Welcome to the Ross J. Lomas 1927 House!
5180 Old Lake Road, Geneva on the Lake, OH 44041
This home, built in 1927, is located on the east end of The Strip, in a neighborhood of full time residents. The location allows you the quiet enjoyment of a neighborhood, with a short walk to the bustle of Geneva on the Lake's entertainment strip. Two stories, with 3 bedrooms and full bath upstairs, a Dining room and living room with hardwood floors throughout. Large back yard with plenty of room for sunning, croquet, volleyball or bocce. Fenced back yard features a pergola and firepit; charcoal grill provided. Just 400 feet from Township park, which offers a pavillion for picnicing (think family reunion!), and plenty of room for softball or other sports. Beach access with charcoal grills in park. Walking distance to Piero's Pasta House, Madsen Donuts, Eddie's Grill.
I am a recent graduate of Syracuse University, Go Orange! After school I was faced with the scary question of 'where do I see myself next?'. After weighing my options, I decided to stay home to work for my family's business, which leads me to where I am now- helping you have the most memorable and relaxing stay here in Ashtabula County.

Living in a home versus a cottage. Private back yard.
We stayed here for a bachelorette party and it was the perfect home. It has several beds which was great. It did only have one upstairs bathroom for the whole house. That didn't bother us as we are all close but it may bother others who prefer more privacy. The house is located right on the same road as the strip and a short distance to walk. We could also hear the music coming from the strip that was playing. It was not an obnoxiously loud sound and could not be heard in the home. Just enough to get us motivated to go out and check out the night life. The front porch was where we spent a lot of time. The rocking chairs were great and it was fun to watch the people go by; you could also see the lake ,which was on the other side of the road, through the other houses. The table in the dining room was a great size for all of us to sit around. A great patio and fire pit area out back that we didn't utilize at all, although I wish we would have. The neighborhood we were in felt safe and was comfortable. Overall a great house for families or friends who was to get away.
We planned a long weekend get away in an area we hadn't experienced yet, with our busy adult children. The house is super quaint with all the early craftsmen touches, but what really sold us was the gorgeous backyard. We lit fires in the pit and cooked on the charcoal grill while relaxing in the comfortable outdoor furniture. There are glimpses of the lake from the front porch, which we spent some time on reading in the rockers. The bathroom is huge with plenty of shelf space for your stuff. The hostess was gracious and super accommodating. Our favorite parts of Geneva-on-the-Lake were the State Park (only 1 mile away) with a great bike/walking/running trail and beach, Madsen's Donuts, Eddie's Grill (a throw back gem), and GOTL Brewing (almost right across the street from the house). In the nearby town of Ashtabula there is an independent coffee shop that roasts their own, a smoke house called Briquettes and a long rail trail, Western Reserve. We also had great food in Cleveland and visited the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
This house is beautiful, very clean, love the yard!!! Very close to everything but far enough away that you don't hear all the noise. I would highly recommend this house.
Our family (2 adults and 1 4-year old) met up with college friends who have two sons (6 and 4). The House was excellent. The backyard was perfect to let the kids outside to burn off energy. The TV has been updated since the photos for a movie night. The state park just a little west of the house has a beach where you can even rent paddle boards and several good hiking trails that were easy for children. Absolutely recommend staying here.
The house is literally only a couple blocks from all the activity on the main strip. There was tons to go do if that is what you are interested in. One review was a little negative about the grill. While the charcoal grill is not huge and reminded us of the type of grills that are in state parks, we had no trouble with it at all and grilled a few different meals.
The photos really captured the place. It was clean, well-maintained, and exactly what we were looking for. The host was great about responding promptly. We would definitely go back!
This is a lovely home. We enjoyed it very much! The front porch and back yard got used a great deal by us and our 2 dogs. Very relaxing! Close to the park and the up town attractions in the opposite direction. It was great to have fans in each room upstairs and be able to use the washer and dryer. The kitchen was also stocked very well, including Wine glasses.
Thank you for sharing this awesome house with others!!!!!!!!!!!!
