Brand new custom-built cedar home completed in May of 2008. The house is on 1/2 an acre and has 300 ft of direct shore front with very little boat traffic for peace and quiet. Additional level 1/2 acre adjacent is available for use. Great for all lawn games, volleyball, batmitton, bocce, croquet etc. There is an outdoor gas grill on the lakeside on the slate patio and a fire pit on the lawn along with a 40 foot dock for your boat. There are two canoes at the house with life vests. Great fishing right off the dock - bass, perch, bullheads etc. There is a free State boat launch 1 mile south of the property. The water is shallow about 3' at the end of the dock, deepest point in the area is around 10'.
The house floor plan consists of three bedrooms, 2 full and one 1/2 bath. Full gourmet kitchen with gas range, stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. Dining area is connected to great room with 25 foot ceiling overlooking the lake with views facing west.
Our stay at the Ticonderoga house on the water was excellent. And, the weather was perfect. Thank you to our gracious hosts: Pete and Ron. The two of us stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed walks in town, absorbing the surrounding beauty of the lake and fall foliage. The Ti stores and local restaurants were very welcoming.
The house was so much more than what we expected. The description on the website is very modest compared to our experience. The great room gives a wonderful sense of openness and is very comfortable. The kitchen has high-end appliances and is very well done. We stayed downstairs in one of the master bedrooms and took advantage of the private bathroom, the comfortable king size bed and waking to a lovely view of the lake. The patio provides a marvelous view of the lake at sunset.
Having access to the canoes and our private dock added to our enjoyment
We took the ferry from Ti to Vermont for shopping. It was very convenient.
We recommend this home for couples, families or small groups (8-10) people
Having a larger family make travel complicated and expensive. Our trip to Ticonderoga was outstanding. Not only was there plenty to do (e.g. fishing, boating, hiking, Ft. Ticonderoga, etc.), staying at this home was comfortable and affordable. Children had direct access to the lake and plenty of room to play. Adults had a great time grilling, walking to town, and playing with the children. No muss. No fuss. A Walmart with extensive items was just a 5 minute drive. Just bring your clothes, move in, buy some groceries and have a good time! Easy. Relaxing. Fun.
We stayed Memorial day weekend with my family of four and my friend and his daughter. The arrangements were perfect for us. King bedroom for my wife and i, Bedroom for my friend and the kids stayed together in the room with bunkbeds and had a ball.. the yard had so much room and we diddnt see anyone too either side of us the entire weekend. The weather diddnt cooperate with us at all, It rained the entire first two days, the weather looked much better for tuesday so I contacted Peter to see if we could extend the vaca a day to catch the nicer weather. He not only accomadated us but diddnt charge us for the extra day. It really worked out great because we ended up having truck trouble to get fixed and the day was gorgeous out. walmart was so close yet the place was so tranquill. The local restaurants were excellent, We even found a dog park we decided to take our pugs too for the first time and they loved it. The house was clean, the dock was perfect for our 23ft boat. we had no luck fishing but im sure the weather had something to do with it. Peter and Ron were such a pleasure to deal with, We cant wait to go back. Already reserving next memorial weekend and hopefully we can go back before.
The property description was very accurate. It was clean, well stocked, and the open floor plan was great. Peter, the owner, was a joy to work with and very patient. I had started to book another property earlier this year on Lake George and did not feel comfortable with the owner of that property. The minute I spoke with Peter, I knew I made the right choice to switch. We also met Ron, his partner, during our stay, and he was just as friendly and helpful. The waterfront is shallow, which we expected, but we really enjoyed our 20 minute leisure ride out of the no wake zone to the lake. The king sized mattress upstairs appeared new and was EXTREMELY comfortable. We slept like a rock every night! The Super Walmart is 5 minutes away, some nice restaurants also within a 5 minute drive, as well as the public boat ramp, which is in the no wake zone and has plenty of parking (and it's free!) I can't think of anything that we needed that wasn't a short drive away. The dock was sturdy and set up with lines. If you're looking for a place with swimmable waterfront, this really isn't it, although the neighbors were swimming across the way. I knew this when I booked it, though, and we had no problem navigating our 23' walkaround from the boat ramp up to the house. We never had to worry about boat traffic waves smashing our boat against the dock! Also, there is a marina (Snug Harbor Marina) almost next to the boat ramp, on the way out to the lake. Every morning, we would stop for ice and fuel as needed to start our day. Doesn't get more convenient than that. We had one of the best vacations ever, and highly recommend it. You get alot of house and amenities for the dollar. There is a high likelihood that we will return next year! Thank you Peter and Ron!
We loved our week in Lake George staying at this very comfortable home. The placement on the Lake is wonderful as you get the quiet, serene setting and then can venture out to the big part of the Lake when you want to see more. The owners are very nice and attentive. Lot's of room to spread out and have fun on this property, and the dock area with canoes was our main goal and it worked out great.
Over the New Year holiday I had the pleasure of renting this beautiful
house with 10 of my friends. I was a little concerned that there
wouldn't be enough space for our entire party but I was pleasantly
surprised just how much room was available for everyone.
The rental is located about 5 minutes away from the town's Wal Mart
which made it incredibly convenient to get food and drinks - along
with anything else that we might have forgotten for our getaway. The
kitchen was stocked with modern appliances and all the silverware,
pans, cups, etc. that we would have needed. In the back of the house
there was ample space to do outdoorsy stuff as a group and since it
was warm out that weekend we were able to take the 2 canoes out for a
leisurely trip around the water.
I would highly recommend this to others and I'm sure I'll be back soon!
Additional notes: if you find yourself stuck indoors for awhile, this
place has an extensive DVD collection that would put Netflix streaming
Our beautiful custom built cedar home is located on the scenic and quiet north end of Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains. The area is well known for very low boat traffic and the best fishing on the lake. Whether you bring your own boat to our 40 ft dock or use our 2 canoes you will love catching Bass, Pike, Perch and maybe even Lake Trout or Land Locked Salmon. While visiting you are steps away from many beautiful hikes, some challenging and some easier but enjoyable for all levels of exploring the wilderness. Ticonderoga is also known for it's role in the French & Indian War as well as the Revolutionary War, don't miss exploring the famous Fort Ticonderoga and the beautiful grounds surrounding the fort.
