Finding a truly good value these days is tough. Buy an inexpensive toy, and you risk getting lead poisoning. And clipping coupons? Well, almost no one has time for that. Bijou Acres is a rare exception to the rule because you give up very little in order to save a bunch. At 1136 square feet, it’s smaller than most of our 3 bedroom homes, but it still sleeps 9, has a big hot tub, wood-burning fireplace, deck with grill, a fully-equipped kitchen with new appliances, and a new LCD flatscreen TV with DirectTV and an XBox. With the money you’ll save, you can buy lift tickets at Heavenly or place bets at the casinos (both are just minutes away).

We had a fantastic time staying here. The house was in great condition, very clean and very well supplied with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Very close to Heavenly lifts and easy to get to. Would definitely stay at the house again!
It was spacious, good for 4-6 people but not anymore. The only thing I would tell you is that it's pretty bare. I was expecting basic things like coffee for the coffee machine, but there was none. Turns out in the email they sent, it's something you should let your agent know so they can have that for you - the email was super long so I didn't read it with that much detail, so that's my bad. It would have been nice to have had a couple extra towels and a hair dryer - there's plenty of towels but if you use the hot tub, you may not want to use the same towel with the chlorine - but this is super minor. Overall, loved the home. Getting the key was a bit tricky, took us about 20 minutes to get into the house, but once we called our agent, it was only a couple of minutes to get a new code - so I really appreciated their attentiveness. Last thing, they told me no one under 25 unless accompanied by a parent, not sure if this is explicitly stated but thought to let you know. There is also quiet hours at 10 pm.
The photos are out of date - this place is rundown and skeevy. The water was discolored and murky - the management company brought us bottled water to use. You could smell the bleach from outside the house. The carpets are stained and furniture is falling apart. The hot tub is missing pieces and dirty. The fence is falling down and yard is overgrown with weeds. The kitchen has bare essentials and nothing more. No AC and yet some of the windows are missing screens. Only good thing - the beds were comfortable. Not worth the cheap price!
Most of the reviews state the same thing, but yet the experience hasn't change. I thought the bedrooms were great, clean and comfortable bedding. The home had a single garage, which was available to keep my vehicle stored [fyi, manual door that doesn't lock, but was suitable for me]. The living space was large and comfortable, and the outside deck was spacious too. The hottub was spacious as well as clean, and the BBQ great worked well. The place falls short from there. I don't know how 9 people could use this place with the lack of amenities. This day and age, the expectations is a vacation rental provides sufficient towels and toiletries. There were about 6 sets of towels, which was not enough to have 1 towel to dry off from the hot tub and 1 towel to shower with per person. The house should be stocked with at least 18 towels to provide for the maximum usage of the advertised 9 occupancy. The rental also lacked decent shampoo/soap, basically equivalent to what you get at a cheap $39 a night motel. Stocking with higher quality soap and shampoo would go a long way to improve this place. The kitchen also lacked enough glasses and tableware, which was also rather dirty upon arrival. I rate this place 3 1/2 stars, but you cannot do 1/2 stars, so they get a 3.
This place looked exactly as advertised, which is refreshing. It is a very bright and happy little house. The property was very well maintained. The little issues we had were swiftly corrected by the maintenance team. We would definitely stay at this property again.
I would suggest the Bear Beach Café as a wonderful breakfast destination, and it is very close to the house. It has a fabulous view and delicious food.
Stateline casinos are located within minutes and the house is near a Golf Course.
The home is older but well kept. Appliances, jacuzzi and beds are all new and all very nice. Sofa and carpet are a bit worn. A handiman is needed to fix a few small things like a toilet with constantly runs, smoke detector which chirps and needs a new battery, cup over shower pipe needs to be calked into place, backyard gate secured better, etc. Nice yard. Overall we surely enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
I stayed at this cabin and had a great weekend. the positives for this place include:
-hot tub it was spacious although it could use some maintenance to get all the jest working
- Kitchen - spacious kitchen
- Fire place - Large enough or a big roaring fire!
- Location - quite area but still close to the state line and heavenly village
- heater worked very well and we were never cold in the house
- large backyard that was flat, clean and spacious for snow day fun
- Wifi worked flawlessly and was fast
Things to know before coming:
- there was only one wine glass stocked so bring extra if you plan on having a bottle of wine
- there are not many cooking dishes so if you are going to bake or cook come prepared.
- There was no wood so if you want a fire you will need to provide your own wood.
- Although it states the cabin sleeps 9 there were only 4 towels stocked in the bathroom.
Also it says there is an xbox which is true. It is an original xbox so will not work with xbox 360 or xbox one games. We didn't use it but though I would mention it. I would presume it can play DVDs if you brought those.
Overall we had a great time here and I would stay again in the future
