Overview

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 8)

This inviting lakefront home is perfect for families. The large, private, fenced in yard keeps toddlers from going to the lake. The porch swing on the deck is a great place to watch awesome sunsets.

The house has spacious rooms and comfortable furniture. The great room has a fireplace and built in bookshelves that are full of books, videos, DVD’s and games. Cable TV and wireless internet are available too. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, utensils and small appliances, but no dishwasher. The table in the dining area off the great room seats 8. Sunny breakfasts are delightful on the cozy, knotty pine porch.

The upstairs has 3 bedrooms with views of the lake; one has 2 antique twins; another has a queen and 2 twins. The third is a small bedroom with 1 twin bed. The downstairs bedroom has a double bed and is near the bathroom. The Bunkhouse has been remodeled and is now available as extra sleeping space. It has it’s own powder room and a set of bunk beds, but is not winterized.

The new stairs to the lake are lit with solar lamps. Our 100 feet of waterfront includes a deck, a 50 ft long L shaped dock, and a swimming beach. You can use the canoe and swim to the raft (note - raft available between Memorial Day and Labor Day). The lake is about 5 ft. deep at the raft. Seneca Lake has excellent fishing and boating, with marina’s nearby to rent all types of boats. Cookout on the gas grill and roast marshmallows on the firepit. There is parking for 3 cars.

If you've been here as a guest of our renter, please mention it to us if you want to rent it yourself.

About Chris Carson

Chuck spent every summer on Seneca Lake as a child and we have emotional ties to this property. Our family loves to gather here, play in the water, and make memories. We enjoy the peace and beauty of the lake and surrounding vineyards. We like to get to know our renter's who we share our house with.

Wonderful cozy cottage

  • 5 of 5

We spent two wonderfully relaxing weeks at the cottage. From the moment we walked in it was home. Clean, cozy and everything you need is provided. The views from the porch and the sunsets were pure relaxation. Great lawn and plenty of places for people to gather.Loved the large picnic table inside for family dinners and game nights. We were blessed with rain for only a couple of hours out of the whole two weeks. The water was warm, although there were weeds( not a fault of the owners, just a fact). The only thing that could be difficult for some families with older members are the many steps down to the water. Not a problem for us personally, but an elderly grandma could not manage the stairs. Nice area in the water close to shore that was weed free for little ones to play. We explored Geneva, Glens Falls, Canandaigua, Waterloo, Montezuma. wineries and beer trails on three lakes. Great restaurants to be found! We especially enjoyed the cheese tasting at the Muranda Cheese Company and buying fresh fruit, veggies and bread from the Mennonite food stand nearby. You will not be disappointed by the cottage or the area! Wish I was back there now! Chris and Chuck were great to work with! Thanks for the memories!

Thanksgiving get away

  • 5 of 5

Great house with plenty of room and amenities. Lots of books and games to occupy the time stuck indoors. Enough to do to where we only used the TV once. Great "farm" style table to accommodate everyone. Would recommend this rental to all my friends and family and would love to visit again. Awesome place Mr. and Mrs. Carson. Thanks again.

Len and Mary

Wonderful home, wonderful owners! So very comfortable. An additional bath in the main house would be an asset! We would certainly recommend your property. Your neighbors were most pleasant, a nice plus!

Thank you for a home-like stay for our son's graduation from Hobart! We actually stayed at your home in May of 2010, but couldn't put that into the calendar. Think we were the second renters! We would not hesitate to visit again as we so enjoyed the beautiful views and amenities you so graciously provided! Thank you!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review. We do remember your visit. That was quite awhile ago! You wouldn't believe all the improvements we have made since. Regarding having an extra bathroom in the main house... we considered adding one when we did the renovations, but decided instead to use the space upstairs for a small child's bedroom. The extra 1/2 bath in the Bunk House is available from April through early Nov. Regarding being "pet friendly". We were for a few years, but no longer offer that for our renters. Thanks again for the positive review. Please come visit us again. Chuck and Chris.

Other attractions are the Performing Arts Center in Canandaigua, the National Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, and the Waterloo Outlet Mall.
