Carmel-by-the-Sea is a world class destination with a unique atmosphere without the pressures of everyday life. Among the nearby golf courses are Pebble Beach and Spanish Bay. The Cottage provides an atmosphere where you can read with a glass of wine, or socialize on the patio with the sound of the waves in the background. It has amenities that will make you feel like you’re at home with high speed internet, cable TV, a collection of DVD's, and a diverse selection of books. The kitchen is fully equipped if you choose to eat at home or you have a selection of fabulous eatery's within walking distance. A washer and dryer are located downstairs to take care of laundry after a day of hiking at Point Lobos or time at the spectacular Carmel beach. The cottage is only two blocks from Ocean Avenue providing shopping and over 100 art galleries. It is five blocks and a 10 minute walk to the beach with a great view of the Pebble Beach Golf Course and 1/2 mile to the gate of famous 17 Mile Drive.
Carmel Beach: Take a walk to the beach and sit on the white sand with a loved one and a bottle of wine to watch the beautiful Carmel sunsets. You may also have campfires on the beach toward the south end. There is a great walkway along the bluff over looking the beach for early morning walks or runs. Whimsical and creative sand creations attract competitors and spectators on Carmel’s white sand beach. Held in September.
Other Carmel attractions.: The Pro Am golf tournament in February and the Concours De Ellegance in August attract thousands. The Sunset Cultural Center, the Cultural Heart of Carmel by-the-Sea, offers a wide range of world-class performances ranging from the classical, dance, Broadway, rock, bluegrass and jazz to magic. The Bach Music Festival, held in July, is world renowned.
Restaurants: Carmel restaurants and bars—despite boasting among them some of the world’s landmark establishments—remain pleasantly undefined. The town’s charming eateries feature a full range of international, regional and local cuisines, all benefiting from their proximity to the bounties provided by the Monterrey Bay and Salinas Valley. Taken together, Carmel restaurants have a hallmark blend of Old World elegance and modern charm, all with an artistic flair. Take an early morning walk two blocks to the Carmel Coffee Company for fresh scones, rolls and a hot cup of coffee.
We stayed here for a romantic getaway. Very cute and cozy cottage in a fantastic location in Carmel. This place is a few blocks from the beach and a couple blocks from the heart of downtown Carmel. It does not get any better than this place for a couple in Carmel; place had tons and tons of charm, including a beautiful stepping stone pathway to the front door. Would say this place is perfect size for a couple.
My wife and I have tried several housing options when we've visited Carmel (our #1 vacation spot), and this was by far our favorite. The location was great, just two blocks from our favorite galleries (Classic and Jones & Terwilliger), two blocks from our favorite restaurant (Dametra Cafe), and about seven blocks from the beach. It's a very convenient drive to the Monterrey Aquarium, Big Sur, 17 Mile Drive at Pebble Beach, Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, and the beautiful shoreline of Pacific Grove. It has one space for off-street parking, which is a major plus in Carmel since lots are few and most on-street parking is limited to two hours. The cottage isn't fancy but is very clean and comfortable. It's perfect for one couple.
Our only contact with the owners, George and Patty, was by email and by phone, but they were very nice and resolved a small plumbing issue very quickly.
We hope to be able to return here many times in the future.
Carmel is an amazing little town, and this house is the perfect place to stay! Location is phenomenal - you can walk to the shops, restaurants, bars, beach in minutes. This place is right in the middle of it all! The house was clean and perfectly prepped for our arrival. Everything about this rental was perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would love to stay here again! You simply can't go wrong renting this place!
This is a lovely home perfectly placed for visiting all the wonderful attractions around this part of the coast. It's also only a short walk to the local shops and beautiful beach and is very peaceful with little passing traffic.
The house itself is well equipped with everything required for your stay.
It's very clean and comfortable for two and we would highly recommend it.
We hope to return in the near future.
The stay here was wonderful. Carmel is like Disneyland for adults and this house is in the middle of it all. The beach is a beautiful short walk away. Anything that you want to do is just a walk away. Like everything in Carmel, the house is charming and offers privacy, quiet relaxation, and an experience like no other. I have stayed here two times and plan on continuing my tradition. Beautiful place to start the holidays!
This wonderful coastal cottage was more than we expected! What a wonderful place to stay and relax. From the moment we walked in the door we knew we had picked the right place. Walking distance to the many shops in downtown Carmel and a short walk to the beach. The home is efficiently set up and offers the comforts of home. We will be back and will be telling our family and friends about this quaint & peacful cottage.
