Montego Bay condo - studio, 1 bathroom, sleeps 2. This charming and cozy 14th floor studio apartment with balcony has a spectacular panoramic view across the bay of Montego Bay from the mountainous coastline around to the white sand beach of Doctor's Cave. The pulse and the rhythms of the resort strip rise from the street below without disturbing. Entry to the beach is right across the street. There is a restaurant and bar on the property adjacent to the full-size swimming pool. To pick up drinks and snacks there is a convenience store in the building near the entrance. Please Note: even if the dates desired are showing reserved, don't hesitate to contact me and check availability.

Studio, view and location: This 14th floor studio apartment and balcony has a panoramic view extending from the famous Doctor’s Cave beach across the bay of Montego Bay and along the mountainous coastline. The spectacular view towards the west is a daily show of the changing effects of the sunlight on the azure sea ending in an enchanting sunset and the thick veil of a tropical night. The rusted red roofs directly below are not shabby but rather neglected. They house the carefully preserved and unoccupied Casa Blanca Hotel, which was the 1940s haunt of film stars like Errol Flynn and Richard Widmark. It all makes for dreaming nostalgic dreams of Montego Bay in its halcyon days. Try knocking on the gate and the owner or his agent may let you in for a viewing.

The lower entrance to the building is located on the resort strip where there are bars, souvenir shops and restaurants in close vicinity. The studio itself is quite "retro" in feeling with a large four-poster bed which sleeps 2, 1960's furniture and fittings, cable TV, wifi internet access, private bathroom, fully-equipped kitchenette with refrigerator, stove, microwave oven, toaster, electric kettle, coffee maker, cookware, dishes and glasses.

What to expect in Montego Bay Club: In this studio you will have more freedom and the environment will be less predictable than in an all-inclusive hotel. At the same time there are no bed-and-breakfast restrictions on eating times or arrival and departure times. You are completely free. If you aren’t satisfied I would like to know, please contact me and I will do everything possible to improve the situation. This is a destination for people who love Jamaica; its beauty as well as its people and in its imperfections can find humor. Don’t be hesitant to be friendly but ignore the hawking and hustling of the street sellers and shop employees. They are annoying indeed but harmless.

Transportation, Shopping and Tours: There are regular JUTA taxis at fixed-distance fares for up to and including four people available all day before the entrance on the resort strip. Entry into Doctor’s Cave Beach costs US$6 per day per person with multiple exits and entries. Beach umbrellas are extra. There are many restaurants and bars on the beach so there really is no urgency to exit except to find less expensive prices. The crafts market is within walking distance. A small convenience store is located in the building. Large supermarkets are a taxi ride away and various tours can be arranged from the agencies on Gloucester Ave or better yet enquire at the airport on arrival.

Why Neville chose Montego Bay

A more convenient location in Montego Bay and indeed in Jamaica cannot be found. The airport is 5 minutes away by taxi. The beach is across the street. Restaurants and bars are within walking distance. Taxis are available at the entrance. A mini-supermarket is in the building. There is a telephone operator and security personnel on duty 24 hours a day.

Wonderful Vacation

I just returned from a stay at Neville's wonderful condo. This is a well appointed, self-catering condo with everything necessary for a relaxing stay. It is an exceptionally clean and comfortable condo located just minutes from the airport and across the street from the most popular beach in MoBay.

I was met at the condo by the owner, Neville, who familiarized me with everything in the condo. Sheryl schedules the days to come by to help with housekeeping chores and she and Neville called frequently to make sure everything was ok. Everything you need for comfort and convenience is included in this rental. The internet and cable TV reception is very good. The condo looks even more attractive than the photos. The bed is comfortable and the condo has a well equipped kitchen if you choose to prepare your meals or just warm up your leftovers from those wonderful restaurants. The view from the the balcony is incredible.

The property staff and residents of the building are very friendly and accommodating. The building has 24-hour security and there is a small convenience store on the 2nd floor open 24-hours. There are other convenience stores within walking distance from the condo and large grocery stores a short taxi ride away. There is a fresh vegetable truck that arrives on the property Mondays and Wednesdays (check the bulletin board in the lobby for times) and another truck that stops just next to the building on the lower road on Thursdays. A major advantage of this condo's location is that you do not need a rental car since many of the major attractions and popular restaurants are located within walking distance. Some of the popular restaurants not within walking distance provide complimentary transportation to and from their restaurants which I used and just tipped the driver.

Thank you Neville for such an enjoyable stay and for checking on me when I was not feeling well. I am looking forward to next year.

Amazing 35th BDay

I truly enjoyed myself at Neville's. I felt right at home and Neville is only a phone call away. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the hipstrip and a short walk into town. As you may have read the view is simply amazing. Be sure to visit The Far Out Fish Hut for the best seafood in Montego Bay. I will definitely be back! Thanks Neville!

A True Home Away Form Home

This 14th floor condo is truly a home away from home. Check in and check out was very easy. The trip from the airport is only a 5 minute drive. The location is within walking distance to a number of different places to eat. Route taxis are running day and night for $100JA. Drivers are available out front for tours to wherever you want to go on the island.

The condo is immaculate. The view of the ocean hits you as soon as you walk in the front door. Very quiet location. If you want to hear music or the sounds of the Hip Strip, the balcony is perfect. Kitchen had everything needed to cook a meal or reheat food. Condo is very safe. Grocery and Liquor store on the 2nd floor is open 24/7 with very good prices.

Overall, very nice place to stay. This condongives you the freedom from being trapped on an all inclusive when you are really supposed to be enjoying the real JAMAICA while in JAMAICA.

Thanks Neville for allowing me to rent your condo for the 7 days and 6 nights.

Fabulous place to stay!

Hi everyone, I have already stayed in this condo twice & have booked my 3rd stay today! The condo is spotless and the owner Mr. Neville is super personable. He adds that personal touch for sure. The location & view are more than perfect. My only complaint is that I would like to stay there 365 days a year! LOL All kidding side the condo is just perfect! Studio on 14th floor

Hello all,

This studio apt was a great price #1. Okay second the building is not as fancy. Location is very central and easy to get to things close by. But the studio need a few updating. And the studio was rather hot. The Ceiling fan could use and updating as well. The bed was rather uncomfortable for me. Great VIEW i must say. But next time i go JA i will stay in an all inclusive resort.

Owner's Response: It is striking that the previous reviews have been so favourable while this one just manages to shift from vindictive to grudging. My only two reasons for ever criticizing a guest are: (1) damage or (2) unauthorized removal of items. In this case, the latter proved true and my expression of displeasure in a personal email has produced this review. May all visitors to these web pages take this circumstance into account. Incidentally, I have returned to Jamaica from Canada at considerable sacrifice in order to give my personal attention to guests. However, this also makes transgressions on the part of a guest clearly evident as is the case here.

This was an amazing place to stay - Being the owner of HI-D TOURS JAMAICA-I have stayed in several other condos, apartments and hotels in this area. I must say this condo was way above the rest. The view from the condo was breath-taking, a perfect location, close to everything. It had everything needed for a great vacation. Full kitchen, full bathroom and nice balcony. The owner was very professional and was a delight to deal with. I would HIGHLY recommend this condo to anyone looking to visit Montego Bay. We had the time of our life !!!!!
