About Chris Rosenthal
Twice a year the owner offers a couples coaching workshop retreat. Chris is a psychotherapist who left her private practice in Florida to build a retreat center at the western edge of the Catskill Mountains. "It was my idea of retirement." In addition to the chalet cabin, there are two yurts that are for rent that are tucked in the woods, with modern bath and kitchens. Chris lives on the property in a prefab house designed by Resolution 4: Architecture.

Why Chris Rosenthal chose East Meredith
The mountain chalet cabin sits on a raised wrap-around deck in the woods and nature, with meadow and mountain views. The 70 private acres sits in a rural area, surrounded by farms. Some like to come and never leave "the hill". Others want to enjoy what the area has to offer. There are 3 towns within 20 minutes, with local dining restaurants, shopping, antique stores and gallery shops. A quaint bookstore village is close by. A nearby farm will deliver farm to table dining. Kayaking is 25 minutes away, a nearby lake for swimming is 10 minutes. In addition to the property's trails, there are numerous hiking opportunities in the area, including hiking or skiing on nearby mountains. Fishing and golfing is also 20 minutes away. Museums and concerts are also nearby. The West Kortright Center that offers concerts during the summer in a country setting, is just 5 miniutes. The Hanford Mills Museum likewise is 5 minutes. Cooperstown with its Dreams Park is 35 and 25 minutes. Glimmerglass Opera House is 75 minutes. The topography in the entire area is spectacular, so you can't drive on any country road that doesn't have breathtaking scenery.
What makes this Cabin unique
I fell in love with the property the minute I drove up its winding road. The tall maple and pine trees, the breathtaking view of the next mountain over, the neighboring fields, the open skies. But most of all, I fell in love with what I now call "a PEACE of the Catskills". The quiet, peacefulness was just what I was looking for....away from city lights and city sounds and city congestion. There are ravens and an occasional eagle overhead rather than jet noises.

We had a great time staying with our extended family at the Chalet! We previously stayed in the yourt as well. We love this property and everything East Meredith has to offer. Thanks again, Chris!
thanks, sara. i hope you and your family come again to harmony hill.
Post Baseball Peace
We loved the house and the property, as it was a perfect spot to unwind after watching lots of baseball. Our pit bull/hound enjoyed the nature the most, taking in all the sights and smells (first confused encounter with a deer for this Philly dog). We wanted for nothing and would love to come back to the serenity when there are no games to watch (but we did love watching our son!). Chris was responsive and a pleasure to interact with. Can't go wrong staying here if you love peace, quiet and nature.
it was a pleasure having you stay. i'm glad you enjoyed what time you had here, hopefully the hiking trails and the fieldstone labyrinth and campfire under the stars. please do come again!
Awesome property! House settled in the forest with abundant wildlife all around! Awesome trails to walk on during the day. Very relaxing environment. Even has Wifi and Netflix for the kiddos. We would highly recommended to anyone looking for a peaceful place to stay. Chris was awesome and very quick to respond to emails or phone calls.
thanks, michael. it was equally awesome having you and your family stay at the hill.
This is a beautiful property! It is a quiet location to enjoy, be in nature and relax.
it was lovely having you and your family stay in the chalet cabin. i do hope you have cause to come again!
Beautiful property and great host!
We went in the snow so it was just beautiful. Deer everywhere. Forest all around takes you away. Loved the open floor plan, vaulted ceilings. Everything we needed was there. The huge windows all around literally made you feel like you were one with nature. You could just sit and watch the wildlife and be content to do nothing more. Super quiet. The bedroom area upstairs has large skylights so we were able to watch the snow falling. In the mornings the deer were out in the meadow by the dozens so it was so beautiful to see. The chalet was warm and cozy with the nice propane fire place. At night it lit up the room and with the darkness and the windows it felt surreal. There was WiFi and total phone coverage. There’s a tv to watch if you desire. Bathrooms a good size to with tub to relax in. I loved cooking while watching the nature and snow all around me. We truly had a beautiful stay. If your looking to relax and come down from life- you won’t find a more beautiful spot. It’s just rustic enough to feel like a camp but modern enough to feel at home. A perfect blend. We will be back in warmer weather to enjoy the land and to renew our vows at the Labrynth! Chris is super sweet and helpful. She shows you around the chalet and how to use everything and was always available by phone if needed which we didn’t. Felt safe and secure. Thank you so much Chris for sharing your beauty with us!
thank you, gira, for your beautiful description of the chalet cabin and our private land. the deer seem to know when there are admiring guests and give the up close views. i'm so glad you enjoyed your time here. we haven't seen the labyrinth again with its white blanket but for sure it will show up in spring!
What a lovely, comfortable, sun-filled home on a sanctuary of green. We loved exploring the trails and green pastures of this property, and though there were other guests in nearby yurts, we never crossed paths and enjoyed total privacy here. We would happily enjoy repeat visits to this very special spot.
mark, i do hope you come for a repeat visit! then i will be sure to be here. i'm glad you enjoyed the woods and meadow and the privacy. hope you were able to have a camp fire.
