Great view and location

  • 5 of 5

The view of the house overlooking Lake Washington with the Olympic Mountains in the background was beautiful and will make a lasting memory. Rebecca the property manager was very friendly and responsive.

Location on the house near Colson Beach Park provided a great paved walking trail which added to the experience.

We are looking forward to the opportunity to come back again sometime soon and would highly recommend the house for those looking for a quiet getaway in a great setting.

Memorial Day Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My first visit to Seattle and am very pleased that I found this house to stay in. The location of the home just can't be beat - not that I'm an expert having been to Seattle just once. But the setting on Lake Washington is just beautiful, and when the skies are clear the view of the mountains over the lake is just great. Lake Washington is huge and is where some of Seattle's wealthiest citizens live, so the lakefront and surrounding hillsides are dotted with nice, unique homes. The back of the home faces west so sunsets on the porch are nice also. It is very quite and peaceful. The home is only a mile or so to a major highway (but the surrounding neighborhood is quiet), which provides very easy access to Seattle (w/o traffic which we didn't experience about 15 minutes to downtown) and all that it has to offer, as well as surrounding areas. So I think it offers the best of both worlds - lakefront views and serenity and the city close by. There is a lakefront park with a private neighborhood entrance close by that is well maintained and is a great place to take walks or runs.

Inside, the home has a very comfortable, homey feel and the living room and porch provide a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to make a few meals, which we did. There is a large screen tv with a good picture and it is in the living room so tv watching is with great views of the lake also. The master bedroom and bath are good sized and comfortable - the second bedroom is downstairs. Glenda and Dave live in a private section downstairs and are terrific hosts, they make you feel welcome and are only too happy to provide advice about the city and surrounding area. They make it easy when checking in and out.

I've stayed in several vacation homes in many different places, its really my preferred way to travel because in my opinion it is more comfortable, and it provides (to me anyway) a better, more relaxing atmosphere to stay than a hotel. And I enjoy cooking a few meals rather than eating out all the time. And you meet nice people. This home is another example of why I prefer to travel this way, and we've already shared with friends and family the terrific time we had.

Amazing Views on Lake Washington

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay in this absolutely beautiful location. The house was warm, welcoming, comfortable and had everything in it we could possibly want. Rebecca, the host person who met us, could not have been nicer and more enjoyable to deal with. She made our stay so much easier by allowing us to drop off our luggage when we arrived earlier than the recommended check-in time. The best part of our mini-vacation there was being able to sit outside in the comfortable (and sometimes chilly) August mornings and evenings on the deck and look out over the beautiful lake that surrounded us. It was the perfect location for our "60 Years Young" friends birthday celebration!! I highly recommend this beautiful home and location to anyone looking in this area for a nice and serene place to stay. Thank you Rebecca and many thanks to the Youngs for sharing their lovely home with us!

The home was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The host and family were most pleasant and helpful. It's a perfect home if you're bringing a boat.
