This home is the perfect spot for your getaway! With 3 levels and an open floor plan, there is plenty of space to be together, and plenty of space to have a little quiet time away from the rest.
The location is close enough to Grand Lake (a few minutes away) to enjoy it's mountain charm, and just a short walk from Shadow Mountain Lake, and yet far enough away to be a quiet refuge.
This mountain home (and everything in it) is top quality, immaculately clean, and comfortable! All the furnishings were purchased with luxury and comfort in mind.
The 2-story great room is the center of the home and a perfect gathering space, featuring hardwood floors, a wonderful gourmet kitchen and island breakfast bar with slab granite counter tops, eating area, gas fireplace, big flat screen TV, sound bar, and Sonos Hi-Fi music wireless speaker system. This room spills out onto a huge private deck living area that is partially covered with a gas fire pit to gather around, a built-in outdoor kitchen with gas grill, side burner and drop-in cooler, and ample seating to take in the scenery and the great outdoors.
The master bedroom is on this main floor, featuring a king-size bed, a flat screen TV, it's own cozy sitting area/retreat, 5-piece bathroom, and walk-in closet.
Upstairs is a wonderful loft area, complete with a flat screen TV, and a large private bedroom with a king-size bed and a day bed with a trundle/pull out (2 twins together), walk-in closet, and it's own full bathroom. The sofa in this loft area pulls out for additional sleeping (better for smaller children). We love the 'suite' feel of the loft.
Downstairs is a quiet walk-out level with 2 queen bedrooms and another full bathroom. These bedrooms are just off a third living area and game table area with a big flat screen TV, DVD/VHS player, and a game system, 2 comfortable sofas, one of which pulls out for additional sleeping (better for smaller children). This area is perfect for kids of all ages to get away from the rest of the gang and play to their heart's content.
Just outside the atrium doors from the walk-out family room is a quiet area with 2 porch swings. Watch the kids. Enjoy the view. Breathe the wonderful mountain air. Walk up the hill behind the house and take in the fabulous lake view.
All of the bed linens and towels are luxurious and top quality. We have tried to outfit the kitchen with the best of everything - and everything we could think of.
The home feels secluded but is just minutes from everything you'd want to do. It is complete with WiFi internet, Comcast cable, high-efficiency washer and dryer, an on-demand hot water system that enables you to run all the showers, dishwasher, and washer without ever running out of hot water, beautiful decorations, beautiful views, and is ready for you and your family to enjoy time after time.

About John and Becky
We are both Colorado natives, born and raised. We have spent as much time as we could vacationing in the mountains and had always dreamed of having a little slice of heaven in Grand Lake to build family memories. Now we are pleased to be able to share it with you. We hope you and your family will enjoy our mountain home and will create your own wonderful memories.
John and Becky purchased this House in 2009
Why John and Becky chose Grand Lake
Located at the headwaters of the Colorado River and situated on the shores of Grand Lake, Colorado's largest natural body of water, the Town of Grand Lake is the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Home of the world's highest registered yacht club, the nation's highest altitude golf course with grass greens, and Colorado's premiere summer musical company, Grand Lake offers a unique getaway for all. Also adjacent to Arapaho National Recreation Area, Grand Lake has been dubbed the 'Snowmobile Capital of Colorado' due to its access from Town to Colorado's largest network of groomed snowmobile trails. Grand Lake is a year-round vacationer's paradise for over one-hundred years. This beautiful home is less than 2 hours from Denver and is easy to get to. Our home is not far (just 5 minutes) from Grand Lake at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park and all the area attractions but feels like it's in a secluded, private area. It's just a short walk to Shadow Mountain Lake, the Colorado River, walking trails, the public boat launch, and canal between Shadow Mountain Lake and Granby Reservoir. The area offers fishing, boating, hunting, snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking with plenty of wildlife to enjoy.
What makes this House unique
Our home is uniquely situated near Grand Lake and all the attractions, but feels like it's private and remote. The Shores area is a planned community with paved roads and easy access, and our home is on a very quiet cul-de-sac with virtually no traffic. Our home itself is luxurious, accommodating, and comfortable with fine furnishings and everything you might need.

Merry Christmas to us!
We gathered our family from all corners of the globe to celebrate Christmas and New Years together in this lovely mountain setting. We could not have had a better time nor more comfortable accommodations. The kitchen is very well equipped which we appreciated since we all enjoy cooking and ate in for most meals. We also enjoyed the Christmas tree and decorations in place when we arrived. Good distribution of shared and private spaces and plenty of bathrooms and hot water. The only disappointment was that we were unable to use the fire pit which we had been looking forward to. All in all a very memorable family Christmas shared in this lovely cabin in the snow!
Amazing home, Fantastic amenities
John and Becky,
We had a wonderful time staying in Grand Lake area in your home.
1st of all, the house is amazing. It has everything you need for a family to enjoy the area.
We were a group of 8 adults and 4 of our grand children. There was ample room for the kids to play in the lower level rec room and the great room was so comfortable and spacious for all to gather. We spent the majority of our time on the back patio and around the gas fire pit.
The kitchen had everything we could want for meal prep, etc. We hope to be back soon.
Thank you again for allowing us to use your beautiful home.
Beautiful home on Shadow Mountain Lake
Our family celebrated our daughters 40th Birthday, July 2017. Wonderful home for our family from Illinois. The kitchen was a modern dream kitchen that was fully equipped with cookware and dinnerware. Thank you John and Becky.
This house was perfect for our first family vacation with our daughter. It was nice to have a high chair and pack and play available so we didn't have to pack them. Having two families both with toddlers it was so nice having two living areas. The kids loved playing on the deck, making s'mores, and seeing deer walking up the hill.
It was a nice quiet neighborhood. The house was comfortable and had everything you could need. The view from the top of the hill is beautiful! The home is close to highway 34 and easy to get to all the things you would want to do.
Don't hesitate to book your stay at this lovely home.
Wonderful home for large group
We loved this beautiful home. We had seven adults and six children in our group. There was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was equipped with absolutely anything you could need and we cooked & baked lots of food every day. There is a refrigerator in the garage also which was nice to have for the extra food. We all enjoyed the deck with the grill, fire pit, table & chairs. A moose walked through the back yard on our first night which thrilled both the adults and kids. Hummingbirds fed at the feeder on the deck every day. The view from the top of the hill at the back of the house was amazing and worth the climb. The owners have thought of everything you could need to enjoy your time in their beautiful home.
The house is 5 minutes from the town of Grand Lake, which is at the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park and is the Snowmobiling Capital of Colorado! Grand Lake, Shadow Mountain Lake, and Lake Granby offer tons of fun during any season.
