About the property

Townhome, 4 Bedrooms + Den, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Across the way from Diamond Peak, one of Tahoe's loveliest ski resorts, this spacious, tastefully decorated north shore home offers spectacular views of world famous Lake Tahoe from nearly every window. Two nicely sized decks offer a fantastic place to entertain and barbeque while enjoying breathtaking western sunsets over the lake and mountains.

This newer, 2900 sq. ft. 4 story home offers great separation of living space. Because of its excellent layout, this is the perfect home for one large family or two smaller families. The home features beautiful artwork, much of it Tahoe themed. The furniture is comfortable and includes some antiques. Open beam/ high ceilings on the top two floors add to the feeling of spaciousness. The top floor is home to the great room and the kitchen. This floor is at street level, making entry and unloading groceries a breeze from the garage or street. The gourmet kitchen features stunning black granite and top of the line appliances, including a large gas stove. Unlike many vacation rentals, our kitchen is fully stocked with spices, oils and condiments, aluminum foil... - just about everything you need to prepare a Thanksgiving feast or just whip up some pancakes before a day on the slopes or swimming in the lake.

The great room flows from the kitchen and is perfect for entertaining and enjoying the views. It features up-to-date electronics, including a 40 inch Samsung LCD TV and Blu-ray player. Each of the other floors has its own TV's, including a DVD player one each floor.

Below the great room and kitchen, the large master suite and bath occupy an entire floor. The master bedroom has a king bed with luxurious Temperpedic pillow top. Included are an HD TV and DVD player. The master bath is highlighted by an oversized shower with lovely travertine throughout. Enjoy a long, hot, relaxing shower while watching the snow drift down outside the lake view private bathroom windows!

Below the master floor is one large bedroom with a queen bed, the den (with wet bar, fireplace and sofa sleeper) and a bath. [PLEASE NOTE:

THE VIRTUAL TOUR OF OUR HOME LISTED BELOW WAS DONE WHEN THE FOURTH BEDROOM HAD A FUTON BED. IT NOW HAS TWO TWIN BEDS, SO IT LOOKS A BIT DIFFERENT] The 3rd and 4th bedrooms are on the bottom floor. One has two twin beds, the other a queen. A Jack and Jill bathroom separates these two bedrooms. Plenty of quality linens and towels (including beach towels) are provided.

A unique and important feature is the private in-home elevator. If you are traveling with the elderly, or if a disabled person is part of your group, the elevator will provide them with easy access to the top three floors. It is large enough to accommodate a wheelchair. It also makes it easy to deal with luggage upon arrival or on departure. Another unique feature of our home is the arcade style counter top video game console in the den. It features dozens of trivia, card and puzzle type games to challenge both old and young. There is also an original Xbox with games and some board games to help keep the kids occupied.

No home in Tahoe would be complete without a fireplace, and ours has three - in the great room, master bedroom and den. The radiant in-floor heating system is cozy and quiet. At your disposal you will find a telescope and binoculars. Any of the numerous winter and summer toys in the garage are yours to use, including sleds, backpacks, coolers and beach chairs. In our library, we've included informative books on Tahoe history, hiking trails and local shrubs and trees along with various other guide books and a selection of novels.

Diamond Peak is well-known for being very family friendly and has a reputation of offering the best ski and snowboard instruction for children in the entire Tahoe area. The Diamond Peak facilities were remodeled in 2010. Its runs have some of the greatest views of the Lake and the western horizon of any ski resort in Tahoe. A huge plus is that Diamond Peak is never overcrowded like the mega ski areas. A round trip from our home to the Diamond Peak parking area is less than 5 minutes. If you want a greater challenge than what Diamond Peak provides, Tahoe is also home to such 'big names' as Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar and Heavenly. Snowshoeing has been gaining in popularity in recent years and the local opportunities abound.

If summer is your season, then you are probably well aware of Lake Tahoe's international reputation as a premier summer playground. Swimming, boating, kayaking and any and all other water sports and activities await you. The crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe are only minutes away from our home. You could spend years exploring the hiking trails in and around the Tahoe basin. When it comes to golf, there are tens of dozens of beautiful courses in the Tahoe-Reno area. Nothing makes you feel more like a pro than nailing a drive in that thin mountain air! In 2013 we added an air-conditioner to our upper floor, just in case the summer gets a bit too warm for you.

Incline Village is the crown jewel of Lake Tahoe. Perhaps that is why its lakefront property is some of the most expensive in the country! Incline's north shore location is much less crowded and more quiet than what is found on Tahoe's busier and more developed south shore. Incline's amenities include a modern recreation center, two private beaches, tennis courts, and both the Championship and Mountain golf courses. The town of Incline offers plenty of shopping, from a major supermarket to boutique shops and everything in-between. There is both casual and fine dining at the many local restaurants. If you visit in summer, don't miss the annual Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival at nearby Sand Harbor

When you are ready for some nighttime fun, the Hyatt Resort and Casino is the 'best bet' on the north shore, and is only minutes away. If it's serious excitement you are after, the nightlife and world class entertainment offered by both Tahoe's South Shore and in Reno is little more than a half hour away, as is the Reno International Airport.

If the perfect Lake Tahoe vacation is what you seek, you've found it here.

