Beautiful domain for rent in the Estrie region situated on a beautiful wooded property with two (2) hectares (six acres), 15 mn from the natural park of Mount Orford, 15 mn from the city of Magog, and 5mn from the village of Eastman. Only one hour from Montreal and 40 mn from Sherbrook, this beautiful property offers an ideal, serene environment for a relaxing vacation while offering a diverse range of outdoor sports and activities.
The area offers an incredible variety of year-round activities, such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, bicycle riding and mountain biking, golf, water skiing, alpine and cross country skiing, ice skating, and sleigh riding. There are multiple ski resorts in the area that offer not only skiing in the winter, but tree adventures, hiking paths, and nature watching in the summer. In addition, admire the fall foliage and the “Flambee des Couleurs” in Magog and at Mount Orford.
Other popular attractions include concerts, art festivals, summer theatre and other activities in Magog and in the surrounding villages like Knowlton, North Hatley, and Sutton, as well as the marked Wine and Bicycle Routes throughout the Eastern Townships.
The property includes two houses, which can either be rented together or separately, has a hot tub, and access to private and ecological Lake Nick (No motor boating), situated within 15 mn of walking and 5mn biking distance.
My name is William. My wife, son and I love the outdoor sports like skiing, fishing and biking... We find that this area provides all the pleasures for a nature and outdoors activities lover.
The Owner purchased this house in 2009
Our house will give you peace and relaxation, access to a beautiful lake, skiing nearby and gorgeous outdoors and scenery. Our property is situated in a private area in a cul-de-sac with all the silence required for a relaxing vacation.
Our group loved our stay! The log home is cozy and incredibly well stocked with all kitchen supplies one would need, beautiful fluffy towels, an ample indoor woodpile for the wood stove, and lovely quiet location for relaxing and solid night sleep. The hot tub under the stars with snow falling softly was dreamy. After skiing - coming back to The Beaver was so wonderful - a fire, glass of wine and relax!!
Le Castor, was lovely and more fun and excitement than we could handle on our own. The cottage and grounds were wonderful, clean, warm, comfy and we could find everything we needed. Lots of easily accessible firewood to make for a really cosy atmosphere. ( Do need a supply of old newspaper to start the fire). The hot tub was excellent, everything worked, and it was situated in a great spot to see the stars after skiing and supper :-) The linens and towels were all there and the bathrooms and kitchen were well equipped. The biggest problem we had was getting in and out. It had poured rain all the way from Peterborough till we got to the cottage. The hill going to the cottage was solid ice all the way up and down the other side. Although Matthew sanded the road our studless( studs are illegal in Ontario) winter tires couldn't get us up the hill, so we had to ride in Matthew's sand truck( he has chains). On the way out it took the sander seven runs to lay enough down to get both cars out. So if not for the ice which also made the walk up to the cottage from the cars treacherous, I would have given this place five stars, but for the ice ( which was nature being a jerk), as it was one of the girls saw many stars as she landed on her butt in the icy driveway.
We would highly recommend it as long as it doesn't rain in the winter. We'll be back; next time we'll borrow some tire chains :-)
Stayed here for 4 nights with a few friends on a ski getaway. Pleasantly surprised by the "beaver. Clean, cozy, and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Rooms are spacious, the wood stove provides lovely warmth and ambiance, and the outdoor hot tub was very much enjoyed after each day skiing. The lot is very private and well situated to some great winter activities. Magog close by with several restaurants and shops, and the great skating path. Quaint Owls Head as well as Mont Orford are just a short drive. For the more adventurous, Mont Sutton and Jay Peak are just over 30 minutes away. Owners were great to deal with and the property manager very helpful. Will definitely return for another ski trip and also perhaps for a summer stay as well.
it was perfect !!we would like a bigger TV because we like to watch movies !!
no complains about nothing else next year we will rent it again without a doubt
thanks The Timperios !!!
Domain "the Beaver" was a superb and peaceful getaway for four people - three generations of a family aged 21 to 88! The kitchen was extraordinarily well- equipped. It was well-situated for interesting drives in the Cantons de l'Est. We divided our time between relaxing on the extremely spacious property, swimming and kayaking on the small private lake about 1 km drive away, looking up at the milky way from the hot tub at night and going on adventures in the very historic and "picturesque" area. I would say ' exactly as advertised" but it absolutely exceeded our expectations.
We spent just over a month at this home in the Eastern Townships and could not have enjoyed it more. The area around the home is peaceful and stunning - we enjoyed many walks around the lake. The home is mainly heated by the wood burning fireplace which added a lovely and magical element to our stay. Could not say more positive things! Thank you to William and his family!
Private access to a beautiful ecological lake with kayaking , fishing (Summer and winter) and swimming.
