This gorgeous sprawling home on 3 acres is surrounded by 50 acres of conservation land. It is extremely private, very quiet, has its own pond, and plenty of space for sunbathing and outside play, large, expansive decks, lots of room for entertainment inside. It is completely equipped with big TVs and electronics, and a fully equipped kitchen. Secure WiFi. This is the perfect place for that Cape Cod summer holiday, a wedding weekend in the spring or fall, for special extended family get-togethers over a long weekend, at Thanksgiving, or Christmas or New Year's. Call us! (note that we do not host weddings or large gatherings on-site).

What's nearby: The house is located in south Chatham and is a three minute drive (just down the road) to Cockle Cove beach. Continue towards main street in downtown Chatham (5 minutes), you will pass Ridgevale and then Harding's beaches. We are three minutes from the Super Stop and Shop and the liquor store, as well as several restaurants and take-outs. It is 5 minutes to the Captains golf course, ten minutes from Chatham Seaside links and 5 minutes from Cape Cod National Golf Club (if you are lucky enough to be a member!). As one of our guests put it after googling the satellite photo 'I like the location; close to everything and totally away from everything'.

New for 2018; the central air conditioning system has been replaced with new individual zone units. Very quiet and very effective!

There's a private basketball court (basketballs in the garage) and a ping-pong table. The backyard has a zip line which kids love. Bring your kayak or canoe or use those on the property (at your own risk). The house is centrally air conditioned and it has a main floor laundry room. The big living room runs from one side of the house to the other and is central to the decks, kitchen and main floor master bedroom. The house sits on 3 acres, surrounded by 50 acres of conservation land so you will not have any neighbors. It is very quiet, very private and is just the perfect place for a family vacation, a couples get-away, a retreat, extended family holidays over long weekends, or for those Cape Cod wedding weekends both spring and fall. The pond is fresh water but not swimable. There are numerous trails from the house including to Goose Pond which is close by and is swimable. The trails are great for walking or daily runs. Secure wifi, phone and computer jacks in every room.

A lovely, spacious, and comfortable home in a secluded setting with wonderful gardens

  • 5 of 5

This is the second summer we spent two weeks at this wonderful house. It is great for a large family since it has two refrigerators, a large, extremely well stocked kitchen, and ample rooms set out over three floors. Each summer we were blessed with beautiful weather, but the house would be very comfortable on rainy days with multiple areas for people to gather or spread apart. The owners have amply stocked it with many games, books, DVDs, TVs, bikes, beach toys, etc! The summer of 2016 was very hot, so we did not spend much time on the decks, but they were most delightful this past summer (2017). Our children and grandchildren love the nearby kettle pond, and several days we went to Corporation Beach in Dennis (getting there soon after 9:00 guarantees a parking space). And, of course, Cape Cod is blessed with many wonderful restaurants.

Beside the property itself, one must make positive comments about the owners whom we briefly met in 2016 and with whom we have communicated a number of times since. They have always expressed an interest in our comfort and whether all things were in order.

Very lovely and comfortable home in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

We just spent our second annual family week at the Cape in this home. Our group consists of three generations, with the children ranging in ages from 11 months to 15 years. It was comfortable and fun for everyone. The house is well equipped with plenty of kitchen supplies and activities for the kids. The description and pictures on the website are accurate.

Our Stay - July 2 - July 8, 2017

  • 5 of 5

We just returned last night from a wonderful family week in this home. There were ten of us including four children under 6 years of age. Leaving the driveway for Boston Logan was very hard for all of us.

The below reviews all have the same theme. The home has everything you would want for an incredible rental in Chatham - plenty of room for everyone, a great well equipped kitchen, entertainment (TV's, music, video, etc.) with a great library of DVD's and books, outdoors equipment from bikes to boats. There is so much to do without leaving the grounds.

The pictures do not do the grounds justice. The landscaping is beautiful, blooming and much more mature now. The view of Ministers Pond from the house is relaxing. Goose Pond (and swimming) is a short hike away. The home is secluded in a heavily wooded area with more conservation land around it but it sits in a very centrally located area to easily get out and enjoy Chatham and the surrounding area. As an added treat, the kids enjoyed seeing the resident turkey patrolling the yard in the mornings and evenings - Jaime said there were 13 in the flock last fall.

