This remarkable and charming villa is comprised of 5 pavilions, tiled pathways, gardens, terraces, decks, balconies, and pool patio gathered behind a curved gate, sided by stone walls, and dropping off to spectacular ocean views.
We think that once you enter through Cielo’s welcoming gate, you will think you stepped into paradise! The villa was designed as a private compound in which sleeping and living rooms are in separate pavilions that surround the sparking private pool and are set in the tropical garden courtyards. The views are spectacular and there are no photos to do them justice...
The charming and colorful living pavilion is poolside and your flat screen TV and stereo speakers are located here, and one can see out to the pool, gardens, and ocean from any of the seating. Evenings are magically relaxing with the lamps’ glow and the pool lights, stars, breezes, and music.
Cielo’s kitchen is completely open. It connects the chefs with the gardens, built in grill station, dining and living areas, the entire pool terrace, and constant views.
Guests love the pantry, full of colorful fiesta ware dishes and all types of serving pieces and glassware. The kitchen has all stainless appliances: wall oven, gas cook top, dishwasher, fridge, and microwave. We do have our priorities in place and offer you two drip coffee machines, a bean grinder, a French press, espresso machine, and an ‘old’ school’ percolator. And a tea pot!
The 5 bedrooms suites all have ceiling fans and a/c (except our Palm suite which is so breezy, we have to shut the windows at night and has a ceiling fan!), balconies, terraces, decks, candles and plenty of reading lamps, and en suite bathrooms with fluffy towels, hair dryers, scented glycerin soaps, and other thoughtful amenities. Our outdoor shower is a delight, and each suite offers privacy and a unique decor.
Hibiscus Suite: Enjoy this serene king suite, tucked away on the second floor in our main pavilion. French doors open to its shady balcony and colorful hammock. The balcony overlooks the entrance courtyard with its peaceful gardens, and offers views up to our peaceful rain forest mountain to the east.
Palm Suite: You have total privacy in this separate bi level pavilion, which sits on the side of the mountain off the living area of the house. It consists of a breezy sitting room above a sunny queen bedroom suite. French doors open from the bedroom to the large private deck, with its hammock, table and chairs, and potted palms. The cut coral stairway curves from the deck up to the pool terrace, and the ocean view from the hammock is gorgeous.
Oasis Suite: Our master king bedroom is located in the second level of Cielo’s main pavilion. The suite is spacious and has a separate dressing area and large en suite bathroom. Ten foot wide French doors open to the large shaded balcony, with its comfortable seating, which overlooks the swimming pool and the endless ocean views.
Coral Cottage: This queen bedroom suite is cozy and quiet. It has a hidden terrace located at the top of curved stone stairs from the pool patio, and a secluded outdoor shower with more stone work, palm plants, and teak bench. The ocean view from the terrace is stunning.
Calypso Suite: This welcoming first floor suite includes lots of closet space, a dressing area, and in addition to the king bed can accommodate two twins. French doors open to its shady covered patio area with hammock adjacent to the pool and it has the same fantastic views that Oasis enjoys.

We hope the information here encourages our potential guests to think about what constitutes theirs, and to contact us with any questions. We are happy to share what we know about these islands, traveling here, activities, and other rental villas—we are looking for a ‘good fit’ and a joyous vacation experience for our BVI guests!
“Our family has traveled all over the Caribbean for the past 20 years. Cielo provided far and away the best experience we’ve ever had. There was no ‘take the money and run’ feeling with this vacation— Nancy and her staff could not have been nicer— nothing was asking too much. We found the island and its people charming, and the house perfect for our needs-and with a view like that, we needed little else!”
'Our family considers our stay at Cielo Villa the best trip we have ever done!'

We want your vacation experience in the BVI's to be wonderful, and are so sure of Cielo's charms, we will match any comparable Tortola villa's rental rate!
My four children and I first visited the British Virgin Islands in 2001 after searching for a safe and relaxed island where we could immerse ourselves in the Caribbean's natural beauty and peace. We found that, and so much more, on Tortola, one of the few islands that is still removed from the hustle that the Caribbean has become. One trip was all it took for us to fall in love with the island and house.
Cielo's amazing manager, Janet, and I know the island well, and do everything we can to introduce our guests to the activities, places, and events that best serve their individual vacation needs.
Time and resources are precious, and your vacation pleasure and comfort are of utmost importance to us. It is my heartfelt wish to share this refreshing and peaceful home and the BVI's with you!
We would love to hear from you!

