Enjoy sunsets all year round in our two-bedroom, two-bathroom, oceanfront condo with a beach park next door. Gorgeous ocean views are amplified by a mirrored wall. This non-smoking condo is excellent for families, two couples, or a small group of friends. There is a queen bed in each bedroom and a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room with an extra thick mattress. Maximum occupancy is six persons. Two full bathrooms are an added convenience. The unit was completely remodeled in 2007 and newly furnished at the end of 2009, plus the owners add and replace items every year to keep it up-to-date. It has free, reliable wi-fi internet access, a washer and dryer, and two televisions. The kitchen is fully equipped for easy meal preparation and all linens are provided, including beach towels. There's also a closet full of beach gear, pool toys, a cooler, boogie boards, golf clubs and more for your outdoor recreation.

MENEHUNE SHORES is a peaceful, immaculately tended, oceanfront complex located on the beach in Kihei, a twenty minute drive from the Kahului airport. Shopping, surfing and excursion opportunities are just minutes away. Our third-floor lanai overlooks the pool and the ocean, with views to West Maui and the island of Lanai. Our unit does not look out at other condos like many other complexes, just green and blue space. The solar-heated oceanfront pool, barbecue grills, and shuffleboard are located next to a small beachfront park which is perfect for young children. More grills and tables are located on the roof deck which provides fabulous 360-degree views of Maui, including Molokini Crater, Lanai and Kaho’olawe islands, and Haleakala Volcano. Protected swimming at the King’s Pond Beach right in front of Menehune Shores is a plus for visitors who want shallow ocean swimming without strong currents or large surf. Humpback whales can often be seen from the condo December through April, and the National Humpback Whale Marine Sanctuary headquarters and lookout is right next door.

We are an adventurous family of five from Encinitas, California, with midwestern roots (Michigan and Wisconsin). We love camping, surfing, skiing, hiking and traveling as much as our work, schedules, and finances allow.

We bought this property when we had the opportunity because of our love of the islands and Maui in particular.
Menehune Shores is ideally located on the north side of Kihei, where it is quiet and more peaceful than in town, yet only a mile from shopping, restaurants and all the activities Kihei offers. It is also convenient to get just about anywhere you want on the island without a long drive, whether it's Wailea/Makena, the North Shore, Lahaina/Ka'anapali, or Kahului and the airport. There is a small, quiet beach adjacent, the National Humpback Whale Marine Sanctuary headquarters next door, then green space and miles of beach to walk beyond that. We love that the unit looks out onto ocean, bay, and natural green space, not other condos! Plus the beach next door is mellow and kid-friendly.
From our guestbook: Thank you so much Vicki for a very comfortable and well-kept condo! We loved that it was centrally located on Maui. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee on the lanai to the beautiful ocean view, we greatly appreciated the well-equipped closet of beach gear, especially the beach chairs and boogie boards. There were sea turtles on the rock wall one day and we really enjoyed watching and photographing them. We spent many bright, sunny days laying out by the pool and ended them BBQing as the sun settled down. We visited many great restaurants and did lots of shopping on the island. A few of our favorites were 808 Deli, Da Kitchen, and for a good steak try Duo. We rented mopeds from Maui Scooter Shack and had a blast driving them around. We ziplined at Maui Zipline through an amazing Hawaiian plantation. Enjoyed snuba, hiking, and swimming the ocean. We also spent an evening at the Old Lahaina Luau. Enjoyed a delicious dinner followed by beautiful Hawaiian dancers sharing their cultural history through their dance and music. We had so much fun and can't wait to visit again. We would stay in your condo again in a heartbeat! Thank you for the accommodations.
The process to book was simple and seamless. This is our 2nd time in Maui and the first time in Kihei and I enjoyed the stay. It's so calm and relaxing. Parking is included with your stay (which many of the other properties do not offer), the condo is fully equipped with kitchen items, towels, beach items. The balcony was huge and we enjoyed breakfast every morning overlooking the ocean. The condo was a lot of windows for open air. Our deposit was returned promptly.

My second time second in this unit at the amazing Menehune Shores. Now I've fallen more in love with it than I did the first time. Vicki and Dave have created the perfect haven for those that want to experience Maui in comfort and beauty. Perfect location, right on the beach and I'm a runner so waking up to lacing my sneakers to run the Maui roads was a tropical breeze! Can't say enough how much I love this unit and we were already planning the next stay as we're packing up to depart from this current stay :( Officially I'm hooked!
Second time at Menehune Shores, first time in this unit - stayed for a month. Condo was well furnished with newer appliances. Lots of beach and pool gear AND 2 sets of golf clubs. Owners are very conscientious & easy to deal with. Building and grounds are well maintained. Good size swimming pool, shuffleboard, barbecue grills by the pool and on the rooftop. Rooftop a great place to eat and enjoy the sunsets. Its a great location. Definitely would stay here again.
This property was perfect for our stay. Six adults fit well in the space, and the property was clean and well furnished. The communication with the property owners was excellent. It was our first time to the island, and I had all the information I needed (greatly appreciated!) We enjoyed the central location, the nearby beach, and the shuffle board. We would stay at this location again.
Our party of 4 adults and 2 children had everything we needed in this unit. The kids found tons of beach gear to use. With 2 bathrooms and lots of space throughout nobody felt cramped. There are great beaches in both directions, starting with the one right on the doorstep. The complex is well maintained, the patio and roof BBQs are spotless. The sounds of the surf and the view from the lanai are what memories are made of.
We had a wonderful time. Condo was perfect for 3 Adults and still plenty of room. Coffee on the lanai, watching the pacific was so relaxing. Location is central to most thing on the island. Elevator, pool and bbq were all used and in great working order. Third trip to Maui and hope to return soon. I can't thank you enough for the use of your condo.
