Sea Pines House Rental Photos and Description

Private Home, 8 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 7 Baths (Sleeps 22-24)

More than 5,700 square feet of luxurious living space and abundant amenities, we know you will enjoy staying in our home by the sea. Our home offers a private 18 x 32 inground pool with built-in hot tub, Xbox 360 system with games, bumper pool table, wireless broadband Internet, 2 wet bars, gourmet kitchen, 2 widescreen TVs, Blu-Ray DVD with NetFlix Internet streaming, DVD movie library, membership at South Beach Racquet club, a double brick Savannah grill, and two outdoor shower stalls with changing areas. There is ample meal seating for large groups, with seating for 25 people (12 at dining room table, 9 around kitchen bar, 4 at morning room table) using the dining table and kitchen barstools. Our home is a true 2nd row home, 1 house from an uncrowded beach, approximately 90 seconds to walk from the rear gate to the beach.

Sea Pines offers numerous amenities such as golf, tennis, horseback riding, watersports, 15 miles of bike trails, day spa, forest preserve & ancient ruins.

Four seating/conversation areas: Three seating/conversation areas on the main floor provide ample space for large groups or family reunions to relax and catch up on each others lives. The Living Room and Sun Room were designed adjacent to one another and can easily be combined to provide seating for a large group to watch a movie on the wide screen TV with Blu-Ray DVD player (the DVD player is also NetFlix streaming compatible, which provides unlimited free instant video on demand for guests with a NetFlix account).

Gameroom, Pool, Beach....: The game room downstairs provides another wide screen TV, this time connected to an Xbox 360 system for the ultimate in video gaming. The game room also has a bumper pool table and wet bar to make your stay fun for kids of all ages. Directly off the game room is the patio that boasts a heated pool, hot tub, double Savannah brick grill (one side propane, one side charcoal), and outdoor seating for 16 guests. Leaving through the rear gate, guests can be on the beach in about 90 seconds, close enough that you’ll find guests constantly flowing back and forth between home, beach, & pool.

Gourmet Kitchen & Two Wet Bars: Many cooks can easily work together in the spacious, well equipped kitchen. Commercial grade appliances from Viking, Bosch, and KitchenAid, combined with cabinets well stocked with cooking equipment to support any cooks in your group. Double oven, double dishwashers, and a stove top grill in the kitchen are provided to handle large group meals. An oversized 48" sub-zero fridge in the kitchen handles your main food and beverages, a full-sized fridge in the laundry room handles any overflow for large groups, a counter size fridge in the lower level wet bar provides easy access to beverages from the pool area, and a wine fridge in the upstairs wet bar rounds out the refrigeration options.

Our home is also available as a 5 bedroom, 5 bath rental during off peak periods at a discounted rate. This works well for groups with uncertainty in how many people will be vacationing together. With the 5 bedroom option, guests upgrade to the full 8 bedrooms at the last minute to accommodate any unexpected guests.

Why Mike Rowen chose Hilton Head

We love Sea Pines. It's one of the top beach resorts in the USA. Our street and beach are among the most private in Sea Pines and the beach is only 90 seconds from the rear gate.

Wonderful! You can't go wrong!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough good things about this home. I will start with the owner Mike. He was attentive and very helpful with my pre-stay questions and also a few minor issues that happened during our stay. We had 17 people stay (one baby, which takes up more room than 3 people!) We spent most of our time in the LARGE kitchen. We loved watching activity in the kitchen from the many island seats. The kitchen was fully stocked with pans, etc. (Some rentals have some basic cooking supplies such as spices, foil, bags, etc but this rental is cleaned out between each rental so bring your own) The bedrooms and bathrooms were plentiful! Lots of different places to sit around and chat. The pool and hot tub are perfect. Lots of pool/beach toys are there, including beach chairs. I think one bonus was the garage for extra storage, bikes, fishing stuff, suitcases, etc. The beach is really 90 seconds away and it was never crowded! Excellent place to stay!

Beautiful home with a fantastic owner!

  • 4 of 5

We just returned from a week in this beautiful home. There were four families total, which included 10 kids, ages 3-12. This home was absolutely perfect for our group. The layout could not be better. This home is truly huge, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The pool is awesome and the beach access fantastic. The kitchen is enormous and allowed us to continue a tradition of cooking at home, rather than eating out, 4 out of the 7 nights. Having an oversized refrigerator, a wine fridge, a beer fridge and two dishwashers, made cooking for a crowd a breeze.

I hate to say anything negative, but I do have to admit that the house (especially the lower level) is beginning to look a bit worn. It's clearly been well-loved by MANY families. It's a great value for the price, however, and Mike (the owner) was fantastic. Working with him outweighed any negatives found in the home. He is incredibly responsive and willing to jump on any and all issues/requests. He even went above and beyond and ordered a beach cart and cooler for the home after we inquired about one. We had a wonderful vacation and are so appreciative of everything Mike did to make the week go smoothly.

