About The Owner

We love our Mountain Getaway. We live in the Portland area so it is a 45 minute drive to feel like we are away from the busy life in town. We enjoy Hiking, Skiing, Snowshoeing and Fishing in the Mt Hood Territory. Our cabin is a wonderful place, in a excellent location, to visit with family and friends. We are sure you will find it just as enjoyable and relaxing as we do.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2008

Why The Owner chose Mount Hood

We have always wanted to live on the River.

It is close to some of the best wilderness trails, tallest old growth trees and stunning views of the rivers and mountians.

We enjoy all Mt. Hood outdoor activities,

including Golfing about 10 mins. away in the small town of Welches.

Great restaurants and gift shops just up the road

Mountain Bike trails and great fishing holes --very close by--

Central location for all outdoor activities.

Or just sit back in the corona chairs and take in the best wild river --rapid views-- you dream about.

What makes this cabin unique

Sitting back, with a small fire by the river or sitting on the large cedar decks watching the river flow.

Big open great room so the whole family has together time.

It dosen't get any better than this !!

Amazing house and location! So cozy and relaxing - we will definitely be back!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved everything about our stay. From the beautiful - impeccably clean house to the relaxing atmosphere and location, we will definitely be back! We loved the Master Bedroom (super comfy by the way) with the doors overlooking the backyard and river - what an amazing view to wake up to! It was so peaceful to sit out on the deck and listen to the sound of the river. We loved the open concept layout of the house with all of the windows, the high ceilings, beautiful views, etc. We felt like we were in a Hallmark card! We didn't use the fireplace but I love that there is one so you have the option to use it (and the wood was provided which is awesome)! The owners were so friendly and accommodating when booking. Highly recommend!

Very relaxing, beautiful surroundings.

  • 5 of 5

Four of us enjoyed two nights at the River House, a very comfortable home sitting right on the Sandy River. Good food nearby but we were very content to spend most of the time listening to the river and rain. Thank you.

Beautiful home on the river!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned home from our long weekend at the Sandy River Front cabin and I miss it so much! The house is wonderfully situated on a roaring river with lots of outdoor seating that takes advantage of the gorgeous setting. The sound of the river is soothing and we enjoyed sitting on a riverside bench reading books - super relaxing. It is also located close to hundreds of hiking trails. We loved going up to Ramona Falls and Mirror Lake and returning to roast s'mores in the fire pit along the river.

The house it extremely well designed, with large windows overlooking the view and large rooms and soaring ceilings. While it looks beautiful on the webpage, it was actually much nicer than we anticipated. It is really more of a house than a cabin. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked every night. The appliances were high quality and new. Everything about this place was top notch. Our family of 4, hope to return every year! if I could give it 6 stars, I would.

Best family vacation ever!

  • 4 of 5

Everything was perfect for our family vacation, from the helpful (and truthful) website to the final checkout process. Nothing about the house, location, or setting was over-stated! Loved it all and hope to return again. Thanks!
