We are grateful to have booked this rental mountain house for our group of 16 persons for our young adult church ministry. The owner, Otis, was very accommodating and responded quickly to any questions we had, before, during, and after our trip. He gave us tips on how to enjoy our stay while in Truckee and where to find the best ski/ snowboarding. We had initially planned on going to another ski school, but he let us know that there was one much closer that was also well-suited for beginners like us. We had a 2 night stay, initially... one of our cars got stuck in Truckee due to a blizzard and the closing off of the 80. Otis was very kind as to allow us to stay on another night, until it was safe to drive. This was a great blessing since we did not have to worry about finding a new place and we were able to leave early the next morning! Overall, the house is well-kept, it is tidy and spacious, and has a cozy kitchen and atmosphere. We would definitely rent it again!
We had a large family reunion and everyone loved the place. Thank you so much for renting your cabin to us! We had such a great time bonding and relaxing. The owner (Otis) was very friendly and easy to talk to, prompt at answering any of our questions or concerns. We enjoyed our 2 day ski trip here during the president week and loved it specially our little ones. The house is excellent for Kids/large groups, and also very convenient to everything, Donner ski resort 3 miles ish, Safeway and other store 5 minute drive. We would definitely recommend this house to any age for your next stay in the Tahoe area. Definitely looking forward to a summer stay also!
We spent 3 nights in this large nice house and it feels so short. The owner was very helpful and always answer my question very fast via email. All rooms , kitchen , living room and bathrooms are fully equipped. So we were able to cook delicious food. Kids had a lot of fun in the downstairs game room and outside slides.
We will certainly come back soon.
We had a wonderful time staying at this carbin for 5 days 4 nights. Otis is very helpful and responsive. He even let us stayed at the cabin after check out time as we had problem with our snow chain installation.
The cabin provides lots of room for us (8 adults and 7.5 kids). There are plenty of beds and hide-a-bed so each of us was sleeping in our own bed. Bed sheets, pillows and towels are abundant. The basement was a popular hangout place for kids and dads, as they've spent hours on the ping pong and pool tables. There are plenty of space outdoor for the kids to play in the snow.
We cooked in the kitchen a lot. The kitchen provided us with lots of cookware, plates, cups and utensil. The only downside is the size, it’s a bit small for more than 2 people to work in the kitchen.
Overall, this is an ideal cabin for winter vacation for large group of family with young children.
I wanted to write to thank both Otis and Sharon for their help ( and most notably patience ) when it came to renting their Cabin. Since I had never rented a Cabin before... I had A LOT of question about every little thing and Otis and Sharon were more than happy to answer my many questions. I had rented the Cabin for a Family Get-Together to go skiing at Squaw ( about 20 minutes away ) in between Christmas and New Years ( arrive Friday 12/27 and departing Monday 12/30 ). There were a total of 15 of us ( 4 parents / 6 Adults / 5 Teenagers ) at the Cabin. There were 5 rooms ( 4 bedrooms upstairs / 1 Den downstairs that had a Pull out Coach ) that was able to accomodate most of us with plenty of Bunk Beds ( perfect for a large # of kids/singles ). Although there was a bed and couch available in the basement to sleep, I couldn't get the Basement Heater to work, so the Kids ended sleeping upstairs on the Couches in the Family Room cuz it got real cold at night ( NOTE - Otis said afterward that I could have informed him of the the heating issue and that he could have easily gotten an electrician to go fix the issue immediately ). The Main Floor and Top Floor had it's own Heating that was independent of each other that worked without issue. There were 3 Bathrooms for all of us where I did not encounter any issues with lack of Hot Water ( a PLUS during the cold winter nights with 15 guests ). The Kids loved the basement Ping Pong and Pool Table where they played games late into the evening. The Kitchen Table was large enough to hold up to 10 people for dinner and accomodate our Board / Card Games in the evenings. Despite the cold, we used the outdoor BBQ to cook some dinner ( which was useful ). I will admit that the decor of the cabin seems a little dated....but it did have a "quaint and old-fashioned" feeling which more than served our needs and didn't feel entirely cramped for that many people. Also something important to note.....this Cabin was one of the very few in the Tahoe/Truckee area that offered a large enough Cabin to accomodate up to 15 people for a 3 night stay ( which is VERY HARD to find during the Christmas Holiday season ) . This was especially important to me since the VAST MAJORITY of the Tahoe/Truckee Cabins require a MINIMUM of 5 to 7 Nights during the Christmas/NY Holidays and costs far more than what I ended up paying for. Overall, for the # of people staying at the Cabin....it met most ( if not all ) of our needs.
River Rafting, Casinos 25- and 35-minutes away, Homeowners shared pool, hot-tub, driving range, golf course, also lake-beach and marina, tennis, horseback riding