One of the best thoughts about the rental is getting to know the owner Jaime in the months prior to our visit. He made everything so easy for us, answered every question and sincerely wanted our family to have a great time in their home. There is a little children's hideaway room on the second floor and he even had the thoughtfulness to make a sign "Audrey's Playroom" on the door. She was absolutely thrilled.

This was our third vacation in Chatham over the last nine years. The grandkids have expanded the group by four but our need to search for a larger rental has ended. We will certainly return to this home in the future. I hope it will be there for us.

ps. Coming from Texas, central A/C is required and it worked perfectly for us all week!

Owner's Response: It was such a pleasure having this family in our home and we are very glad they had such a good time. Pat, the father planned for months to ensure every detail was worked out so that his kids and his grand kids had the best time. We would welcome them back ANYTIME (and maybe a few more to come down the road!)

An outstanding place to enjoy a family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our extended famil y of 12 (ages 2 to 76) enjoyed a glorious week at theis fabulous home. Since my wife grew up on Cape Cod, and since we live in the Boston area, we were fully aware of the many amenities and activities in the surrounding area.

As noted by other reviewers, this is a most comfortable home - and it really is described by Jaime. It was well designed with large and inviting rooms. The kitchen is well laid out and overly stocked with plates, glasses, utensils, etc. Having two refrigerators was a major benefit since our children brought several prepared meals and produce, and there was ample room for cold drinks, etc. The biggest attraction for the children was Goose Pond. Most of us hiked there each day with the beach chairs, etc, going by car. Evenings in front of the fire pit or running on the flats at low tide in Dennis were memorable times as well.

We had visited the house in June when Jaime and Michele were present. We found them charming and most accomodating. This association carried over by e-mail during our stay and after we left.

Needless to say, we are eager to return.

A wonderful place for families

  • 5 of 5

The house is absolutely gorgeous, and very spacious for our group of 10 (6 adults, 4 kids aged 7, 9, 11, and 15). There is plenty of space in and outside of the house for the kids to play, to say nothing of the paddleboat on the pond and the firepit for s'mores.

The location is convenient to stores, restaurants, and beaches. Try the Country Store (a 5-minute walk for breakfast burritos) and Marie's Pie Shop (a 5 minute drive for dessert pies AND bring-home-and-warm-in-the-oven lasagna, chicken pot pie, etc). A Chatham restaurant we enjoyed was the Longshore, on Main Street.

On our one rainy morning the kids enjoyed learning about the Enigma machine and the Morse Code at the Marconi Museum in Chatham. On sunshiny days we played mini-golf at Harbor Lights in Brewster, tennis (go to the Chatham high school - 9 courts), and of course the beaches.

Definitely a 5-star place to stay! We have already recommended it to friends.

About Jaime

The owners are two parents with five kids; they love the Cape and have been coming here for 35 summers since they were teenagers. They like the family traditions, the fun and excitement on the cape in the summer, the energy people bring when they are here for a week or two and they set out to make the most of every minute!

Jaime purchased this estate in 2009

Why Jaime chose South Chatham

This is the third property the owners have owned and rented, and this one is simply fantastic. They like beautiful surroundings with room to host lots of family and of being able to serve big meals without a lot of bother. With this house, they've tried to provide everything that in their experience, people look for when they rent a nice house for their own cape cod holiday. If you need something special, let us know before you go!

What makes this estate unique

From this as your base on the cape, you can go as hard as you want or be as relaxed as you need to be. You are in the center of everything, yet you have the space, the quiet and the privacy to just withdraw and relax.

Cape Cod National golf is close by, also the Captains (36), chatham seaside links, Cranberry Valley. Super Stop and Shop is very convenient as are a number of brand stores (Talbots, Orvis etc). If you click on the satellite view, our house is the big one below the marker on the map , and you will see the pond, the house and the decks. Because of its central location you are a short drive from everything; easy access to food, liquor, wines and shopping. Minutes from both main street Chatham, the midcape highway, and local beaches beginning with cocklecove. Its also very private and quiet. The Cape Cod bike trail is about half a mile down the road. We have five bikes you are welcome to use and more can be rented in Chatham. The bikes are tuned the beginning of the season then used by guests. They get hard use during the summer and you may need to lube or tighten something.
