We call Houston, Texas our home. We have two sons and the four of us love to ski, hike, bike, and even white water raft. We love the outdoors!
Bill Schiffbauer purchased this house in 2011
We visited Telluride several years back and fell in love with this beautiful area. We thought we had purchased it mainly for skiing but after visiting in the summer realized we had so much more. The beautiful mountains, water-falls, and cool temperatures are quite up lifting coming from the hot humid climate in Houston.
Quiet, secluded, yet very close to all the charm and fun of Telluride, Mountain Village, and outdoor activities.
We stayed in this lovely comfortable home over Christmas and New Year and enjoyed every minute in it. The house has everything there that anyone could need and more besides. (Even lights and a dressed Christmas tree - perfect) Views from all windows were gorgeous, especially from our third floor bedroom. The location was perfect for us - just 10 mins. to Mountain Village and the gondola or 15 mins. to town. Both locations have many excellent restaurants and bars, so we had the best of both worlds whenever we felt like a meal out. Our family came to stay over for a night here and there and it was great to have the space to spread out.
Bill our neighbour was the icing on the cake. He was so helpful from start to finish and gave us a lot of local information too - what an asset he is to the property and it really was a pleasure to have met him.
We would not hesitate to rent this house again and will certainly do so if we are able to come to Telluride again from the U.K..
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home very near Telluride Mtn Village. The home is spacious (3 levels) with mountain views from the master bedroom and main level patio, and pretty forest views out every window. A large male buck wandered up to the house twice during our stay and meandered around the property as we enjoyed his proud and fearless manner. We were unfamiliar with the kind of radiant heating that works in this house, so contact Bill as we did if necessary to ensure that all controls are properly set and windows closed throughout the house. He was very available and helpful as we settled into the home, so don't hesitate to ask him for assistance. Doing so sooner might have saved a trip to the store to replace batteries in the Dish TV remote, and it would have saved some trouble-shooting only to find out that the main fireplace was broken, but these were minor inconveniences in an otherwise outstanding experience. We particularly enjoyed the sun-room off the main living area where we enjoyed the plants and played board games during our stay. We found easy to follow instructions for the DishTV (excellent selection of channels) and DVD player. My traveling partner stayed in the upstairs master bedroom which turned out to be an unexpected God-gift as she used the large table at the window as a beautiful setting for her planned time working on her art journal. When not relaxing at the house, we enjoyed a hike up to the base of Bridal Veil falls, taking the free Gondola through the ski area and down to Telluride, and attending the Alpine Chapel on Sunday morning. We hope very much to return for another stay at this home in the future.
6 of us stayed in this property and it exceeded our expectations. Stocked kitchen, comfortable living room and sunroom, beautiful patio and a great location just minutes from the Gondolas in Mountain Village.
What a wonderful time we had in the mountains. We have been coming to this area since 1980 and have stayed at many homes and this home is one of the best. Very comfortable home with a large kitchen with all the utensils you will need. We stayed in and cooked several nights and watched a few movies, which they have a decent selection on file. We also sat out in the sun room and played games as well. We took several hikes and Bill, the caretaker, even purchased a trail map to help guide us to the best trails. There is also a hiking/jogging trail near the home that takes you up through a meadow with pond and up through the ski slopes which was about a 2.5 mile journey. Very nice. All rooms and sleeping quarters are well equipped and decorated nicely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
Our family really enjoyed staying at this house. There was plenty of room for everyone! The house had everything we could possibly need. The kitchen was very well equipped and had everything necessary for cooking a big meal if needed. Bill, the caretaker, was very friendly and helpful. The view from the upstairs is beautiful! The house was secluded, yet very convenient to Mountain Village. The house was everything that it had been advertised to be. We would definitely stay there again if we had the opportunity.
Fabulous home with everything you would need right at your fingertips. We enjoy eating in and cooking and can sometimes be surprised by what a vacation home may have available, but there was no need to worry here. Everything you could imagine or need was in the kitchen, well organized, and labeled. We loved it!!! Home was extremely clean (yay!!!) and Bill was so very attentive and helpful. It was great knowing someone was right there available if needed. We enjoyed our time and hope to return!
