Overview

Damariscotta Lake Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4

Tribby Cottage is located in the country town of Jefferson in Midcoast Maine which is 3 hours from Boston and 1 hour from Portland. It is both a private retreat and a place to enjoy the outdoors with your family and friends. It is the last cottage on the road and is surrounded by trees and fields. The cottage is nestled into a gentle hill that slopes down to the water's edge which about 100ft from the front door. At the shoreline you will find a small deck with stairs that lead to the small beach, dock and a canoe and kayak. Clary Lake is approximately 6-700 acres and 25 feet deep. It is a quiet lake with bass, perch and pickerel for enjoyable fishing.

Inside the cottage there is a large but cozy pine paneled living space with a wood stove, couch and seating area with a TV and DVD player, upholstered chairs by the picture window, and a dining area. The kitchen offers a stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, large refrigerator, and all the pots, pans and utensils needed to cook a delicious meal. The tiled bathroom has a shower. There are three sleeping areas: the largest provides a queen bed, dresser and large closet, the second has a single bed and dresser, the third is a sleeping loft above the kitchen which is accessible by a built in ladder and has windows that overlook the lake. The loft has a queen sized futon, and is often the kid’s preference.

The front door to the cottage opens onto the deck which has a picnic table and Adirondack chairs and the charcoal grill is adjacent to the deck.

For local provisions there is: the Superette, a small grocery/gas store which also rents dvds, Sheepscot General, a general store and cafe which features organic, local food, and roadside farm stands. Also in the immediate area is Damariscotta Lake State Park, The Scoop ice cream stand, 100 Acre Woods which offers horseback riding, Sheepscot Links which offers a 9 hole golf course and Hidden Valley Nature Center which offers a twenty five mile trail system with many outdoor activities.

Tribby cottage is 20 minutes away from both Augusta and Damariscotta. Augusta, Maine's State Capital, offers all the big box stores, grocery markets, banks, movie theatres, airport, highways and a the nationally recognized Maine State Museum. Damariscotta is a quaint coastal town. The coastal area offers ocean beaches, lighthouses, hiking, boat tours, sea kayaking, galleries, charming shops, antiques, great restaurants and lobster.

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week! Clean, comfortable, private, quiet and the kitchen was stocked with everything you need for dishes. The lake level is low but the kids and dogs didn't mind. The adults used rafts to get to deeper water. Such a wonderful place to relax!

Serene and Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Clean and cozy cottage in a beautiful part of Maine. Rolling hills, blueberry barrens and small agricultural enterprises abound in the area. Nearby are many farmstands to purchase fresh provisions for your stay.

The owners provide a very informative and helpful binder about the history of the cabin and area attractions.

Not far from the state capitol or mid-coastal Maine villages.

The cabin is at the end of a quiet gravel road and offers much tranquility.

Took the canoe out first thing in the morning and no one else was on the lake but for a great blue heron and a kingfisher. No loons that day.

I would surely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway within 1/2 hour from city or town.

fantastic!!

  • 5 of 5

A lovely, quiet, and absolutely charming getaway!

In addition, the place was immaculate and at the same time quaintly rustic.

Plenty of space to spread out, and at the same time accommodate a number of people.

During our stay we went to Sheepscot General, Morse's Saurkraut, and visited the shell middens in Damariscotta.

All in all a lovely visit.

A charming cabin, full of character.

  • 5 of 5

This is one of my all time favorite summertime stays. The cabin is so sweet, loads of fun for the kids in the loft bedroom and the kitchen is perfectly outfitted. You are within easy driving distance of the coast but tucked out of the frenzied summer traffic. Whitefield and Jefferson both have surprising things on offer. And listening to the loons in the early morning hours is magical!

Could not have been nicer.

  • 5 of 5

I couldn't have enjoyed my time spent at Tribby Cottage more. What a peaceful setting and a warm and inviting cottage. I felt instantly at home. The cottage is clean, well kept and well equipped but that was just icing on the cake as the place is so cozy and relaxing and that was the best part. Geographically a great location, Tribby cottage is centrally located and easy access to lots of locations but still offers a remote and secluded private setting. Owners were accommodating and friendly. I look forward to an opportunity to return soon.
