Fresh seafood and, yes, there is a golf course ( only 10 minutes away). St Teresa has 130 years of history. A beach community nestled deep in the National Forest. Why Steve Metzke chose Sopchoppy
This is NOT LIKE PC, DESTIN.... this is a well appointed beach cottage deep in the woods. St. Teresa is where my family spent the summers. I grew up on St Teresa beach and it has not changed in 60 years. We have shallow water and very small waves. We have a reef out front protecting us. Good fishing off beach or pier. It is Exclusive and Private. Wooded.Trees, Private Beach, no lights and a sky full of stars at night. Watch wildlife, empty beach, wind through pines, relax and unplug. Put our beach chair in the shallow water and take a nap. Enjoy the area for the Natural Beauty surrounding you. You will be in a very secluded very wooded area with Nature all around you. Enjoy it. This is the last of it Florida has to offer. Please do your homework and read about this area. We are not like the western panhandle. We are called the "Forgotten Coast" for a reason. Google that! I urge future guests to read and study our property description and ask questions if you have elderly/handicapped/disabled persons. My number is posted and any special needs must be addressed before you arrive. St Teresa is special. Our main plus is seclusion and nature and great seafood. We have Wi-Fi and Premium TV....but you can get that at home. You have to decide if St Teresa is the right fit for you. Hundreds of guests have taken fine memories with them. It is the last bit of natural unspoiled coastal Florida. It is an eco-adventure.

Wonderful quiet place to relax
We had a wonderful time at Lazy Dolphin. The house was as described. The walk to the beach was a little farther than it looked from the pictures but beach chairs and kayaks were located close to the beach and the views were worth it! We had the beach practically to our selves the last few days of our stay. Steve and Nancy are wonderful hosts. We will definitely stay here again. Had to leave a day early due to Hurricane Irma and traffic worries. Thoughts and prayers to all in her path.
And the fishing was good. We enjoyed meeting you. Safe travels north, we are going west! Steve and Nancy
Peaceful and quiet vacation spot in a fantastic location
If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful vacation spot in Florida the Lazy Dolphin fits the bill perfectly. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, miles of virtually deserted beach, protected waters for swimming and boating, and birds, dolphin, and fish to watch. We were lucky to be there when the horseshoe crabs came in to mate. The Lazy Dolphin is toward the end of a dirt road, far from the noise of Route 98. It sits across the lawn from the beach but not so far from the sea that you can't hear the sound of the waves. The kitchen wasn't fancy but very functional and full equipped. The living room furniture, two futons and a recliner, was comfortable as was the queen bed. It was wonderful to watch the sun rise from bed or from the dining room table. It's recommended that you get groceries before you arrive but if you don't, as we didn't, there is an IGA ten miles or so away in Carrabelle. The overview is very clear that you need to bring everything you need. It would have been nice to have had the bare minimum of toilet paper, light bulbs in all the lights and perhaps a trash bag in the kitchen waste basket. There are some quirks and some things that could use repair but for the price, the Lazy Dolphin is a great value. We'd love to come back next year.
Great beach getaway
Really enjoyed our time. Great location, great host. Would definitely stay again
My husband and I drove all night from WV to see the sunrise on beautiful, nearby Carabelle Beach. Arriving at the Lazy Dolphin later that morning, we were greeted by egrets, tri-color herons, terns and dolphins. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, and we walked for hours with our dogs along the lovely sand. Owners could not have been more accomodating. My parents flew in later from Vermont to join us for Thanksgiving and we celebrated with the day's catch from My Way Seafood. A perfect spot for nature lovers.
Great place! Very clean and convenient to beach! Beautiful private beach! Away from the crowds!
We will definitely stay here again!
Amazing private beach! What a find ♡
Private and serene. We could not have asked for a better experience! The house was as described and easy to function in for our family. We felt at home and the beach was unbeleivable. We have rented vacation homes on many beaches over the years but this beach is at the top of our bests list! The weather was gorgeous even on overcast days. The marine and birdlife were abundant, we enjoyed hiking in the state parks but were just as happy exploring the beach and kayaking right in this backyard.
Thanks Steve and Nancy for offering this rental.
See you next year! Steve
