Our beautiful home was built in 1902 and has all of the charm of a home from that era. We are located about 1 block from historic Bellevue Ave, where the mansions are located. And 1/2 block from Thames St which contains excellent food from around the world. Seafood, Italian, sushi or just a quick bite. Downtown Newport will also let you shop till you drop if that is what you prefer. Newport has something for everyone, there is a great park a short distance for young children.

About Phil Altman

We had been vacationing in Newport for about 10 years before we finally decided to purchase a home here. We did this because it gave us a home base in a placed we all loved to go to. Now we use this home to share with other vacationers who also want to experience Newport

Why Phil Altman chose Yachting Village

When we first saw this house, we both fell in love with it. The old world detail on the rail on the stairs. The classic bathroom on the 2nd floor, the door knobs all of the touches we liked. Most importantly was the size and the sleeping capacity of the home. Having a finished 3rd floor with a full bath was a bonus!!

  • Four of the bedrooms are all located on the same floor. The master with a queen sized bed, 2 bedrooms with full sized beds, and 1 bedroom with a day bed. The 3rd floor has a full sized bed with a fouton as well. The 3rd floor has its own full bathroom with a shower.

Our home comes complete with everything you need for your vacation. From wine glasses to pots and pans. The Stop & Shop is a 3 minute drive. There is also a convience store a short distance away. We are 1 block away from Thames St for great restaurants and night life. We are just over 1 block from Bellvue Ave for all of the history of newport with the mansions. Our home gives you all that you would think of when you come to Newport. The harbour is a short walk tom watch the sunset over the Newport Bridge. Come relax and enjoy

Location, location, location!

Big house very close to Thames St, Mansions, and Cliff Walk. Quick drive to the beaches. Easy to have lots to do with little kids. House is a bit dated and could use some updates but overall clean and comfortable for our extended family trip of 5 adults, toddler, and infant. Thanks to Phil as well for being extremely responsive to questions!!

Not up to VRBO standards

This house does not live up to home away standards!!! The owner has neglected this property due to college kids that occupy house during the year ,which we met 2 of them while sitting on porch!!!Seems as though owners were neglectful of their needs as well,Neither owner or rental agent were apologetic of the issues that we indurred!!The house was beautiful as is Newport.In my opinion unless these issues with house are resolved I would look elsewhere fora vacation home.

Owner's Response: I am sorry you feel that way from the minute you checked in there were issues. I was responding to every communication within 30 min trying to find a solution for you. You didn't like the mattress I had my property manager deliver a new one. I bent over backwards I was tempted to tell you to leave fri night because I knew you were going to be trouble and give you a full refund All of our other guest had a great time this summer and we met and exceeded there expectations. If you were expecting the 4 Seasons yes I did not measure up to that but you didn't pay for that I provide I vacation home that is clean and complete as if I were staying there by the way I am putting a new kitchen in for next summer I am sorry you were uncomfortable that you met some college students who were my tenants. You are right this is a all year round rental property and the feeling is mutual you will not be staying in my house again

Great House

House is great and Phil was easy to work with. Large home in a short walk to everything. parking for 4 auto's. don't park on the street or you will be tagged. Plenty of hot water and three full baths. linen is included with washer and dryer. clean !1920 home

Comfortable, spacious Newport rental

The house was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We rented to accommodate relatives for our son's wedding and stayed through the next week. The location was perfect; close to both restaurants and shops and to beaches. Be sure to get over to Mama Louisa's for a great Italian dinner and to Winner Winner for takeout fried chicken; both are a block away.

Amazing house! Perfect location!

This property is absolutely beautiful! Perfect for our family. Nice backyard with BBQ. Walking distance to nearly everything in Newport. Tons of space, plenty of parking. We will definitely be returning to this perfect rental home.

Beautiful home with plenty of room and great location

We loved our stay in Newport. The house is roomy and comfortable for many people. And the location cannot be beat with easy access to shopping, restaurants and beaches. We just got home and are already talking about next summers vacation!
