The Sun Spot for Those Needing a Little (or Lot of) Sun!

Bedrooms 2
Property type condo

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Convertible bed(s), Sleeps 6

Newly decorated third story end unit with ocean view at Ocean Harbor. Enjoy the relaxing, inviting sun and sea breeze! High grade mattresses on queen and twin beds, includes bed linens. Both baths newly renovated. All the amenities anyone could want! Dog friendly, but cats not allowed due to others' allergies.

There's always a lot to do at the beach, with the boardwalk close by! Beautiful sandy beach ideal for walking or jogging, shell hunting, people watching or just soaking up the warm sun. Lots of activities for all ages- offshore fishing, scuba diving, surfing, kayaking, windsurfing/kites, biking, sensational golfing throughout the area, the fantastic aquarium at Ft. Fisher and the historical Civil War museum and old fort layout.

Take a day trip to historical Southport (30 min. by ferry from south end of the island - great bicycling trip too, from condo only have to pedal 5 flat miles to ferry), then on to secluded Baldhead Island, accessible by ferry only, with bikes and golf carts being the sole modes of transportation.

There is plenty of shopping in the area for the shop-a-holics (or on rainy days, which is quite rare), including the new Mayfair Center. Don't forget, the Outlet Shops are one hour away in Myrtle Beach.

Easy commute through the Wilmington International Airport. The Wilmington river front is only 20 minutes away with a true southern gentility and charm that is such an ingrained part of the area. Beautiful historic homes, fine dining, friendly bistros and coffee houses.

If you haven't enjoyed all of this by the time you leave, then the lure of the sand and sun, the seashells and seagulls, and the lull of the ocean waves must have mesmerized you! Enjoy, because we natives certainly do! Beware though, it is hard to return to reality.

nice place & nice location

  • 4 of 5

Had a problem with the TV in the living room & the owner answered very quickly. Got it working the next time I tried. We had rain but went to Wilmington for the day - great day trip. Our last full day was beautiful. I am planning to come back next year this time & stay at the same place. Brought our dogs & it is a end unit, so the dogs did not bother anyone. They never heard anyone walking by the unit. Next year!!!!

Really great choice!

  • 4 of 5

Having always rented single family properties at the beach I was a little hesitant to try a Condo, but I was pleasantly surprised! This unit was a perfect choice for our weekend trip...the only reason for 4 out of 5 stars is that we couldn't see the ocean from our balcony (it faced the building directly in front of us). The only view of the ocean was thru the window in the Master Bedroom. Other than that - all was good - well stocked Kitchen (limited counter space though), comfortable beds, clean bathrooms (pretty recently updated I think?), quiet unit - could not hear any neighbors, A/C worked great, convenient location, lifeguard at the beach ...all in all, other than the major wind at the beach each day, it was a great choice and a nice weekend!! With the low pet fee I might return with my dogs next time - although I thought Wilmington County prohibits dogs on the beach May - October, we saw many dogs on the beach during our stay - never got a chance to ask the beach patrol about it.

Cute condo in an awesome location!

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the nicest and most affordable places that my family has rented. The location is a short walk to the beach and you can see the water from the balcony.

The condo itself is clean and tidy. The pet fee was low and it was nice to be able to bring my fur baby with us. It was also nice to be able to clean up after her with a functioning vacuum cleaner. :) so many times I have rented a house, found the vacuum and it didn't work.

The pool is really clean! There are really no chairs around it though, so bring your own unless you are okay laying on the pavement around it.

The Beach was not crowded and is really just a 2 minute walk. Don't worry about traffic, because there is not much down this way.

Nags Head waters tend to be choppy, making me nervous about my child playing in the waves. The waves here were not as intense and it was easier for him to play comfortably out there. (Age 11)

This was our first year visiting this beach so I wanted to throw my 2 cents out there for other newbies :)

The Sawmill: Excellent family style restaurant and southern cooking. Their staff was super sweet and gave us some tips on what to do while we were here.

Micheal's Seafood: Equally as excellent AND the 4 of us ate steamed shrimp entrees for around $90 after the 20% tip. We usually go to Captain George's and it costs around $120, so this was definitely a treat!

Also, their mashed potatoes are amazing. I could have eaten a bowl of those for dinner and been fine.

Squiggly's Ice Cream: We liked it so much we went twice. Head over there early to avoid a line. Cutest Ice Cream / Gift Shop ever. So many choices and a great group of ladies working there.

The Boardwalk was cool and I'm glad that we checked it out. I compared it to my local county fair which I am usually pleased with. The ticket prices were reasonable for the rides and the folks working them were friendly. I did unfortunately purchase 2 flat Mountain Dew soft drinks from one of the vendors, which was disappointing.

There are also a lot of shops you can check out, restaurants, bars and of course sweets. (My favorite)

Poppy's Palace is a local arcade. We had a blast in there for around $30 with the 4 of us playing games.

If you happen to drive a full size SUV/Truck, you may experience parking issues. Most of the spaces are very small and accommodate cars and midsize vehicles, but the larger you get, the harder it is to get

Owner's Response: Hi Tuesdaay, so glad you had a great time. Yes Carolina Beach is very different from Nags Head. Much safer in the water. I do hope you checked out Britt's Donuts on the boardwalk. Best ever!
