I stayed in this house with my grown kids, and friends. Family dinners are comfortable. Great indoor space and outdoor deck to accommodate all the chaos. The kitchen is great to play in and well stocked with gadgets. It's nice that some of the basics (spices etc) are on hand so you don't have to bring everything with you. The location is nice and quiet- a nice walk through the woods to the lake. The dogs loved it!!
Stayed here over Thanksgiving and look forward to our next stay in the spring/summer. Our family slept 13 here one of the nights over our Thanksgiving stay and it accommodates 8 adults comfortably. Located next to several trails, we definitely enjoyed our time with our dogs and kids away from the city. Great lanais in the front, back and off the master bedroom spent many morning outside with a cup of coffee watching the turkeys trot through the yard. The living room is equipped with a wood burning stove. The kitchen is loaded and equipped and easy to move around in if you have more than one cook on the family. We'll definitely stay here again. The only thing that may be difficult for elderly and disabled is the house split level design and bathroom access. Our aunty managed it alright. It's a quiet neighborhood and felt good to be off the grid (no cell service but landline worked great).
I have stayed at this cabin three or four times now and was pleased with my stay each time. It's a hidden get away in the woods, no cell service but a landline you can have calls forwarded too if needed. The home has front and back lanais nice for a morning cup of tea or evening cigar. There's even a private lanai off the upstairs master bedroom and bath. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing large family dinners (room to move around so aunties and mamas can all do their prep). There is also a cozy wood burning fire place in the living room. Another perk is it's dog friendly and there are great trails right in the neighborhood. When we stayed here for Thanksgiving 13 of us snuggled in at least one of our four nights, it definitely sleeps 8 adults comfortably. The only thing that. An be tough with this spot is it's a split level cabin and the bathrooms are up or down stairs, this can be difficult for people with walkers and challenging for persons with wheelchairs, my aunties managed thank God for the handrails! I look forward to our family's next holiday at Oak Hollow in Arnold, and to seeing turkeys trotting through the yard.
I rented Oak Hollow last June for a 4 day girls vacation. There were five of us and all of us had a great time. The house was clean and there were comfortable beds for everyone. The kitchen was spacious and fully equipped with everything you needed for cooking and entertaining. The cabin was decorated in a very cute country style. The living room furniture was nice and comfortable. Everything in the house worked perfectly. We all had a very relaxing time socializing, drinking wine and cooking. I would definitely rent Oak Hollow again!
Our family really had a great time in this house. It has a great layout, there was plenty of room for my children and we were able to bring our dog. The kitchen was large and well equipped with basically everything we needed, and there were tons of games.
Very quaint Americana decor which was okay with me. All rooms have good tv and decent furniture. After reading the only other review I was hesitant to rent this as home, but we are so glad we did. If you are looking for a brand new and upscale everything(furniture, kitchen appliances) then you will need to realize that that is a different price range. This house was clean, comfy, and completely great for kids and dogs.
This house is an excellent value for the price!
The house is old and so is everything inside: appliances, sofas, beds, pots and pans, etc.. the garage is used as storage so guests can not use it. The front porch and rear deck were full of leaves and branches that i had to clean myself. Family Room with the foosball, that was actually stored in the garage, did not have working gas fire place so it was too cold. The gas bbq grill was so full of mold it was toxic to even be next to. I stayed 2 nights of the 4 i paid for.