Memories were made here!

  • 5 of 5

Our family has been coming to Hilton Head for over 30 years. This year we celebrated our 80th Birth Year with our 5 married children and their families. There were 24 of us and this property met all our needs. The house was a pleasant surprise and served our large group well. It was clean, nicely decorated, spacious, and had a well-equipped kitchen. It had an open floor plan and had spaces in the right places. We all were able to enjoy a sit-down dinner in the evenings and had plenty of seating around the sparkling pool and in the patio area. The two outdoor showers with dressing areas were very convenient and useful.

The walk to the beach was short and pleasant. The beach was clean and beautiful. At times, we felt it was our own private beach. We played beach volleyball, built sand castles, and enjoyed the waves with very few people to contend with. The location was a very easy bike ride to South Beach and Harbor Town.

The owner, Mike Rowens, was very cooperative at every turn. The patio grill was not operating and within 12 hours, he replaced it with a new one. We had asked for a ping-pong table and he agreed to make one available. This is an owner who cares about his property and the comfort of his guests. Every rental property needs constant attention to keep it operating properly. Mike tries hard to stay on top of things.

We had people flying in and leaving at different times so parking was important to us. The driveway and apron area truly accommodates 7/8 cars, leaving the garage free for the ping-pong table activity.

Mike, thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. We created memories here that will last a lifetime.

Large house, Great location, No attention to detail

  • 2 of 5

First I want to say we had a wonderful week spending time with family. The house was very large and easily accommodated our 4 families- 8 adults and 9 children. The location is excellent- let's tell the truth here- Sea Pines is the best. A 3 minute walk to the beach. A very short bike ride to south beach and a doable one to Harbor Town and possibly even Coligny. The pool and hot tub were a ton of fun- the kids enjoyed them immensely. Plenty of pool/beach toys. The kitchen was large, and the upstairs and downstairs family areas help spread the activities when needed. The regular sized refrigerator in the downstairs laundry room- and the washer and dryer- were great. The owner was great getting back to me with my questions before the trip. He also bought a brand new Ninja blender and had it shipped there in time for us to use. There were some issues that I am surprised were not mentioned in previous reviews that I think I need to mention because I would have wanted to know before I rented the house. As I said the house is very large- this makes voices carry and sounds echo- not the quietest or most relaxing environment. The wood floors are creaky- so basically if someone wakes up upstairs and starts walking around there is a good chance others will wake up soon- especially those downstairs. The property was not clean- period. The floors were very dirty. From the moment we got in we took our shoes off at the door and in not too long our feet/socks were black. This is not good especially if you have kids that are still in the crawling phase. There was a huge dead cockroach in a master closet discovered when it was first opened that the cleaning crew- who apparently were there until right before we arrived at the house ( I know this because we asked to check in a half hour early but it 'was not ready yet')- should have easily seen. Speaking of cockroaches- oh I'm sorry, I mean palmetto bugs- there were literally about one hundred of them in the garbage area- in and around the cans- disgusting. A master bedroom had red stains on the sheets; another bedroom's 'fitted' sheet was way too big. Speaking of stains- there were stains on many of the couch pillows and bedroom carpets. A bedroom on the bottom floor had a sliding door which accessed the pool area and the handle was broke and did not lock. Both outside grills were a mess. The charcoal one was unusable because it was so dirty and in disrepair. The gas one still had food on the grating. Sickness. I had to he

Owner's Response: We're sorry to hear the cleaning crew did not properly clean our home prior to your arrival. It sounds like they dropped the ball cleaning both the inside and outside, which is totally unacceptable to us. I discussed your experience with my property manager who tells me this cleaner did a poor job on several other properties recently, and they read them the riot act so this doesn't happen again. If it does, my property manager told me they will be replaced immediately. Please accept our sincere apologies.

Great property for a large group.

  • 5 of 5

Location, amenities and space for all. we had 19 persons, from 8 homes, staying together for the week. Plenty space for all.

Pool and hot tub were in need of cleaning when we arrived. owner and maintenance man were quick to respond to our needs. Hot tub never did get very warm; yet, we enjoyed the time nevertheless.

Short walk to the ocean added to the beauty of the location. Short bike ride to restaurants and light house.

Fun was had by all!

Was Perfect for Us

  • 5 of 5

Several couples stayed for a Super Bowl Weekend getaway. The house suited our needs perfectly and the owner was very gracious and helpful.

Had one small glitch when the main refrigerator malfunctioned as can happen anywhere but one call to Mike and a replacement was delivered immediately.

Next time headed to Hilton Head would definitely stay again!!!

Owner's Response: Thanks for being so understanding of the fridge dying Greg. I'm glad to hear it didn't impact your week too much. The loaner fridge has now been replaced by a new Sub-Zero so future guests (hopefully your group) will have a better fridge. If you decide to return in the future please remind me of the fridge problem and I'll give you a special discount for for being so gracious in dealing with the hassle.
