We love the ocean water and the temperate weather at Kure beach. Our family especially enjoys the Early Fall, Winter and Spring seasons. Both of our children Chaney and Will bring friends from college UNC-CH (go tarheels!) to enjoy respite introducing them to the Kure Beach lifestyle. Don't forget to take the ferry from Fort Fisher over to Southport for an excursion to Historic Southport, NC. The ferry is approximately 3 miles from our house.
Bill purchased this house in 2004
Kure Beach is wonderfully relaxing. It's almost hard to leave the house once you've arrived. We have a informational binder kept in the kitchen. It has updated tide tables, local events, local resturants, shops, ferry schedule, Aquarium events and many other secrets you may never find during your visit! Ask us about turtle nesting season or when the Deer run on the beach at night.
Location; Our home is far enough away from either towns (Carolina Beach or Kure main street) yet, close enough for a nice walk or bike ride to lunch or dinner.
I meant to email you ... and to let you know how much we enjoyed the house. We really find it to be such a peaceful, wonderful place and you always have everything we need!
This is the second time my family and I stayed at the Adams' home. Its location is within easy walking distance to a few restaurants and the fishing pier, and it's just a short drive to Fort Fisher. The quaint town of Southport is just a ferry ride away, and it's a great place to shop and sightsee. We like the Maritime Museum and the Old Brunswick Jail. Nature lovers would enjoy a hike through Carolina State Park. It offers scenic views of the Cape Fear River and a nice marina as well. The NC Aquarium is both fun and educational. This year they had a very cool dinosaur exhibit. Most of our time was spent on the beach; we searched for shark teeth and shells by day and ghost crabs by night. The kids (adults too) spent hours riding the waves on boogie boards or body surfing. The beach was clean and the water warm. The main deck overlooking the ocean is a great gathering place, and the outdoor sound system enhances the outdoor experience. This home has everything a family could possibly want in a vacation home. The large kitchen opens into the living area making it convenient for food preparation and family interaction. The older children liked their private downstairs quarters with access to the ping pong table and other games. The boys also preferred using the outdoor shower rather than the one in their own bathroom. The entire home is tastefully decorated and comfortable. It was a pleasure meeting Bill Adams; he's very personable and welcoming. There's no other place I would stay when visiting Kure Beach!
For probably the first time ever in renting beach houses annually for 25 years, the house was as depicted in the pictures and description you see on line. Pretty, clean, very well furnished kitchen, spacious bedrooms and places to put your things, perfect location in terms of proximity to beach and views, great main deck furniture, and more! Really comfortable. Two full size refrigerators which is awesome.
This is our second time to stay in this house and each time it is more wonderful than the last. Our grandsons think this is their own private house! Mr and Mrs Adams are great to rent from and very attentive to every detail. The kitchen is well stocked and everything works! We love this place and hope we can continue enjoy our vacations here.
Thanks for a great place and a magical time.
We had a week in this great home before school started with our three kids and 2 family dogs. They loved it! All of them! The floor plan is open and spacious and it created a great family atmosphere as cousins, aunts and uncles stopped by. The home is clean and cute with anything you would need to be comfortable. We love that you just walk out to the beach-- the kids were in heaven! Highly recommend the Adams Cottage for a truly memorable vacation!
My family has rented oceanfront beach houses in North Carolina, including Kure Beach, for the past 7 years and this was by far our best experience. The Adams Cottage is the epitome of what a beach house should be. The open layout is welcoming, the rooms are spacious and the views are spectacular. In addition, many small items were not overlooked which is often the case in rental properties. Amenities such as quality beach chairs, umbrellas, bikes, a baby crib, kitchen towels, movies and cleaning supplies were readily available. And last, but certainly not least, the owner was a pleasure to deal with. Mr Adams is extremely cordial and very responsive. Needless to say, it was a great vacation and we look forward to visiting again next year.
The house was very clean. This is the first beach house we have ever rented in 20 years where we didn't need to clean the windows to have a clear view of the ocean. This house had everything to make for a great stay on or off the beach. The rooms were high end (like another reviewer said - the web pictures do not fully convey how nice the house is), kitchen well equipped, an indoor/outdoor sound system, wifi, CD & VCR player with lots of movies, books, ping pong table, two refrigerators, beach umbrellas, beach chairs, lots of very nice porch rocking chairs, indoor and outdoor beach games -- I'm sure there was more, but we didn't have time to use it all. The house also had a crib and baby gates. In addition, Mr. Adams was just a phone call or text away if we had any issues. I really liked this experience over renting from a rental company. It was an excellent home. We thank you for a great stay!