About Trish

Jim, an investor, and Trish Melehan, a former teacher enjoy frequent trips to Tahoe with their dog Dingo. Sometimes their grown children and 2 granddaughters join them for a special holiday. They love to entertain their family and friends at the home as well. The home is really too big for just the two of them, but often that's what it is, Jim and Trish's special getaway. They love to hike and swim in the lake during the summer months. Jim also enjoys the abundance of golf in the region. During the winter they enjoy snowshoeing. They also occasionally venture into one or more of the local casinos for some recreational gambling. Jim likes to place the occasional sports bet and Trish enjoys poker. The restaurants in the Tahoe area are terrific, but a nice quiet bar-b-que and dinner on the deck followed by a rented movie can make for a perfect evening.

Trish purchased this townhome in 2002

Why Trish chose Incline Village

Our families have been visiting Tahoe for generations we've always dreamed of our own home at the Lake. It is only a few hours drive from our home in the Monterey Bay Area to our place in Tahoe. We love the mountains and will never tire of our view of the Lake that we love so much.

What makes this townhome unique

Tahoe has so much to offer both young and old. Diamond Peak is right across the street, so since Jim doesn't ski he gets to drop the skiers off at the lodge and pick them up at the end of the day. The round trip drive takes 5 minutes! Incline's private beaches are only minutes away, as is the championship golf course. Swimming in the winter is always fun in the Olympic size indoor pool at Incline's Rec Center. Incline is a very lovely town with a real home town feel. One bypasses much of Tahoe's lakeshore traffic during the winter when one stays in Incline Village. We love the private beaches in the summer months!

Fabulous, beautiful view, great location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 rented this lovely home over 4th of July. Echoing the words of a 2015 guest, this is the best stocked and equipped home we have ever rented! It is such a pleasure to be able to move right in and begin vacationing immediately. The owners were exceptionally helpful and accommodating in answering our questions to ensure that we were thoroughly informed about the workings of the home. A member of our family uses a wheelchair - with help over the two steps in the garage and one near the elevator, he was able to get around easily. The roomy master bedroom and bathroom were big enough to accommodate his needs as well. The house was certainly spacious with a terrific family eating and gathering area upstairs. Additionally, the bedroom layout was perfect with everyone having comfortable alone space.

We so enjoyed the views from the back deck including fabulous fireworks displays by the lake!! The sun was plentiful from early in the morning until late in the afternoon. Although the neighbor's deck was close, it was not an issue - everyone seems very considerate of one another. The house location in Incline Village was most convenient including the lake, 2 golf courses, water sports rental, shopping and dining all within 10 minutes.

I am delighted to heartily recommend this home and its most gracious owners!

Owner's Response: Thank you Lisa. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay in our home. We put a lot of effort into providing for the needs of our renters, from a well stocked pantry to the swim toys in the garage. It's nice to know these efforts are appreciated. We hope you are able to return one day. Merrily, Trish

Comfortable, Spacious and Homey!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this beautiful home with our grown children and grandchildren. I can honestly say that I have never stayed at a home that is better stocked and equipped. We have had concerns when renting vacation home, about the seating at the main table. (we all like to sit together) The dining table is very large and big enough for all. There is so much room, and because the bedrooms are on different floors it is very quiet. Anything that we thought we might need was already there! It is close to the grocery store and fabulous beaches. Oh, and there is an elevator!!! The views are breathtaking. The owners are easy to reach and very welcoming. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Incredible place to stay in Incline Village

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time spending New Years Eve week at this house. It exceeded all of our expectations. The house is 4-stories, which is extremely convenient for multiple families as everyone has privacy and personal space. It also allows for wonderful views from every single room in the house. The house is very spacious, well-stocked, nicely appointed, and clean. You feel like you in a home, not just a house. The location is hard to beat as it's a stone-throw away from Diamond Peak (literally) and a short drive to the lake, restaurants, Hyatt, etc. Additionally, owners are very easy and pleasant to deal with. I cannot recommend this house enough and look forward to returning.

Superb Thanksgiving Holiday!

  • 5 of 5

My granddaughters wiggled in their seats on the way to Tahoe saying "When will we be at the cabin". "WOW, this is so beautiful," was the first words out of my 7 year olds mouth! I had never had "Thanksgiving", where we were doing all the cooking away. This home had a spacious kitchen, very well stocked with pans, roasters, spices, etc, which made our dinner preparations very easy. The living areas are open making it easy to visit and the home is accented with such a personal touch. There was even a bit of snow at the bottom of Diamond Peak with a great hilling for sledding with the kids. After the Turkey was popped in, we drove over with discs just a couple minutes away. What a spot this would be when after the snow comes, for can almost walk to the slopes. The location of the home is close to the beach, great parks for the kids, great dining and a huge supermarket. In the garage, there were lots of summer toys to use, so we are hoping to take advantage of a summer trip as well. The way the house was set up with 4 levels, it was really easy to give everyone good privacy. The bathrooms were all very nice and beds were comfy. For me, over 55, it was great to have the elevator to bring all our stuff up and down and to ride when I was feeling lazy:-) A wonderful visit, Thanks!

Owner's Response: Lori, We are so glad you had such an enjoyable experience at our home. Hope you can come back in the summer too. BTW, we did have a couple of sleds and some saucers in our garage for our guests to use during the winter. Maybe you can use them next time. Thanks for your review! Trish and Jim

The condo felt like home. The furnishings were well decorated and supplies very adequate. The home was very clean, and everyone enjoyed their bedrooms. The condo was really spacious. The groom's family rented the condo next door. When they came to visit us, they all remarked how nicely decorated ours was and how it had a lot of personal touches. The condo next door was plain and uninviting.
