Start your day enjoying coffee on your covered porch, looking at the beach and turquoise water, watching boats and yachts go in an out of the Boat Harbour and absorbing the feel of being in the tropics. Feel at home in our island getaway, fully equipped and waiting for you.
A short stroll down the driveway puts you right on the private beach where you can lay on a lounge chair under a palm tree. Or, you can snorkel right off the beach in the clear water of the Sea of Abaco. There also is fabulous snorkeling at Mermaid Reef, a short distance away – or walk a block and sign up at the dive shop for a snorkel or scuba trip. Although you feel secluded from the world, you are conveniently located and an easy walk to shops, restaurants, local ferries taking you to the Out Islands and boat, car and bike rentals. Many restaurants feature Bahamian style cooking, offer umbrella drinks and have beautiful views. For groups, arrangements can be made for additional condos.
Marsh Harbour is a great location for exploring all the Abacos have to offer. And since the Abacos run at a much slower pace, it’s a perfect getaway destination.
We purchased this property because we love the slower pace of life in the Bahamas and this condo was so convenient to everything. Taxi's are reasonable but we can walk to almost everything - including the grocery store, liquor store, bakery, hardware store and bank - as well as all the shops and restuarants. There is "no problem" when we are in the Bahamas. And we LOVE the water!
The unit was nice and clean and everything we needed for our stay. The view from the balcony was awesome. We liked that it was just a short stroll to the beach and within walking distance to restaurants and little shops. Would definately recommend staying there. Hope to go back soon.
My husband and i were lucky enough to spend February and March at the Regattas in Abaco, we rented the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo on top of the hill, great ocean views. The pool is under-utilized, we practically had it to ourselves most days and the beach was empty a lot of the time. It is very quiet there and was exactly what we were looking for. The Regattas is very well situated, within walking distance of Maxwell's grocery store, most of the restaurants and Mermaid Reef, also easy walking distance to catch the ferries to the other islands which i highly recommend you visit, Hopetown is great with the homemade key lime pie at Vernon's a must to try. The 3 quays we visited are all unique and we recommend you visit them all, but buy a ferry pass, comes in a book of 5 and is less expensive then buying them singly. We rented a car a few times, was expensive so was convenient to be able to walk most places. As far as the Regattas itself areas were showing their age but that being said work was being done to update constantly. We would return to the Regattas and Abaco and in general really enjoyed ourselves, we only had 3 days of rain the whole time we were there and had a couple of cool days in February. The water was too cool to swim in for the first 2 weeks but warmed up after and we were in most days. The only real downside to Abaco is the cost of groceries, they are very expensive so we recommend you bring what snacks and things that you can when you come. Also our condo owner was very helpful, with a nice write up on what to do, having a new dishwasher installed when the old one quit on us, etc. Yes we would return for sure
I have stayed before at the Regattas at a different unit. This unit was very nice and clean with great air conditioning and views of the Sea of Abaco. It is on a high elevation with a great porch to relax on. It is very close to everything and the taxi service was convenient. Call them on VHF 06 and they will come right over. Jeanette was great to work with, very professional and easy to deal with. Will definitely stay there again.
My family and I truly enjoyed our time in Marsh Harbour. The condo was very clean and had an amazing view. There is wonderful swimming and a beautiful lagoon to snorkel at. The unit has all the kitchen utensils and appliances needed to eat in which we did on most nights. There are restaurants right across the street that have a wonderful view and great food if don't feel like cooking a dinner. We will be returning again next year!
This property is located on a nice private beach and within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, ferry to other islands, and the taxi stand. The pool was awesome! We found the condo to be run down and outdated. The appliances and WIFI were sub-par. There was no phone to make local calls and the pay phone on property wasn't working.
Our time in Marsh Harbour was delightful. The property was clean, quiet and in a very desirable location in Marsh Harbour. The beach was very clean and quiet, there was always a lounger available. Great snorkelling out front. The pool was cold, we much preferred to swim in the ocean. Laundry was expensive, and it was difficult to find change in town for laundry. The unit was clean and stocked with all we needed. It would have been useful to have a phone for local calls in the unit, but there was a pay phone on the property. We were within walking distance to the ferry, restaurants, shopping and grocery store, but did need to take a taxi back with groceries. Taxis were readily available and on time. 2 weeks was possibly too long, as we felt very relaxed after 1 week and were looking for more adventure in the 2nd week. Also, most of the residents were over 50 years old, we are in our early 30s and traveled with our 2 year old, so there weren't many people our own age to connect with. We did find more people in our demographic in Hopetown on Elbow Cay.
