Breckenridge Condo Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 8)

What enchanted us about this condo was its peaceful wooded setting by the Blue River. It is a second-floor corner unit, quiet and private, close enough to the ground to hear the river and high enough to have a spectacular view of the snow on the pine trees.

In the winter, sit in front of the fireplace and watch the snow falling on the pines outside your window after a day of breath-taking skiing. In the summer, sip a glass of wine on the balcony off the living room as you listen to the rushing sounds of the Blue River nearby and relax after a day of playing in beautiful Colorado. Or just curl up with a book or a movie in the bright and sunny living room.

This cheerful and spacious 1,600 sq. ft. unit has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths and is just 150 yards from the Quicksilver chairlift at Peak Nine base, a five-minute walk from Main Street and the heart of Breckenridge, and is surrounded by miles of skiing, hiking and biking trails.

Why the Owner Chose Powderhorn: We picked Breckenridge and this particular property for a number of reasons. We live in Boulder, Colorado, so Breckenridge is conveniently located--we can be there in less than two hours. We were there in the summer of 1996 and stayed at a place near the Blue River. It was a typical Colorado day--the sun was shining, the sky was blue, it was hot but without the humidity that plagues so many other states--and we thought: Wouldn't it be nice to have a place here. The rest is history!

Our condo at Powderhorn is right next to the Blue River, so in the summer we can leave the doors of our deck off the master bedroom open and go to sleep to the sound of the river gurgling beneath us.

Why the Owner Chose Powderhorn (continued): Powderhorn is also adjacent to the Peak 9 Quicksilver lift, so an easy ski-in ski-out for DeWitt. Sandra, who does not ski, likes the fact that in less than 5 minutes on foot she can be in town. Of the various ski towns within two hours of Denver, Breckenridge is by far the largest and the one with the richest history. So after a hard day of skiing or biking we can enjoy some truly outstanding restaurants.

The Unique Benefits at this Condominium: In the winter, skiing, of course, is the primary activity. In the summer we enjoy biking and hiking. There are miles of trails in all directions. The ambitious biker can even bike to Vail!

And the condo is large enough that it feels like a real home. It is 1600 sq. ft. with a huge living/dining area, a deck that can comfortably seat 4, and a large kitchen for those who love to cook. City Market, which is affiliated with Kroger and King Soopers, is close by and a great resource for good groceries. And there are some great restaurants that we would be happy to recommend. Oh, and don't forget to ask us about the best bran muffin . . . !

About Sandra

We are retired and love to travel. When we travel we almost always stay at Bed and Breakfasts because we enjoy the personal touches that each place offers to the cold anonymity of most hotel rooms. That is why we have decorated our condo in warm and vibrant Mediterranean colours and have hung family and travel photos on our walls.

Sandra purchased this condo in 1996

Guestbook comments from the owner

Overall, we felt the location was terrific and the condo met all of our needs. There were extra amenities like a hair dryer, coffee pot and coffee, spices, and plenty of cooking utensils. Great times!

Comfortable and convenient condo

  • 5 of 5

The condo is roomy and comfortable, with a great layout for family. The kitchen, dining, and living room, and a half bath are at one end, with two bedrooms connected by a Jack and Jill bath, then the master bedroom and bath and at the other end. The full-size washer and dryer are great amenities. The views from the condo of the river and woods are terrific, as well as some mountain view. The location is terrific, very close to Main Street and the lake, and for ski season, great proximity to the slopes.

We stayed in this condo during pre-ski season, when Breckenridge was quiet. However, most shops and restaurants were open, and we had beautiful weather for walking, hiking, and bike riding. Right behind the condo is a stream, with multiple paths and bridges. Our 4- and 6-year old grandchildren loved hiking with us in this lovely area.

Nicely appointed, plenty of space

  • 5 of 5

My family of four had a very enjoyable time in Breck and thanks to this condo. Location is nice being near the river and a short walk into town. The three bedrooms allow plenty of privacy and the 2.5 bath makes this flow more like a house than a standard condo. Kitchen has plenty of silverware and plates. We spent our week doing plenty of hiking, rafting, and exploring the town. We look forward to returning.

Quiet, relaxing mountain condo

  • 5 of 5

We loved the condo at Powderhorn! It is in a very quiet part of Breckenridge, but just a short walk to town. The balcony and windows all have a view of huge pine trees, mountain tops and the Blue River running below. The sound of the river put us to sleep every night! The condo had everything we needed for a relaxing mountain vacation. We spent mornings on the balcony drinking coffee and enjoying the cool, refreshing air and the sound of the river. Walks into town were frequent as well as walks along the river. To us, Powderhorn is the best location in Breck!

Won't stay anywhere else

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay here and it was perfect as usual. You can consider it a bike in out condo because there are several trails that start near by. Plus a hiking trail right out the back. We never touched our car the entire time because you are so close to everything yet far enough away for it to be peaceful.

Great visit!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Sandra's condo the end of June. It was better than we expected! Great location, loved the river access and we had more than enough room for our family of four. We loved listening to the river at night and walking the trails next to it during the day. Sandra made the whole rental process a breeze. We would definitely stay here again!

POWDERHORN ON THE BLUE RIVER: Powderhorn sits just above the Blue River where it flows into Maggie Pond. It is perfectly situated for easy access to Peak 9, the heart of the Breckenridge ski area, the ski school, skier necessities and services, a web of picturesque foot paths along the river, and the town's Main Street shops and restaurants. In the winter, Peak 9 not only features many acres of terrain for Beginner, Intermediate and Expert skiers, but also offers quick and easy access to both Peak 8 and Peak 10. Peak 9 is the core of the ski area; the location could truly not be better.

The trailhead for the Forest Service Burro trail is also nearby, providing opportunities for snow shoeing, hiking and mountain biking, depending on the season.

Other Activities: shopping, kayaking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, spa, racquetball, basketball, sleigh rides, ice skating
