Guestbook comments from the owner

Our visit celebrated the 20th anniversary of our bi-annual family reunions coinciding our Mom's 80th birthday. Our group of 17 people stay at a different location each time we get together and your home is now one of the favorites. The rooms are spacious, the setting picturesque, many folks swam from the pier each day, others played pool downstairs or cards on the deck, still others parked in the comfy chairs with a book for hours. We hiked, biked and boated and dined at the supersized harvest table each night with plenty of kitchen and tableware. The house is very thoughtfully equipped and we all had a great time. Thanks! Great Winter Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our bookclub group of 8 women just spent the weekend in this beuatiful home. The house had lots of bedrooms which was great, wonderful communal spaces that worked well for discussions around the fire, a great farmhouse table that held all of us ( and cuoold have held 8 more), many bottles of wine and tons of food we prepared. The kithcen came equipped with lots of china, flatware, glassware and pots and pans. The house was clean adn well maintained. The owner called us the morning after we arrived to make sure we were settled in and did not have any questions or problems, and offered information about nearby activities -a very nice touch. The house is right on the lake with beautiful vista out the windows and off the decks of the lake. We hiked on the lake and met ice fisherman and many others that even in the winter used the lake. The Elegant Farmer was a wonderful country style grocer just down the road with wonderful prepared foods and desserts that enhanced our meals. There were not many fine dining choices in town, but there were grocery stores and necessities were easily had within 10 minutes, and Lake Geneva was a side trip we considered . The house was a two hour drive from downtown Chicago on a snowy winter Friday night. It truly was a wonderful place to relax and unwind, and while there were many activities within 30 minutes, we were quite content to enjoy the wonderful house. This house would also be fabulous for a group of families or a group of adults that wanted to partake in outdoor activities.

Great house with tons of room outdoors to hang out

  • 5 of 5

We had a large group of guys and needed a big venue. The house was perfect for us. The backyard on the lake was awesome. It is a lot larger than the pictures do it justice. To give you an idea we had a 8 on 8 game of whiffleball. We will be going back again next year for sure.

Gorgeous lake!

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 14 gathered to celebrate my parents' 50th anniversary. The house is spacious and perfect for large families. The long dining table was our favorite feature in the house--really lovely. We found the kitchen to be set up well well-equipped, and we did a fair amount of cooking and grilling. The open concept between dining and living areas is ideal for people who like to be together! Lake Beulah is a beautiful lake--so clean and quiet. We rented a pontoon for three of our days during the week and so enjoyed boat rides along the shores--lots of incredible homes to view. The dock is also very nice at the house. We brought many toys--paddle board, kayak, rafts, etc.--and all the kids as well many of the adults had so much fun in the water.

The things I would recommend making improvements on--the main floor bathroom has a shower that needs a new floor (there was a rubber mat covering the drain that actually prevented the water from draining properly--so I had to lift it up to drain the water as I showered, and I found the shower bottom to be really in bad shape), the basement bathroom was in awful shape (didn't seem to have been cleaned carefully before our arrival--the shower needs to be replaced), and the carpet on the deck needs to be redone (its such a great outdoor space with a wonderful view--I would rip up the carpet and replace the wood with something like the dock is made from). The trek down from the house to the water is mighty steep--if you have elderly people (and we did), it's not easy for them to get down to the water (where a lot of the action is during the summer months). I don't know what can be done to alleviate that challenge--I saw some homes had lifts/elevators because of the steepness. I recommend really emphasizing that element in the description so people know what to expect.

We had a terrific time and we really enjoyed the Lake Geneva area as a place of celebration and fun for our family!

Family Reunion in June

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in this Wisconsin home. The home had all the furnishings we could need, a great view and plenty of space. The owner was accommodating, and most importantly prompt and thorough in any correspondence. Very easy and great to work with. Made the process and stay that much better. Some additional perks of the home are some baskets of toys for children, DVDs and a well stocked kitchen as far as cooking ware and dinnerware. Overly we can not say enough good things about this home, and the owners. Thanks for a great few days.

Had a Great Weekend

  • 5 of 5

The location on the lake was great. We were easily able to take our boat on the water and come back every so often to get food.

The large dining table and porch was perfect for our group to always be in the same area. Everyone had an awesome time at the lake house.

The property was as advertised and was extremely clean upon arrival. The owner is nice and attentive to make sure your stay is great.

Would definitely come back the next time I get a large group together for a weekend trip.
