We love our Mountain Getaway. We live in the Portland area so it is a 45 minute drive to feel like we are away from the busy life in town. We enjoy Hiking, Skiing, Snowshoeing and Fishing in the Mt Hood Territory. Our cabin is a wonderful place, in a excellent location, to visit with family and friends. We are sure you will find it just as enjoyable and relaxing as we do.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 2008
We have always wanted to live on the River.
It is close to some of the best wilderness trails, tallest old growth trees and stunning views of the rivers and mountians.
We enjoy all Mt. Hood outdoor activities,
including Golfing about 10 mins. away in the small town of Welches.
Great restaurants and gift shops just up the road
Mountain Bike trails and great fishing holes --very close by--
Central location for all outdoor activities.
Or just sit back in the corona chairs and take in the best wild river --rapid views-- you dream about.
Sitting back, with a small fire by the river or sitting on the large cedar decks watching the river flow.
Big open great room so the whole family has together time.
It dosen't get any better than this !!
Four of us enjoyed two nights at the River House, a very comfortable home sitting right on the Sandy River. Good food nearby but we were very content to spend most of the time listening to the river and rain. Thank you.
We just returned home from our long weekend at the Sandy River Front cabin and I miss it so much! The house is wonderfully situated on a roaring river with lots of outdoor seating that takes advantage of the gorgeous setting. The sound of the river is soothing and we enjoyed sitting on a riverside bench reading books - super relaxing. It is also located close to hundreds of hiking trails. We loved going up to Ramona Falls and Mirror Lake and returning to roast s'mores in the fire pit along the river.
The house it extremely well designed, with large windows overlooking the view and large rooms and soaring ceilings. While it looks beautiful on the webpage, it was actually much nicer than we anticipated. It is really more of a house than a cabin. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked every night. The appliances were high quality and new. Everything about this place was top notch. Our family of 4, hope to return every year! if I could give it 6 stars, I would.
Great house in a very nice location. We had a very comfortable week. The kitchen and living room layout flow very nicely for family dinners and relaxing. The beds are all very comfortable . The view of the river and the outdoor fireplace were wonderful . Great spot!
Everything was perfect for our family vacation, from the helpful (and truthful) website to the final checkout process. Nothing about the house, location, or setting was over-stated! Loved it all and hope to return again. Thanks!
This was a great home for our family vacation. The back deck and yard overlooking the river are gorgeous and peaceful. The sound of the river lulls you to sleep at night. The home is well equipped and also conveniently situated for Mount Hood adventures. The owners were very nice to deal with. Overall great rental.
We just got back from our stay at the cabin. It was perfect for our family of 4 but could have easily slept more. We enjoyed building a fire down by the river and falling asleep to the sound of the river was divine!! I liked how private it was, we never saw any neighbors, it was quiet and very relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked, clean and organized. We enjoyed the bbq and had fabulous weather so we ate most meals outside on the deck. The inside of the cabin was very clean and the check in/check out process was very easy and my emails to the owners were answered very quickly. The value is really there for this cabin!! We drove to Portland, Washington and Hood River during our stay and felt the location was perfect for what we wanted to do. They have a lot of board games and a TV but we never had time to use any of them. It was great having a washer and dryer, I did do a load of laundry before heading home! We would not hesitate to rent this cabin again or recommend it to friends. We hope to come back next year!
Salmon and Steelhead fishing less than 5 mins down the road --
