About The Owner

We moved to the Truckee-Tahoe area and fell in love with the scenic & rural qualities of the community of Hirschdale on the Truckee River. We are an active couple who enjoy nature, the outdoors, mountains and streams. We reside next door to this rental and maintain the home. We have lived in the community for many years.

The Owner purchased this house in 1984

Wonderful Home Overlooking the Truckee River

  • 5 of 5

This home is wonderful! Situated on a quiet street with views of the Truckee River, you can sit on the spacious deck and watch people white river rafting. The home itself was very nice and spacious. At night you hear the river going by as well as a train in the distance. If you're looking for a great place for you and your family to enjoy the Tahoe area, this home is the perfect getaway.

Excellent summer getaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed with our (adult) children and friends at Diane and Duane's property. The house is lovely and occupies a commanding view of a bow in the Truckee river where fly fishermen appeared daily. We especially appreciated the spacious deck, where we had breakfast and dinner daily. The house was extremely comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen had a complete set of cooking utensils and staples, as well as DW detergent, etc. The owners live next door and are happy to provide assistance as needed (beach towels in our case), but understand your desire for privacy. Since it is close to I-80 we had easy access to Truckee, Donner Lake, and Lake Tahoe, all of which we took advantage of. We'd love to stay there again.

Awesome vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family has stayed in this beautiful house multiple times now. It is our number #1 favorite vacation home in Truckee. The views are beautiful, the area serene and yet it is close enough to activities/shopping/dining to be just the relaxing getaway we look forward to each year.

I highly recommend for families, couples or a group of friends. We are already looking forward to our return next year!

Wonderful House, Wonderful Time

  • 5 of 5

We had no problem finding the home. I was so happy driving into it's driveway. The house is so very nice. Once inside and looked at everything, it was as pictured, but better. Bathrooms were spacious and very clean. We stayed in the master bedroom. It was large and had a wonderful view out the window of trees, mountains, snow, the Truckee river and above that the train. Our room and another bedroom had a view out the back. The other bedrooms had a different view. The kitchen is well stocked and also has a wall of windows. The woodstove kept us all nice and warm. And it got down to 17 degrees! Tile floors are heated. Large deck out back that wraps around to the green house room. We are looking forward to returning in the spring.

Thank you Duane and Diane!

Owner's Response: You are most welcome! We are glad you had an enjoyable time. We strive to provide our guests with a satisfying and memorable stay and appreciate your positive comments. Please do come back up in the Spring. The river should be very appealing for fly fishing with all the snow we have received so far this winter and the returning wildlife, ducks & geese abundant. Come back up and enjoy it!

Loved this property. The home is warm and cozy and the views are amazing. The owners already had a fire burning in the fireplace when we arrived - very welcoming. Wish we could have stayed longer!!
