of a proper cleaning exercise.
Overall impression of the house is very poor, subsequently it is extremely overpriced, and we quite honestly felt cheated.
