My family and I had a great time at the cottage in the Rookery. The owner, Carol, was very helpful. The cottage was decorated beautifully, clean, and very welcoming. We had everything that we needed to be comfortable. I would recommend this cottage to my friends and family for a nice, peaceful vacation. It is a family oriented place so we met many new friends. Fort Morgan is actually very beautiful, but we went into Orange Beach to eat at some of the restaurants, The Cobra and Lamberts. I would recommend both for good food and atmosphere. We visited the place down the street that has the food vendors, listened to the band, and enjoyed the games. We also shopped in the souvenir shop. Thank you for making our stay memorable.
This place had everything. It was very clean and felt like home the neighbors were nice, the pool was great, distance to the beach was so easy. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Gulf Shores and relax in peace. If we ever travel that way again this is where we will stay.
Carol has an amazing beach home! She always responds to your emails within a few hours. Her home is close and within walking distance to the ocean. We packed sandwiches and walked to the beach everyday. Although we didn't go to the pool or hot tub, they are very nice and clean. The Rookery is quiet and peaceful and I would recommend her home to anyone. This was by far my favorite vacation. Gulf Shores is absolutely beautiful!
Our stay at the cottage was fantastic. My wife was amazed at how clean and how any thing that you would want or need was there. Carol did a fantastic job. The neighbors were very friendly and I enjoyed sitting around fire pit listening to them sing and play.
This place is amazing. By far one of the nicest places we have stayed. Carol did an amazing job describing the Rookery. We had a wonderful vacation and were so impressed with all the kitchen amenities. I don't think there was anything she didn't have. The location was perfect for out group. A nice walk to the beach or Sassy Bass or a quick drive depending on what you would want to do. All of the people we met at the restaurants/bars were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family who would like a very nice and relaxing vacation. I think the highlight was the alligator that lived in the pond of water across the street.
We were very impressed with the cottage at The Rookery. It was everything that Carol described!! Our ONLY complaint is that we didn't stay long enough!! The beaches were beautiful, and the kids loved the pool. We grilled out every night. The screened porch was nice to sit and relax also. The deck box is completely stocked for everything you need for a day at the beach. If you're looking for a fishing charter, we used Capt. George Pfeiffer in Orange Beach (www.fishemeraldspirit.com) He was very reasonably priced, and very knowledgeable. I definitely give this place 5 starts. We will definitely be back!!
