Peaceful setting

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 3 weeks in this peaceful, beautiful setting celebrating 50 years of marriage. We felt so blessed by the hospitality prepared for us in this house that became our home for 3 weeks. What you see in the description of this house is accurate and complete. You will find your stay here better than planned as we did.

Wonderful, can' t wait to return!

  • 5 of 5

Totally enjoyed the property, plenty of room for the five is to go to different areas in the house if we wanted some quiet time. Grounds are beautiful ,well maintained. My parents and I love flowers so it was nice to admire the landscape each day. Enjoyed watching and listening to the carriages travel down the road. We would love to return again and will definitely tell others about it.

Thank you Mr & Mrs Dienner for a lovely home!

A lovely home in a lovely setting with one major drawback.

  • 3 of 5

I really wanted to give this home 5 stars. The house is situated on a quiet road with farms across the street. The setting is peaceful. The yard is large with a great play area for the kids. While a little dated, the interior of the house was perfect for our size group (6 people) and everyone had plenty of space. The furniture was comfortable and well placed for conversation. The air hockey/pool table was a great diversion for the kids. There was a plate of delicious chocolate chip cookies on the counter when we arrived. All care had been given to make our stay enjoyable. It's obvious that the owners are meticulous in both the upkeep and cleanliness of this home.

Which is why I cannot understand why the mold situation in the basement, specifically the back bedroom in the basement, has not been dealt with. The mold smell (not just dampness) in the basement bedroom was extremely strong (especially in the wall under the deck). My husband and I have dealt with mold remediation in our own home and we are very familiar with both the presence of and effects of mold. By the end of our 5 days there, I had a severe sinus infection. I stayed in the other basement bedroom on the last night, bunking up with my children.

If this was just a cosmetic issue, I would never mention it. I hate to leave a 3 star review because, as I said, obvious care has gone into the house, the grounds and the hospitality shown by the owners. However, the health of those staying in the home should be of utmost importance, as well as their comfort.

If a group or couple chooses to stay in this house and is only using the upper floor of the house, they would love it! If the group is a large party, anyone has allergies, or there will be children staying, I would not recommend this house (as much as I would love to!) due to the apparent presence of mold.

5207Beautiful Home in Amish Country

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 enjoyed a long weekend at this wonderful house the beginning of May. It was our second year and we like the proximity to the Amish area. The house has everything you need and is absolutely spotless. There was more than enough room to relax and enjoy family time. Our only regret is that the weather is never such that we can enjoy the beautiful yard but we did enjoy the bird nests and babies. The chocolate chip cookies greeting us on arrival were delicious and a delightful treat. We are already looking forward to next year. Helene

Really nice spacious property, great large open plan living area.

  • 4 of 5

Just returned from a week here and had a great time. The house worked really well for us as a family. I particularly liked the large open plan upstairs, because we stay in in the evening cooking and reading together, it's important that this area is very comfortable. The multiple comfy chairs and sofas, worked really well for us. As adult siblings it was nice to have a bedroom each, with sufficient bathrooms. My brother and myself really had fun on the air hockey table. The house is set in large well tendered gardens and was nice and quiet. We walk every morning and enjoyed walking out from the house, the roads quiet enough to do this safely. The kitchen was well equipt and well placed, to be the hub of the house. The owners were very attentive, when we had an issue with a bedrooms lights not working, the owner came around immediately to rectify.

For me there was only 2 down sides to this home and both were regarding the 2 downstairs/basement bedrooms. One is that one room was very dark, dismal and cool. The other room, which is delightfully bright and sunny, always smelt of damp, although it did not feel damp. We did also struggle with the temperatures in the upstairs bedrooms, both occupants said they were cool at night and we just couldn't seen to get this right, without the living area being to warm. That said, we had a great time in the house and I would still recommend and return. The location worked well for driving out to explore the area.

AQS quilt show weekend

  • 5 of 5

This is not my first time staying here and it won't be the last. I loved loved loved it!!! There were ten, yes TEN of us and there was plenty of room for us to sleep, talk, sew and do more sewing. The layout is great and the customer service is even better. The weather was even nice enough for us to grill.

We will be back.