Nancy Shaw Kilty purchased this villa in 2000

Cielo was simply the best. You will not believe your eyes every time you look over Cane Garden Bay. It's so serene and the sunsets are stunning too. The booking process was very easy. Nancy was always prompt and sent along a ton of useful information to help plan our trip. We rented 3 of the 5 bedrooms and that was probably the hardest part of our stay: deciding which rooms to pick! The main living space of the house is open-air. We loved being able to open all the shutters, put on music and hang out by the pool. Our stay included a midweek cleaning and that was a very nice touch. Towels and bathrooms tend to get messy pretty quickly on vacation. Cielo was a highlight of our trip to Tortola and I would highly recommend it.
After a long day of travel we (8 people) arrived at Cielo Villa around 7PM. This was the second time for us at Cielo V. We had asked for dinner on arrival and were not disappointed. Rum punch all around and then island egg rolls that disappeared quickly! We could have made a meal out of them if served more but then came the chicken, beans and rice...Wow! Desert was pina collates, virgin and not. Afore mentioned was extra of course but well worth it! Before the food, grandson (14) was in the pool having a great time. Did I mention the view? Wow! Cane Garden beach and the BVI islands to the north! Roads to Cielo V are typical island roads with gravel on the last 200 feet. Nancy the owner was always available for questions by email and phone. All in all we had a great time with stories to tell in the years ahead!
Firstly, Nancy was so easy to deal with throughout the entire booking process, and provide us with ALL the information that we could have possibly needed to enjoy our stay in the BVI. The villa looked just as it does in the pictures, and I agree with other reviewers the view is absolutely amazing! It was the perfect location, although to get almost anywhere takes only 1/2 an hour, and we enjoyed having Cane Garden Bay so close.
I have to say that Janet, the manager, is an absolute JEM! From the time we arrived, she recognized us at the airport, drove us to Cielo Villa, confirmed the rental car, and gave us some amazing suggestions for food and activities. She made sure our groceries had been delivered, introduced us to the other guest, and gave us a tour and rundown of the way the villa was setup! Since it was low season Janet was not available for our whole stay (which was totally understandable), and without a person in her stead we had few unforeseen tasks during our stay. They were small things, but not what we had wanted to do on our holiday. Also, since she was not at the villa the breakfast food that was to be provided was slightly lacking. I will say that any problems we did encounter, Nancy provided a solution or tried to fix them as soon as possible.
Secondly, Nancy did recommend the most amazing boat captain Mitch, from Ocean Dreams, to charter us to Jost Van Dyke, Little Jost Van Dyke, Norman Island (Willy T), Sandy Spit, Peter Island (caves for snokling), and the Indians. He was amazing, friendly, and very accommodating!
Lastly, if you are diving I would HIGHLY recommend We Be Divers. The dive master is incredible! So knowledgeable about the area, and an excellent guide.
Overall we were very happy with our stay, but I would recommend checking if the manager will be there if you are looking for help with anything or property maintenance.
My family and I stayed at Cielo for 8 days in May for an island wedding. There were 12 people staying at the villa for 3 days and 10 people for the remainder of the time. The villa was full to capacity. 16 people is way to many. There are 5 bedrooms with a foldout couch that should only be for kids and has no privacy. The villa itself is a little old but has a lot of ambience. The kitchen was adequate with plenty of dishes and tables to eat at. The bathrooms, besides the master ( Rm 1), were small but fine. The unit was clean and gets cleaned once a week. Pool was small but also very nice. There is no washer or dryer in the villa which would be great when staying for a week. Laundry service is available but is extra. The grill looks like a gas grill but now is only used with charcoal. That is good to know before you are ready to put the meat on! 6 of 8 of the pool chair cushions were torn and need to be fixed or replaced. The villa has a great view of Cane Garden Bay with lots of privacy. That being said it is a little difficult to get to. You need 4 wheel drive! It rained quite a bit during our stay and one night we slid backwards down the road. It was pretty scary. Plan to arrive during the day or use the free pick up service. The villa needs a tech update. All the audio-visual equipment is old, the TV, VHS player, and the receiver. So you can't use your ipod or computer with their system. I used my Ipad all week for music but that wasn't ideal.
We found it easier to go to Roadtown (cheaper prices and more shopping) than CGB. The owner was very helpful with info and Janet the house manager was very responsive to needs. The view and privacy are the best assets of this villa.
Tortola was our favorite Caribbean island in search of relaxation. The owner Nancy is extremely thoughtful and did everything to assist us in planning our vacation. She communicated efficiently, professionally, and and was wonderfully friendly. Her management team is fabulous. Absolute gorgeous Villa with incredible sunsets views overlooking Cane Garden Bay from the pool, main living space, and room balconies. Cielo’s accommodations, pool and beautiful bay panoramic view made for us memories of a lifetime. The villa is very lovely. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower experience. It was great. Thank you Cielo! We will be back.
The newly renovated Cielo villa was more than we imagined. We had the honor of being the first guests. Everything very clean, tidy, fresh and very beautiful. The beds and bathrooms are comfortable and pristine. We rented Cielo Villa for our November vacation. The villa is well decorated, well designed, and very practical. Guest services were perfect, from arrangement for pick-up on arrival to our departure. The property manager met to tour the villa with us, and took great care of us.
The Villa is situated on 2 private acres with no other homes beside us, or between us and Cane Garden Bay 1,000 feet below. Our views are of the sea, St John and St Thomas, Cane Garden Bay, and the many beaches along our Northwest coastline. There are also lovely views of Sage Mountain and its Rain Forest all along our Eastern side.
Sunrises and sunsets are really quite beautiful from our pool terrace and bedroom balconies.
We are a 3 minute drive from Brewer's Bay beach and some of our guests like to walk Brewer’s hill for morning exercise. Brewer’s Bay is a quiet nature lover’s beach and off the beaten path.
Cane Garden Bay is only a 5 minute drive down the hill. It is a lovely beach with quite a few casual restaurants for lunches, dinners, and happy hours, as well as live music 7 nights a week. It also has a small grocery store, local bakery, gift shops, and outdoor local craft stalls, as well as a gas station and charter boat dock for day trips to our other islands.
Road Town, with its large grocery stores, shops, and ferry dock is less than a 15 minute ride from the house. Road Town also boasts many marinas, interesting restaurants, and nightlife.
Many of Tortola’s most romantic and picturesque restaurants are within a 10 minute drive from the villa. Our favorite taxi drivers from nearby Cane Garden Bay are happy to drive our guests to and from their restaurants of choice.
