This is a great house for a large group. We rented both the house and the guest suite downstairs and it facilitated a great visit to the Monterey peninsula. Walking distance to the stores and restaurants (and a nice park/playground - we had kids with us) but you never feel like you're in a busy part of town. If you decide to cook in the house it's well set up for that too. They have lots of the cooking basics like salt, some spices, etc - I hate renting properties where you decide to cook but you find out you basically need to re-stock a pantry because the rental house comes with nothing so we were pleasantly surprised by how extensive the place was prepared. Well stocked with plates and pans you'all need for a large group as well. The back yard is actually way more spacious than we imagined or expected and on nice days the kids like running around the back yard while we enjoyed a glass of wine. Overall I can't recommend this property enough for groups of families as the rooms give the ability for a bit of separation but you really are all together.
This awesome home was the perfect place for our family celebration. Everyone had a great time, plenty of space, everything was very comfortable and it felt very cozy. Wish we could have stayed much longer.highly recommend
Our multigenerational family of nine spent Christmas week at Lighthouse Sanctuary. Upon our arrival, we found the house to be comfortable, cozy, clean, tastefully furnished and beautifully decorated for the holidays. The kitchen, though small, was very well equipped and the dining room nicely accommodated all of us. The house was spacious enough to allow all of us to gather comfortably, but also offered quiet spaces for time alone.
Our family greatly enjoyed the house's convenient location. We walked almost everywhere: to the shops downtown, to Asilomar Beach, which was 10 minutes away, to Lover's Point, another 10 minute walk in the opposite direction.
We were without hot water the first day and called the property manager for assistance. She was responsive, extremely helpful and called for a plumber to inspect the issue that same day. The issue was resolved promptly.
All in all, we had an unforgettable stay and would love returning to this peaceful well-maintained home.
Great house for a large family. Nice location and wonderful home. Enough space and comfortable set up.
The house was spacious and clean and perfectly located just down the street from all the restaurants on Lighthouse Ave. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, and the house manager Julia was responsive and extremely helpful. There was plenty of parking in the driveway and on the street.
The Monterey Peninsula is unique in its combination of breathtaking natural resources and a multiplicity of cultural and entertainment possibilities. You can find something for every possible taste. For nature lovers, there is the diversity of mountain and sea, for picnicking, surfing, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, beachcombing, bird-watching, kayaking, scuba diving, tidepooling, biking and more. If you want a man-made excitement, we have art galleries galore, excellent fine-art museums, local theater, outstanding restaurants, boutiques, a natural history and a children's museum, a world-class aquarium, and that's just for starters. History buffs will have a field day exploring the adobes of Monterey. There's so much to do that you cannot possibly do it all in one visit, which means you will have to come back!
