Grand Canyon Escape: It's conveniently located 30 minutes from the Grand Canyon South Rim Entrance and 30 minutes from Williams, AZ home of the Grand Canyon Railroad/Polar Express and Bearizona. We have twin porches to enjoy your morning and evenings and RV hookups with concrete pad that is perfect for your telescope and stargazing away from the cabin. This is a newer 3 bedroom/2 bath cabin on 3 acres. Enjoy local attractions or relax in seclusion from the hustle and bustle of the city. Night skies are incredible for stargazing, view the mountains or sunrise/sunset from the porches. Inside enjoy the Great Room with gas fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and a bath downstairs and a master suite/loft upstairs with separate shower and tub with view of the canyon's rim.
Home had very beautiful views of sunsets, sunrises and the starry sky. Very clean home with all the kitchen tools we needed to cook meals. Stocked with towels, extra sheets and and games. Check-in instructions are clear. Follow the owners advice and shop for groceries in Williams. This was our favorite home in all our travels. We were travelling with 3 teenage boys and our 10 year old girl. We will choose this house again if we ever get a chance to visit the South Rim again.
We stayed here for two nights in May and found it very convenient. I was worried it might seem to far from the Canyon at 30 minutes away, but found we actually enjoyed being further away from all the action - it was a very peaceful, pretty drive back each afternoon and we enjoyed sitting on the porch admiring the view and watching the sunset. Definitely recommend a GPS for help with finding the house in the dark. The house had plenty of space for our party of six and the kids enjoyed having a yard to get out in. I agree there are no convenient stores nearby, but we picked up what we needed on the way back to the house each day and it was not really an issue. The small grocery store near the Canyon was fairly reasonable price-wise. The welcome basket was very nice to have and the house was in great condition, very clean. We will certainly return if we happen to be in the area again.
We stayed there as a family of six for three nights. The property was found as advertised. Internet is not high speed, but since we did not use it for business it worked just fine for our purposes. House was clean and all necessary utensils were available. With only 30 minutes to drive to the Grand Canyon it was a great get away and we may rent it again when we come to the area. The desert definitely has its own allure and the remoteness of the property contributed to being able to get away from the hustle of tourists at the canyon . Tamara was readily available to answer questions during the reservation phase and stay, which is very much appreciated. Thanks for having us.
After a long journey through The Southwest I have to admit I'm really getting tired of looking at desert landscapes. When I saw our vacation house, I knew it was in a desert, but I still sighed a bit. That stopped when I went in. The house is welcoming and cozy. The fireplace was put to use on cool spring nights when we were surprised how cold the desert can really be. This is an open range and cattle roamed nearby bringing their frisky calves along for a visit. The location seemed so far from the South Rim, but experience showed me that it was probably one of the closest, if not THE closest house to the Canyon. The beds are showing signs of wear and squeak a bit, but overall, this place was very nice, comfortable, and far exceeded my expectations of yet another view of the desert. I'd use this place again, and again, and again.
The house is in the middle of a field only about 20 minutes south of the South entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park. It's location is perfect. The fireplace is great and the kitchen definitely suited our needs. The master bathroom upstairs was sprawling and taking a bath in there after a 5 miles hike to Cedar Ridge and back was just what I needed.
I would have to say that I only have two complaints. The first (and the biggest one for me) is that the bed that is located in the upstairs bedroom is horribly uncomfortable (every other bed was lovely) but that mattress was like sleeping on an air mattress- no support at all. It was probably the worst sleep I have ever had. The second complaint (and much less important to me than the most uncomfortable mattress ever) would have to be the list of chores required before leaving or there would be a penalty fee for each one left undone. Just be prepared for those. They are not the most unreasonable of chores.
Overall I would recommend this cottage to visitors. Great price, amazing location and a very lovely environment to arrive to with an arrival basket of goodies set up for us. Thank you again.
This house is very well located to visit Grand Canyon National Park! The setting is lovely, including cows in the yard and excellent stargazing. The hot water in the shower was intermittent and the water pressure varied (and the water pump itself is rather loud), but I'm not from this part of the country and I guess that was to be expected. The master bedroom mattress was very soft. So soft that we slept on the fold out futon instead. The kitchen was well equipped but could use a new frying pan or two. Overall, we were happy and comfortable.
The property is located 25 miles North of WIlliams, AZ and 30 miles of the South Rim entrance to Grand Canyon National Park one block of Hwy 64.
