If you're looking for a quiet house directly on the waters edge to enjoy the beauty Squam Lake offers, this is the house. There are two bedrooms up stairs. The master has a queen, the guest has a twin bed. Both bedrooms have skylights that fill the rooms with natural sunlight. The main floor offers an open layout with sliding glass doors that lead to the sun porch that sits on the waters edge and offers southwestern views of the lake. There is a large slate patio perfect for grilling and outdoor relaxation. This is a well kept cottage on the waters edge (newer bathroom & W/D) located at the end of a private dead end road. We have Cable TV, wireless internet, newer/nicer cookware, and a gas Weber Gill. Along with a private dock which comes with two kayaks for your enjoyment. Please note, we do not allow Children or Pets, sorry.
Children: Our house is part of a small association and rules do not allow us to rent to people with children. This does however allow us to keep a quiet, peaceful location.
Please feel free to email questions with questions. Thank you.
Little Squam vs Big Squam: Please note we are located on LIttle Squam not Big Squam. Some people are confused about the lakes, if they are the same, different etc. The lakes are connected so you can go from one lake to the other. Just want to clarify as some people don't realize this and think that Little Squam might not be part of Squam Lake...it is.
Love this spot on Little Squam Lake. It was our first visit and hopefully there will be many more.
Chad was great to deal with - quick to respond and very helpful. The house is very clean and comfortable with plenty of storage space. We arrived on an unseasonably chilly afternoon so really appreciated the wood-burning stove. It wasn't long before the sun came out again and we were able to go swimming in the lake one afternoon. We also really enjoyed taking the Canadian canoe out a couple of times. On one afternoon, we were thrilled to spot a turtle swimming under the dock. Our favourite thing, though, was to just sit and watch the sun go down from the patio or sun porch.
When we could steal ourselves away from the lake, we found one or two good walking trails nearby. It was easy to stock up on supplies at the little store in Holderness or Hannafords, a 10 minute drive away. There is also a little mountain zoo in Holderness which is worth a visit but wear stout shoes for the walk up to the summit and an amazing view.
All in all, a great place and highly recommended.
Our stay at this lovely cottage on Little Squam Lake was so terrific. The weather was perfect! This vacation at this lovely spot was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversay, and we highly recommend this cottage. The owners were great to deal with. We did a lot of kayaking, and viewed loons on the lake. Twice, a mother and her four chicks swam right by the cottage. A birds-eye view. We will be back!

We recently rented this house on Squam. Location is great...convenient to a lot of area attractions. Just step right down the rocks into the beautiful lake. The house is clean, well-equipped and if you want, there is a large TV and wireless internet. Even just sitting out on the beautiful patio and enjoying the view is relaxing. The owner Chad was great to deal with...very responsive and nice. We would recommend this rental!
