Allenspark Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7-8)

Walk right out the door to world-class hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park! At the foot of trailheads to Longs Peak and Mount Meeker, as well as all of Wild Basin. Hikes range from easy, level trails with picnics along the St. Vrain river, to difficult hikes up 14000 ft peaks and world-class multi-pitch rock climbs.

Outstanding mountain biking available. Fish in St. Vrain river, or one of a dozen post-card beautiful alpine lakes. Then enjoy a country breakfast in Allenspark (~2 min South on Hwy 7) or a gourmet dinner in Allenspark or Estes Park. This place is one of a kind! Horseback riding and fishing guides are available just around the corner.

Cabin is cozy and comfortable, with all of the amenities of home. Comfortably accommodates a family of 2 to 8. Large yard provides quiet solitude. St Vrain river can be heard at night.

Wild animals (Elk, deer, raccoons, squirrel, and bear) sometimes roam through the neighborhood.

Absolutely gorgeous setting in all seasons.

Convenient access ~45 minutes from Boulder, Co, on state highways, or about 90 minutes from DIA.

Why Cynthia Frazier chose Rocky Mountain National Park

We absolutely loved this area the moment we saw it! It is 50 minutes from our home in Louisville so just far enough that we are able to truly get away - yet not so far that we aren't able to enjoy it.

What makes this cabin unique

Very quiet, peaceful and comfortable. The setting is beautiful and the access to hiking is superb.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is a very belated note, but we just got back from our travels to Colorado and New Mexico. Definitely the highlight for our family was the stay at your cabin. The accommodations were perfect, comfortable, tastefully done and in a wonderful setting. Your porch was our living room.

Our only regret was the shortness of our stay.

Nice place, quiet and close to the Park.

  • 4 of 5

There were a few glitches when we arrived, but the owner promptly took care of any problems or requests. However, there is no king size bed as advertised, just 2 queens. Otherwise fairly well equipped. We were 4 children and three adults...just enough room for all of us. Our cleaning deposit was promptly returned after we left. Inspired us to look for a cabin of our own!

Nice cabin near trails!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very nicely kept and was conveniently located a short walking distance from the Wild Basin trail-head which has a ton of awesome hiking trails!

Great little cabin, promiximity to Rocky Mountain National park trail head is awesome!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was clean and was well cared for. Walking distance to Wild Basin and Rocky Mountain National Park trail head. There is a queen bedroom, full bathroom and laundry on the first floor, other two bedrooms and bath upstairs.

Only advice I'd like to give is there is NO cell phone reception in that area at all. The cabin does have wifi so if you are trying to coordinate with other people in other cabins, be sure they also have wifi for texting. Android phones were not able to communicate with iPhones. This is not really a problem unless you are a large group, honestly, it was really nice to disconnect from work for a few days.

Also, it is a dirt driveway to get to the cabin. Most cars in Colorado won't have any issue with it, but I wouldn't try to drive a low clearance car there.

Owner's Response: Thank your for your lovely review! We do have a landline in the cabin, in the event that you need to communicate with others. It really is a beautiful thing to disconnect from the "devices" for a bit and really breathe in the mountain air! We've never had any issues with the access to the cabin, the dirt road leading to the cabin is not a long drive and no one has ever had an issue with getting in. In the winter months, we do have it shoveled for easier access.

Wild Basin Cabin

  • 4 of 5

As soon as we unpack, we go for a walk and fill our lungs with fresh clean air. The cabin is spacious and well appointed with plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 children. We love the quiet and peaceful setting and the proximity to great hiking and Estes Park. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the deck needs to be repaired.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review! We are fixing the deck this week, after a very busy summer!

Cabin is cozy and comfortable, nicely furnished with a great kitchen and laundry. However...

  • 3 of 5

My brother and I and our kids stayed here for two nights early in August 2016. It's a nice place in a rustic and quiet neighborhood. Other cabins in the area seemed to be unoccupied at the time, so QUIET! The furnishings were all comfortable, clean and in great shape. A very functional kitchen, laundry and nice bathrooms. Kids were happy about the great Wi-Fi connection, after more basic accommodations earlier in our trip. We enjoyed our time here and the manager (owner?) was very helpful directing us from Estes Park and getting us in without trouble.

My one concern about our experience is that, two weeks later and I am still waiting to see the sizable ($500) damage deposit re-credited to my card. We did the dishes, etc and made sure to leave the place in original condition, but haven't heard back from the owner. I will update this review when resolved.

Owner's Response: Dan, The refund is processed by VRBO. They send me an email right after your visit, so I can report any damages and I cleared it to be processed the day they sent it. Can you check with them on the deposit? I can't see anything on my end because I don't have access to your payment method. I've never seen a deposit that hasn't been returned for our property. -Cynthia

Quiet and comfortable retreat in beautiful surroundings

  • 4 of 5

We appreciated the large kitchen equipped with most everything one would need. The furnishings were very nice with plenty of linens available. We did not try the pull out sofa, but the beds were quite comfortable. With four adults and two children, the two bathrooms were especially appreciated. The large supply of T.P. was especially surprising!

The kitchen floor and high chair needed a bit of cleaning, but we were happy to leave your home in very good condition.

The location is excellent with beautiful views whether heading for my brother's home in Longmont or for Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park in the other direction!

Thank you again for sharing your home with us.

Best regards, Carol Manning
