Come visit our charming, welcoming home. We have two bedrooms downstairs, two more upstairs, and a large roomy loft with a trundle bed and spacious sitting area. The home sleeps 12 comfortably in beds. The family room is large and homey with an enormous fireplace and huge windows to enjoy the woodsy creek view. The kitchen is well equipped and opens to the dining area, which in turn opens to the family room...GREAT FOR ENTERTAINING! Flat driveway with garage. Skiers and boarders need only walk out to the street to be picked up and brought to the world renowned North Star Ski Resort. Don't ski or snowboard, no worries, the Village at Northstar has ice skating, great restaurants, and shopping for that retail therapy we all need.
Renters are invited to enjoy the clubhouse, which features Health Spa, swimming pools, hot tubs, exercise center and game room.
The charming town of Truckee is just a 10 minute drive, or venture 15 minutes in the opposite direction to see Beautiful Lake Tahoe, and enjoy gambling and shows at the casinos.
We look forward to meeting you when you come to stay and experience the comforts of traditional Tahoe living.
I am a mom with 3 children. I live in the Bay Area, but my close friend lives in Truckee and helps me to keep our Tahoe getaway maintained.
The Owner purchased this house in 2006
My family and I have always loved Lake Tahoe. We bought this home a few years back because we have found that our best memories are here in Northstar.
I love the tranquility of our home, while my kids are occupied day and night. They are always having fun whether it is winter sports or summer play...we cannot get enough!
This is a wonderful, cozy house, great for our two families. Very short shuttle ride to Northstar village. Justin was very responsive and flexible. He made sure the house was clean when we needed to arrive a day earlier than our reservation (fortunately the house was free) to beat the bad weather. I would stay here again for sure.
This a very warm and welcoming home full of wood everywhere. Large dining table, complete kitchen, wonderful gas fireplace, comfortable living room. Our family had a wonderful time and thank the owners for making their beautiful and comfortable home available. The house manager, Justin, was most serviceable. Internet was slow and he came out to fix it.
We had a lovely stay at this Northstar rental and would certainly rent it again. The location is great - the view to the rear is beautiful and private, and Beaver Pond is nice and close-in to the village, unlike other places we've stayed (way out there on Basque, etc.). The house was very clean and totally ready for us. We were a family of 4, but had two dinners with 10 of us, and there was more than enough room for us all to be comfortable for long evenings of chatter, dinner and games. Owner/rep was very responsive with answers to of-the-moment queries. Two minor problems, one mentioned by a previous reviewer: First, the wifi to this house is indeed spotty. It was fine for listening to music, but we could never stream a movie. Second, it is obviously impossible to anticipate every renter's needs in the kitchen, and keeping a rental kitchen reliably stocked with the most basic basics must be a thankless task. However, this kitchen was missing measuring cups, measuring spoons and any sort of rubber spatula. Sometimes, you just want to make a batch of cookies! I went out and bought (and left at the rental) measuring cups, and did without the rest. Perhaps reviewing a last-minute checklist of "the most basic basics" would be a good practice going forward, before each new renter comes in? Anyway, it was a great stay for us and we look forward to next time.
We stayed 5 nights at this perfect Northstar home between Christmas and New Years. First we were pleased that the owner was agreeable to a 5 night stay during this holiday week. We left on New Year's Eve, so he was able to rent it out to another party. Justin was very easy to deal with. After years of little snow at Christmas time, we had lots and lots of snow for the kids to enjoy. They tried skiing for the first time, did ice skating and sledding. The home is attractively furnished and is very well kept up. There are two bedrooms on the main floor - one with a queen bed and the other with a king. The bathroom is off the hallway, so both rooms use this bath. There is also a washer and dryer on this level. The living room has a big rock fireplace with a heating element in it. We were always toasty warm. The kitchen is well supplied. My only suggestion is that the owners buy new frying pans. The ones they have are in bad shape. The upper level has a lovely master bedroom suite with a king bed and a sitting area, private bath. The other bedroom has two queen beds. However, this bedroom only has a toilet and a sink, no shower. On the upper level there is also a large loft area with a sofa, game table, and a trundle bed. The home is on the shuttle service, which we used a couple of times. The crowds during this week were huge. We did not go out to eat. The Rite Aid at Kings Beach carries lots of grocery items. You can avoid the endless lines at Safeway by going here.
Couldn't have been much more perfect. Aside from spotty wifi internet (probably because of the the owner's decision to use AT&T as their internet provider), we couldn't have asked for more from this house. Plenty of space for 11, Super easy access to the slopes (via the free Northstar shuttle that picks up and drops off at the end of the driveway), what else could you ask for? A responsive property manager? Check - that's Justin who made sure everything was ready prior to our arrival! We will definitely consider this house for future stays!
We were very happy with our stay at this warm, family home. The kitchen was well-stocked with every utensil, cooking vessel that we needed. The master bedroom's mattress was wonderfully comfortable, and all of my family members were happily-satisfied as well. The living room was so inviting; the fireplace was beyond awesome. We were able to seat 10 people at the dining table which was so helpful. The Northstar shuttle came by the house all day long so transit to the hill was never an issue. There is not one negative thing that I can say about our great experience and vacation at "Beavertail Lodge." We enjoyed the home for 8 nights, and were so delighted to have found it, and would love to return. We really felt as though the owner invited us to come in, make ourselves comfortable, and fully enjoy everything about the home. Very appreciative.
