'Quinta De Lamoso' is a 300-year-old Manor House, set in a 15 hectares property including lovely gardens, a swimming-pool and a chapel. It is located in a small valley with stunning unspoiled views, in Caldelas, renowned for its Spa, situated 50km north of Oporto.

It is a 17th century granite manor house, typical of the Minho region, with magnificent architectural lines, with two floors.

We are dealing with an hospitable, functional and well-equipped house, almost all furnished with antique and well-preserved furniture.

Golf and tennis are available in the area. many beaches and rivers are nearby. There are excellent restaurants and good shopping facilities locally.

The village Braga is 15 minutes away. Oporto, where you can taste the Oporto wine and the airport is approximately 1 hour by car.

Great value for money!!

Last summer, I've spent a week, together with my family (wife and 3 kids), at this magical ancient farm house.

This was not the first time that we spent some holidays in Portugal. During the last 3 consecutive years we went to the (busy) Algarve, but this time we were looking for something different. Some of our friends had been in this area of Portugal before,and gave us a with very positive feedback.

After looking at many websites in order to find the right place to spend our holiday week we found this ancient house. Initially we were a little reluctant because of our 3 kids (the youngest is just 3yo). Although we liked the description and pics we didn't know if the house was functional enough in order to host my family...

The fact is that we spent an amazing week, away from the buzz of London, with plenty of space on the outside. It's a house full of character but completely functional. It has to be said that we were not looking for luxury. We needed a place, comfortable enough to spend some time with our children. The house was very clean when we checked in, which was very critical for us. The house has some beautiful gardens that were an incredible playground for our children. We also had plenty of tips from the owners when we arrived, indicating local restaurants and shops, and some places that we couldn't miss.

On top of that, this local typical places proven to be quite inexpensive and the service was always above the average. Amazing local food and local wine.

Definitely this were some unforgettable holidays that didn't cost the earth and tasted like heaven.

Bonjour, pour ma part j'ai loué cette propriété au mois de Juillet dernier durant 1 semaine et notre séjour s'est merveilleusement bien passé. Non seulement le contexte est magnifique (le Gèrês), comme la maison en soit est tout à fait charmante et possède tout type de commodité. C'est une propriété familiale très ancienne, pleine d'histoire qui a su garder tout enchantement tout en possèdant les services nécessaires pour 1 semaine de vacances. C'est idéal pour les personnes qui aiment se promener dans la nature et qui aime découvrir un peu d'histoire. Il y a une piscine justa à côté de la maison pour les adultes et les enfants, derrière la maison il y a un fantastique patio avec un arbre centenaire, parfait pour un long déjeuner en famille ou un barbecue avec des amis. La maison est très confortable, tout a fait adéquate pour un séjour en famille, tranquille, entourée para la nature et acomapnhée également d'un bon bouquin. Dans la région, ne pas oublier plusieurs lieux touristiques à visiter et bons restaurants traditionnels à découvrir. Très bon rapport qualité/prix, des propriétaires très agréables. Je conseille vivement!

A charming old farmhouse

We (2 adults, 2 teenagers) stayed here for a week in July 2010. It a beautiful area of Portugal with hills and mountains. The villa is indeed a charming old Portuguese farmhouse. As it is an old property, if you are going to rent it, be aware that it is what it says it is - an old farmhouse. It is not designed or set up to be the "perfect" holiday home, so the furniture is old, the beds rather small and uncomfortable, some of the the rooms upstairs are massive with high ceilings so you can feel a bit lost in a bed, the main bathroom is not that great (shower over the bath). The main living accommodation and 3 bedrooms are on the"main floor", with an additional bedroom and bathroom downstairs which does get very dark and rather dank. There is no really convenient area to sit outside and eat - best is in the shade of a massive tree in the courtyard but from the kitchen its through two rooms, out the front door, down a flight of stairs. The swimming pool is quite close to the house but not 'right outside the front door'. If you find the purpose-built holiday villas of the Algarve etc lack character, if you would rather have some history to a house than shear functionality then you will love this property. If you want a really easy holiday where you take a couple paces out of the house to dive in the pool, then perhaps look elsewhere.

This house is fantastic!

I stayed there with my family last August and loved it. The house is fantastic and surrounded by an enchanting scenario and it was perfect for the kids! I highly recommend it and advise anyone intending to visit the North of Portugal to stay there, it´s better than it looks in the photos!

The house is located in the Minho region, in the North of Portugal.

It is situated between the city of Braga (one of the largest cities in Portugal, filed with magnificient places to visit that reflect Portuguese history and with the most hip restaurants, stores and several other atractions) and Gerês which is one of the most beautiful places to visit and stay in Portugal.
