Our beautiful home was built in 1902 and has all of the charm of a home from that era. We are located about 1 block from historic Bellevue Ave, where the mansions are located. And 1/2 block from Thames St which contains excellent food from around the world. Seafood, Italian, sushi or just a quick bite. Downtown Newport will also let you shop till you drop if that is what you prefer. Newport has something for everyone, there is a great park a short distance for young children.
We had been vacationing in Newport for about 10 years before we finally decided to purchase a home here. We did this because it gave us a home base in a placed we all loved to go to. Now we use this home to share with other vacationers who also want to experience Newport
When we first saw this house, we both fell in love with it. The old world detail on the rail on the stairs. The classic bathroom on the 2nd floor, the door knobs all of the touches we liked. Most importantly was the size and the sleeping capacity of the home. Having a finished 3rd floor with a full bath was a bonus!!
First let me say how great the property manager Kim Ford was. She was so helpful with any questions that we had.We happened to get there when it was very hot and she helped us with the a/c units. The home is a grand old home from 1902. It has 4 bedrooms on one floor and s neat 3rd floor unit that had its own bathroom that could sleep three. Great kitchen and living areas. Nice front porch and rear deck. We walked everywhere and even to Easton beach .great place to rent for Folk festival or Jazz fest !
Our 3 families stayed here and it was perfectly located between the mansions and shops/restaurants. House was stocked with essentials and property manager responsive. Can't wait to come back.
This house was charming and had plenty of room for 4 adults and 5 kids. Great location we could and did walk right downtown and to the store and the cliff walk. Look forward to staying here again.
My family and I rented this home during the month of June 2014. The family consisted of a total of 6 adults and 4 children, with other family members visiting during our stay. There was always plenty of room for everyone, and the backyard was a hit with the kids. The home is close to everything, including restaurants for the adults and parks and the beach for everyone. The house itself is very well kept and the property manager welcomed us on our arrival and was available in case we needed anything. We will not be visiting Newport in 2015, but hope to come back in 2016 and plan to reserve it when we return.
We stayed for one week at this home in June 2012 and had a great vacation. Our week started off without the kids and this property was perfectly located within walking distance of everything - resaturants, bars, shops, pier, ect. There was plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable, property description is accurate on 4BR and 1Loft and sleeps 10.
Later our children (toddlers) joined us and there was plently of room in the house for all of us - tons of space. The kids loved the loft space and we appreciated cable tv to put on some cartoons in the morning for them. The home has a lot of charm and the location was just perfect, we put the kids in strollers and were able to walk to the cliff walk for sunrise (also a nice jog if you like to run), check out the mansion and there is a park close by. Newport is an excellent destintation for a getaway as there is soo much to do.
The owner and agent are professional and easy to contact with any questions. There was one minor problem we had when we arrived and it was taken care of right away, which was greatly appreciated.
Our families would return to the property.
We stayed at the property in July 2011. It perfectly suited our needs of two large families sharing the home. There was plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. The home was clean and well - taken care of. The location is excellent for walking to shops, restaurants, and tourist attractions as well as an easy ride to the beach. The owner is responsive and easily accessible by both phone and email. We would highly recommend this property and look forward to our own future stays.
